can no longer get on 1.4 servers after installing red hammer. still says my ver is 1.4 but not compatible with ulitmate upgrade 4 version. why? how can i fix this?

i was up to 1.4, then put on red hammer. still says i am at 1.4 but can't get on 1.4 servers anymore. why in the world would putting on what is basically just 20 more missions do to mess up online compatibility beyond repair? come on guys. answer someone with a cure so we can all get back to business please.

I have same crackle sound prob. eax is off, h&l is off, Hardware acell off, nothing makes a big diff. if you change views, form 1st to 3rd, sound prob clears up. till you get in another vehicle. but then changing views again will clear it up. from talking to people is sounds like most use the sound blaster live and geforce 2 video cards as i do. maybe this is a bug or conflict which effects only that hardware. i notice it only in win xp. when running win ME, all works fine. so whats the cure guys?

i am not sure your DX prob was what solved this anyway. have you never noticed that DX will not install over a never version of DX? It might look like it installed it, but is likely just checking and seeing a never ver and exiting. If this is not so, it would be the first i have seen a older version overwrite a newer one. As for me, i told it to install 8.0 and after install i noticed it didn't, i had ver 8.1 on my system already. The real prob with black screen is likely your refresh rate. if your using a diff res now, that is likely why it works, or the reinstall fixed it. if higher res's are not working, try to edit your flashpoint.cfg file with a diff refresh rate. worked for me. it was at 75, i tried 0 for it to use default, did not work, so tried 60 and BAM! all was fine, 1600x1200 32 bit working fine. P.S. A diff thread name would have likely got more attention sooner. i have bypassed this thread many times. only now looked at it in hopes of finding something to solve a scratchy sound prob with SB live. Likely a driver issue. i will keep playing.

RN is right. depbo programs cut a few lines off the bottom of a mission. however, depending on what code was there, you may be able to retype it. I have heard of some guys that do this, but i simply do my own missions. If you want a mission that uses respawn to look at and edit, try this one. It respawns men and vehicles. in the Description.ext file put this make the file if you don't have one respawn=3 respawndelay=15 make 2 Markers, one for west, one for east Name: Respawn_West Name: Respawn_East and thats about it.
