Thankyou BIS/Codemasters/etc... Awsome game, I'm still new so I just ignore all the mod hype since I'm still trying to complete the campaign. Whenever I do finish with a good score/rank then I'll look into mods,etc... but the way I play each mission(over and over) it'll probably be a while... Thanx again!

I used to smoke pot daily... down here where I live(south TX) a pound goes for $90 and that could last weeks... anyways, I smoked pot daily and did other drugs as well all through high school, I'm 22 now and haven't touched the DRUG since my freshman yr in college... you guys talking about cig's and weed and smoke not bad for your body are all wrong... smoke is bad for your lungs, think about it man... I mean, atleast cig's have filters and weed,joints,marijuana, maryjane,grass, whatever you wanna call it doesn't use filters, it goes straight it... and to prove my point all you people you have smoked pot or are still smoking pot, have you ever smoke a bong? Okay, now have you ever smoke outta the same bong for like days? If so, you notice how what once was a clear glass tube is now brown and the inside of the tube is caked in sticky residue.... Hmmm, imaging a 1inch diameter tube being filled with sticky residue, now imagine your little lung veins/vessels/air tubes or whatever and imagine that residue caking your lungs.... Hmmm, not a pretty picture right? I used to be all pro-pot but man, after looking at my used pipes and bongs and thinking about my insides and quit on the spot... I wanna breath okay till I'm 90 and not have any problems with my memory etc.... hell, I can't even remember half of high school... so next time you all smoke a joint and "inhale" that "healthy" smoke.... just imagine how your lungs are slowy getting caked with that sticky residue and slowly, the smaller air veins/vessels will shut, and your lungs will work harder to inhale/exhale.... Hmmmm? even cigs turn their filters yellow right? yup laters....

my fav band Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam came out in 91 and with the Jeremy video and touring became the hottest band around (at that time) than VS (their 2nd album) came out and it sold like 900,000 copies in 5 days which was unheard of back before the boy bands came around... Heres where I'm scared... well Pearl Jam didn't like the way TicketMaster was charging their fans too much for tickets so they decided to tour and their own terms in doing so, had to cancel a lot of concerts and eventually cancelled the tour altogether... fans just started dropping like flies, and that's where I'm getting at. I love this game, it's awsome, etc... and you guys are bad-ass in this forum, but from the looks of it, a lot of you guys/gals might be dropping like flys as well and jumping unto the other game forums shortly. I hope not, I don't mod so it doesn't really bug me... what does bug me are cheap mods, that might be funny if anything, but cheap. I love great mods, I mean the ones that just make you look at the game in a whole new way. So I really hope you guys stick around and play/follow OFP till the end... ...almost 11 yrs now and I'll still skip work to see Pearl Jam play live.

Um, I just recently purchased a truck... yup, you guessed it, a Toyota Tacoma 4WD. It's my first truck so I'm all excited and the first time I came in here I couldn't think of any other screen name. Well it's not mine until another 4 yrs 'cause I'm making payments but, nah, it's mine. I just don't know if I shouldn't waited till after I graduated college 'cause the payments kinda hurt. Okay, I recently did a clean install of my OS and am starting from scratch, installing drivers, etc... I'm now ready to install my fav game again, I saved my .pbo files or whatever they're called but are they're any precautions I should know about, will the fade occur? I just bought the game about a month ago while the latest patch was coming out and I installed them one right after the other so I I'm not too scared about the "patch" syndrome... ...wish me luck and I'll see you all in multiplayer.

...disable "W-buffer" in video options. That should do the trick.

...wow, I'm glad I bought this game, coming from the Rainbow6/RogueSpear scene I sneared when I heard of MODS for OFP but you guys are some talented fools, Cougar, your pics are bad-ass(awsome) and it's cool how you're looking for all the real info out there, good luck to all the modders. ...coming from a RainbowSix, Rogue Spear vet I know where he's coming from. I'm barely getting into the mission editing part of OFP but when it comes to mods, I'm picky. If they're fun and eye candy, I'll get them. But man, if you come from the Redstorm scene you know about deleting this mod since this new mod combines this and that and oh yeah, this other mod can't work with that mod so you have to take this mod and reinstall the first mod, etc... ...good luck modders.

<- Radeon 64 DDR VIVO (retail) @ 225/225Mhz ...I also encountered the same "green effect" and I just disabled "W-buffer" and it went away, I've got Win98SE and I'm using the latest "unofficial" ones from ATI, I also had that "green effect" with the latest "official" ones from ATI. ...if you have any more ATI vid card related issues you should try the link at the bottom   ...and go to the forums or try some of the drivers/tweakers, in some threads you can find some good posts on Operation Flashpoint as well. ...laters. I own an ATI RADEON 64MB DDR VIVO SE (2nd Ed.) and I love it. It's awsome for gaming and also it has Video In and Video Out for some video editing or watching TV, outputing to TV, etc... When it comes to clock/memory speed the Nvidia cards are faster but ATI's hardware GPU is more focused on reaslism, textures, lighting, etc... plus, they're lighter on the wallet.

hey man, I've got the crappiest 'puter, read the specs. 350Mhz PII 384MB SDRam 64MB DDRam ATI Radeon VIVO SE 10GB HD If it wasn't for my RADEON I don't think my 'puter would make it today.

What the? How can they choose Ghost Recon as Game of the Year?... I mean, didn't it come out like in October/November? So after 3 months of playing the game they decide that it's the game of the yr? Hmmmm, well damn, I'll wait to see what all other bad-ass games have and don't have and work on my development a little further and put it out on late December just to be Game of the Year. I mean, there were alot of games in 2001 that are good if not great games that were made with technology in 2001 not at the end of it. Hmmmm... anyways, I like Computer Gaming World better, I used to read PC Gamer but all the guys/gals sound like spoiled snobs there and if they can't save a million times and cheat on games then they won't like it.  LOL, I just saw that I didn't spell RESPONSE right...  LOL    I'm just a rookie @ this game, been playing for about 2 wks now and what I've noticed is that your team depends alot on you, even when you're not commanding, for instance, if you know that a LAW soldier is important for the mission, than mirror him and protect him @ all costs, so you won't have to do the dirty work, the more men you protect the more your team will survive, plus when you tend to take shots first, your team backs you up, I never let them go ahead of me...   AI will never out smart the BRAIN!!...   I mean, I've been stuck with all my members dead but after a couple of "Rambo" trys @ it I just went back and played the previous mission over and made sure that my men survived. This game has me huuuuuuuked.  Â

I love this game, I've now been playing this game for about 3 wks and I think my girlfriend dumped me cause of it, but I don't know, I'm in the middle of a war here...  lol  ...anyways, looking at the infamous www.independencelost.com I wasn't that surprised, I thought right away that if they made an add-on pack or a part 2 they should continue down the line in the history books, they started in 1985, so next would be the gulf war right, may be a mission where we try to get a headshot on the leader of Iraq himself...  than, "Operation Crisis", where we go into the battles over at Somalia and Kosovo...  those would be cool with a little history thrown in with real facts but keeping it fiction so we can still have fun with how the war will be played out...   ...may be even a threat to the US itself through South America, Mexico & Canada where we have to fight through the Aztec ruins and the snow of Canada...  hmmmm. Nevermind, just rambling and woo hoo, forums are working today.  May be even a prequal to OFP.  lol  Laters...

"Reagan is in power in the West; Gorbachev holds sway in the East" 1985, hmmm, sounds about right to me, and the weapons and vehicles are just about right, except for a few that you'll find on other threads... the lands are fictional but the "Cold War" theme is real, I'm just saying, other games make up the Presidents, Leaders etc. and having the real names makes it pretty interesting IMHO.

...man, this game is sooo cool, after "completing" a bad-ass mission ( return to Eden I think ) the scene played on and than it this guy came out who I did see 2 times before, and he discharged me... lol ...can't wait to revert and show him that I can kick ass the right way. Discharge, ha! ...oh yeah, man I thought this was a modern day "Full Metal Jacket" scene, the video right before "Return To Eden" where it shows all the helicoptors flying and those AMC's going through the water where it's playing that bad-ass song in the background. Man, I was like wow, I guess I was so pumped up that I got "discharged"... lol ...anyways, anybody know the band or title of that song.

I usually play with 1024x768@32bit but at times I like to go up to 1028x1024@32bit. I think what helps out is the hardware T&L on my vid card and I take off all shadows, other than that, everything else is maxed out graphics wise. Haven't tried online though but I do know that because of the large battlefields, etc... Â you need a FAST 'puter and a FAST connection. My 2 cents.

Man, I'm blown away by this game. Before OFP I was an avid REDSTORM fanatic/gamer. Still have my first copy of Rainbow Six. No other FPS/game could get my attention. I loved the suspense of the game, the "one shot your dead" ethic. Anyways, a couple of expansions/mods later, here I am. I just picked up the copy after surfing the net and seeing what people had to say. I was like hmm, GR on one side and OFP on the other. Man, I'm playing as a cadet and it's freakin' hard and I love it. Can't wait to play as a veteran and than try my luck online after I get more OFP skills. THIS FORUM IS AWSOME!!!!! I'm currently stuck on one of the earlier missions, where I have to move solo from A to B but I keep getting killed and it's just bad-ass. Each time I get farther and farther. Crawling, walking, waiting for the enemies to move on, etc... anyways, back to gaming. Wish me luck! Oh yeah, since I just bought it, I just downloaded the patches one by one and installed them one right after the other (reboots between of course) and it's playing fine. Can't wait to conquer it so I can try that Red Hammer.

1024x768@32bit 350Mhz PII <- Yup, don't even make the recommended specs! 348Mb RAM 64Mb RADEON VIVO @ 216/216mhz DirectX 8.1 You might think that I wouldn't be able to play but I sometimes go up to 1280x1024@32bit when I really wanna feel action and all explosions, lights, textures look awsome. I'm planning on building my own system in February but my system is still running the newest games even w/all the details pumped up. I know I'll freak out with the difference w/the newer system but I'm just loyal to my first 'puter.

Man, after I believe a week straight of some midnight playing, I've finally conquered that "strait out of a movie" mission... and now I'm a hostage!!!!! GGGggggrrrrrrrr!!!! I love this freakin' game... it's almost like a movie but you decide how it's gonna end etc... I love the way I get scared to look to my left or right afraid if some "maching gunner" is gonna cut me to pieces... and doesn't it just push a button when after you die they show who killed you... and you're like "man, I could've killed that guy" oh well, I'll try to see what I gotta do next later on tonight, laters.

It's like comparing PEARL JAM to Creed. Since I'm a PJ fan, I'm saying that OFP is PJ and GR is Creed.
