Like Tovarish said, dont let CEM frighten you. I believe you can get a good bit of extra speed out of your ride with certain aircraft if you use CEM I personally fly on normal settings. I used to fly full real, but I kept getting lost

And hopefully they'll fix the FW190's FM *dodges brick from Tovarish*

I found it quite hilarious

Yep, definently Yak 3. Or the LA7.

It's really wrecking the game for me. I was chasing a I-16 and as soon as I was in range of the AAA I was toast. Now I was at 420km/hr and manouvering hard for the kill. No way a gunner is going to hit me like that on the first barrage. I saw the first tracer then I was hit. And it's like that all the time. Now the AAA in IL2 was useless, but FB went too far the other way. My campaign has come to a standstill because nothing can penitrate the AAA around the cities. COLINMAN<span id='postcolor'> I agree 100%. Believe it or not, it can get even worse. Try a Stuka campaign...

I'm going to be getting a cable modem soon. Maybe we should all set up some cooperative matches with our fellow forum members? I believe it was suggested earlier in this thread, but I dont remember the response the idea got...

WoOt! I just shot down that ace in the P39 It took me four tries, but I think I got lucky... he attempted to run for some reason, even though he had all his ammo left. Maybe he just wanted to put some distance between us so he could turn around, I dunno. I was flying a BF109F4. I tried to fight that ace who flies a LA7, but I got roxxored I was using the FW190A5, but he got me with relative ease.

*bursts into tears* I admit it! I threw the bit about the P47 in there so nobody would notice my Luftwhining in defense of the FW190! Even with the Me262 available, I still love the FW190! I really dont think the FW190's stall characteristics are represented realisticly. It should, according to several sources I've seen, stall in a completely different manner than what is currently seen. But perhaps those sources were false, I can never be sure. I just hope Oleg changes the FW190's stall characteristics in the upcoming patch.

The only player controlled flight models that I've personally had problems with are the P47 and FW190. The P47 goes into stalls far too easily, as does the FW190 (especially the A8 variant, from my experience) I've also heard on the other forums that the Hurricane FM might be messed up, but I'm not sure. Hmm... the end of April, eh... hopefully I'll have my cable or DSL hooked up by then, because I expect this patch to be a whopper

I understand that Tovarish, and I'm not questioning the Yak3's combat abilities. Â It was an excellent fighter, perhaps the best of WWII. Â Its the AI that bothers me. Last night I engaged a Yak3 at 7500 meters. Â I was flying a FW190D9, and I simply could not shake him. Â I tried an immelman, several hammerheads, and then after five minutes I simply dived with a slight turn, so he ran out of ammo trying to hit me. Â All the AI does is constantly turn directly towards my aircraft. Â They never lose sight of me, and follow me straight through clouds. Â And they NEVER EVEN STALL! Â They will have the little smokey trails from their wingtips and everything, but they remain in control of their aircraft under any circumstances. Â If this was changed, and the AI could actually stall, then it'd make the AI much more vulnerable, and IMO realistic. And sadly, its not only the late war Yak fighters that fight this way. I've been unable to shake Lagg3 1941 models as well. MiG3's too. I can understand being OUTTURNED by a I16 or other small nimble fighter, but it doesnt seem to be the turning that is the problem. Its the all around flight behavior of their aircraft. I'm also not doubting that this "perfect" AI works for both sides, not only Soviet aircraft.

I've come to the conclusion that the bomber AI and the enemy FM's are what really need looking in to. I dont consider myself a Luftwhiner, but its physically impossible for my FW190 to get a Yak9 (or god forbid, a Yak 3) off my tail. I get shredded when I'm flying hammerheads, and the only way I can get them off my tail is to make them run out of ammo. It seems cheap, but its gotten me alot of kills so far Online I hear that you can simply boom and zoom and the FW190 accels in that aspect, but thats nearly impossible to do against AI. They just constantly climb up to your altitude, and wont get off your tail no matter what And I agree with Badgerboy, the bombers need a bit of polish until they can fully be used to their full potential.

Well I restarted my campaign as a German pilot. Now I'm doing the Central campaign, and I changed it so I'll get a FW190 as soon as its available, and use it for the rest of the war I've come to the conclusion that I16's are invulnerable to the MG17 rounds. I dont mean highly tolerant, I mean completely invulnerable. I've seen BF110's and BF109's empty their entire load into an I16's wings without so much as a scratch...

And according to Denoir, the US Marines are excellent tree climbers *hopes he posts the pic again*
