  1. AeroBob

Persistent problems with the 1.20 patch.

Thanks for the quick reply, Placebo. No, I'd not checked that site, but the solution offered there (aside from updating the 4-in-1 drivers, which I've already done) was to set the DRAM clock value to HCLK which had the effect of limiting the RAM speed to 100mhz. I couldn't see any option to set anything to HCLK anywhere in my BIOS, and there didn't seem to be any other way to curb the RAM speed. If I'm being a n00b again and missing something obvious then please say, but I'm a bit stumped at present.
  2. I'm very sorry if this has been asked before. I tried searching through but didn't find anything, and the link to more information about VIA problems in the appropriate thread at the 'Troubleshooting FAQ' forum was dead. I've had the problem where attempting to install the 1.20 patch reports errors in random files (the 'damaged' files vary each time I try, so I'm guessing it's not accurate) and was pleased to find out that this was a known issue, given it's caused me no end of trouble when I've had to reinstall Operation Flashpoint (I've only got the original retail version, not Resistance or the Gold Upgrade). In the BIOS, I disabled any DMA stuffs (which were four options - turning UDMA on or off for primary master and slave, and secondary master and slave), and I'm still getting the problem after a fresh install of the game. The CD isn't in bad condition, I've had no other problems with my CD-ROM drive and similarly no problems with my hard disk. I've tried several reinstallations of the game and many downloads of the patch. If anybody can tell me what the problem is or point me to a thread I may have missed in which it's already been answered, I'd be most grateful. Many thanks, Bob.
