Hi everyone.
Right now I'm at our summerhouse, and I've brought OFP with me, hoping that I could play dome during the summer.
However, although I've played OFP several times on this computer, now it refuses to let me play. Everytime when I start OFP, I get as far as to the "Codemasters" logo, then I'm returned to desktop. The "flashpoint.rpt" reports this error;

I've traced the D3D8.DLL as a file being part of DirectX. However my attempts to install DirectX 8.1b has failed, since an error message saying something like (could not copy required file) shuts down the directx installation process before it's finnished.
Right now I have DirectX 8.1 installed.
My operating system is Win98
I have a TBS Montego soud card
A ATI Radeon 7200 3d card
Pentium II 400MHz, 64mb ram.
Now, as I said, I now that OFP should work on these specs, after all, I have played it on this computer before. So the problem must be something else.
