  1. The public servers with the highest player numbers all have signature checking enabled. And most of them even allow sound mods and other addons.

So not a valid point. It's all about being lazy, as a server admin and as a user.

It's like having a web server running without any kind of security. Nobody would do that.

    Xeno

Sure, now in A2 nearly all mods are signed so no excuse not to have sig check anymore. In A1 most servers didnt have check on. Didnt play OA public much lately.

  2. I gree with OP, however such open servers can be very populated becouse normal people can join with sound mods and some other small addons.

Servers that have sig check often dont have keys on or have outdated keys.

It would be nice to have somekind of data base with all the keys on a highly visible place. So maybe addon makers would upload their keys there. It can be rather annoying to download 400MB just to get a key of 100KB.

  3. Firstly campaign has to be amazing.

    Vehicles:

    -Visible vehicle damage

-More realistic driving physics, more fluid suspension with better visuals

    -Realistic collision

By realistic I mean, when you drive a car on road or especially offroad it should look and feel somewhat like a real car, no need for a racing sim. Something like GTA 4 but adopted for world of arma which is quite different to NYC.

    Commanding:

    -AI helicopter land command

-AI driver use road only command

    Gameplay:

-Same kind of movement as in ArmA 2, with all the transitions and reactions polished to accomplish somewhat precise and enjoyable, yet "realistic" behaviour.

-A warfare like mission, where commander plays a strategy game. :)

    General:

-Selectable skin for whole arma (green, white, yellow...)

-Customizable HUD (different colour, crosshair style and colour, information positions)

    -Ragdoll

-Default weapons not sounding like airsoft... AK, Scar... (not asking for BF sound)

    More options in editor, like:

    -Loadout sub menu

-Placable templates, for bases, outposts and such

-Better scaling of markers for objects in editor

    -In-Editor tools like fence builder

-Buildings/Objects placed horizontaly on small slopes

-More templates of missions (modes) and useful scripts

  4. It was said in an interview with Sion himself

It's a pretty hilarious interview. Especially when he brags about that the AI in Dragon Rising was sometimes to good so they had to temper it down.

Here's the best part of it. Stupidity at it's best.

Sion is delusional. In related videos I've seen this one:

Obviously this nextgentectics guy is some console noob making videos, however he made a pretty fair assessment.

  5. bradley very load in real life, powerful engine. MAybe crew inside (i.e. not turned out/ in 3rd person view) will hear quieter sounds due to hearing protection.

    loud*

The point is that its much louder then the rest of ArmA 2 vehicles. IMO volume of ArmA 2 vehicles is more then enough. There should be some kind of volume limit. I mean, konrad, you can do whatever you want but you may consider that not everyone use all your sounds, but rather have a mix of meny. And if one is very much louder then the other...

Its not the same for weapons. So TRSM has nice volume I think, you may take a look at it. Just a suggestion.

  6. @Beagle

Please dont twist my words around. I usenderstand that you know how to operate AT launchers and whatnot but this is still a game. Longer anims for bigger launcher, sure, but not being stuck for longer. In the end, it all comes down to w, a, s, d and your mouse.

Some of you see "not being able to move while switching" as realistic, I see it as lack of feature. Like not having toggle ADS or something.

  7. Reloading while running is one of the best features of ArmA 2 and was very disapointing that you cant switch to sidearm while running. BIS should add:

    -switch to sidearms while running

-switch to AT launcher while walking, even Javelin

Duration of animation can be long for AT, however not being stuck is important.

Being stuck just gets you killed in CQB. This is a must for smooth gameplay.

Arguments like "its not realistic" or "go play CoD" are just nonsense. Anyone who seriously played CoD 4 or newer, knows that switching speeds and anims are very well done there. Are not unrealistic and not "fast paced".

When "reload while running" was introduced I did not see any more "running and gunning" in MP then in Armed Assault.

  8. I see a lot of games out there that are wonna be CoD just with retarded controls and extreme amounts of bloom.

However its kind of sad that nearly only CoD has simple features like semi proper reload anims and strafe sprint which really adds to gameplay. So in this aspect it sets good standard.

Homefront already fails with no lean or recoil. Atleast it has prone. But its kind of fun. Like get in and kill some people. Movement seems smooth which is really the most important thing in FPS like that.

Oh yes, I almost forgot, this game could really use a sound mod. Weapons sound like airsoft.
