Which flashpoint.cfg settings are needed on dedic?
Angry Radish replied to Lt_Dan_Sweden's topic in MULTIPLAYER
Could the adapter setting be for specifying which NIC to use? May be helpful for folks like me that have more than one..hmmm -
Agreed. We're running with MaxMsgSend = 256; MinBandwidth = 768000; On a 2.2ghz P4 with 1GB of ram on a full T-1 serving ONLY OFP, no other apps/clients/servers, and it seems these settings are pretty much the sweet spot for performance.

For some reason it takes forever to connect to a server with voip configured on the client, but with it disabled on the server. Only way I've found around it is NOT to config voip when I installed...works fine now... my 2c

Let me know if you fall short on pics, or need detail somewhere, I maintained C-130's, C-141b's, C-5a/b's, and KC-135's for about 9 years in the Air Force, and have tons of pictures I took throughout the years.

Along the same lines, you can try out our server if you want too. That is, if we don't suck too much

They have a winamp skin that matches that cha-ninja stylexp theme now, just FYI

I REALLY REALLY hope they don't try to make Red Storm Rising a movie. The scope is way too large, and they will just butcher the book if they tried to compress it into 2 hours... My 2c

WOW! How you managed to reproduce that one, I'll never know:-)

I'll second that Now if we could just log the info that would normally go into that console window, THAT would be a great step in the right direction:)

thanks for such a quick response!

hehe, yeah, that was my dilemma, crash, or warp tough choice. I'll hang out at 1.47 and wait. we were still able to have fun last night even WITH some of the strange goings-on.

Yeah, the games in the pipeline are the only things keeping me from dumping the X-Box. I have to keep telling myself that the PS2 sucked for the first 6 months or so when it came out...
-
I have a dreamcast(now defunct), a PS2, and an X-box, and I say stay away from the X-box for now, unless you'r only into sports games. The graphics are great, as well as teh framerate, and there are a COUPLE of good titles, like HALO, but there aren't enough games out to even think about getting one yet. I grabbed one as soon as they hit the stores here in the US, played HALO and loved it, then after the next few titles, I started looking for something new, but all I could find were VERY poorly rated games. The X-box will definatly be the console to have if they would just put out some good titles on it. It's superior to the other consoles, but without good games, it's going to die.

So we should probably roll back to 1.46 for now? I was wondering if all that warping was just me

Works fine for us, especially since it takes a slightly higher IQ than the average carrot to install it and get in the proper channel, thus eliminating some of the "llama/newbie/spammer/"CAN YOU HEAR ME?" chatter that you get on and off using ingame comms.
-
Once we have the ability to identify WHO is talking/spamming/playing music, ingame voice will be great, but for now I'm sticking with our RW base station server, it's less maintenance.

Agreed. I've tried to play other games like MOHAA and RTCW, but they just seemed to limited, with no freedom at all. Seems OFP has ruined me for all other games now

That's definately something I miss from hosting Half-life based servers, being able to have access to information like this.

Did either of the last patches change anything relating to memory locations for info, or does that infinite ammo/no reload trainer still work? Haven't had the time to test it since the patch...

It is used mainly by the finnish artillery but also other branches of the military uses it. There was an article in the official army magazine. It's in finnish but I'll post the link as my source. http://www.mil.fi/ruotuvaki/12_99/t04.html<span id='postcolor'> Anyone know how big the firing area is for Ft. Sill in Oklahoma? I was stationed at an Air Force base down the road from it, and it seemed to stretch on forever...

I patched yesterday, and for once the thing stayed up all night...odd

The best way i can compare OFP to DOD and the like is that OFP has realistic weapons damage, capacities (rockets excluded), and WAY more freedom than anything based on half-life. In halflife, the maps are well contained to keep R-speeds down, while OFP has huge outdoor areas to play in, which means if you really wanted to, you could just grab a gun and go wandering off into the mountains on your own. Add to that the ability to fly helicopters, jets, drive vehicles, etc...and OFP wins hands down. If your behind a firewall still, and can't play, hop over to some of the fansites, or even this official site, and grab some of the mpegs so you can see what gameplay looks like ingame.
