Thats why its the biggest mistake to release a game without ANY cheat protection imo. People eventually will get paranoia and be like "teh cheats could be everywhere!" (no offence wolf, i think your post is interesting). Thank God i've yet to see an admin kicking because of a sound mod message or something similar. But if that happens we got a serious problem. 2 Words: Vanilla ArmA BTW what are those version numbers about? I didnt get that.

Hotfix, Patch, i couldnt care less. Another bug bites the dust, thats whats important for me Good work BIS, but please speed up your bug fixing rate a bit
-
As long as the host is in Europe everything should be fine for you speed-wise...at least i get my 240KBs most of the time
-
clicky No need for a torrent i guess - you only got problems with gamershell right?

Pressing "Tab" should help. -
Ok here we go. I was fireing up the editor and started my little testing tour at the south sahrani airport in a cobra -> 30-35 FPS While flying over Paraiso it was stuttering a little bit but nothing to worry about -> 22-25 FPS after some texture loading I continued to the south -> 30-40 FPS between Paraiso and the Cayo Desert -> 40-50 FPS over the Cayo Desert Enough for the south, lets take a look at the north side starting with Corazol -> 22 FPS most of the time -> around 30 between Cora and Bagango -> 22-25 over Bagango -> around 20 over dense forrests...i dont like forrest fights anyway VD 3000, flying with an Alt of 30-40m most of the time. I'm pretty fine with those numbers, everything keeps playable. I hope i could help you a bit with your decision.
-
Well, "pretty good" means a steady playable FPS I didnt run a test with Fraps in the last months but I can fly around in the editor a bit if you want be to. Gotta go buy some beer first though before the shop is closed

You cant go wrong with a Geforce 7950 GT 512mb. I own one of those babys and ArmA runs pretty good with high settings, except that memory surface crash bug thingy from time to time. But I've got twice as much RAM and a C2D 6300 so I cant say how big the impact on your performance will be. One last thing...those 7950GTs get pretty hot with the stock cooler and the sound is annoying so you better get a Zalman or something when ordering a 7950.

Bohemia Interactive you let me down

...and thats totally normal. Do some research by yourself next time. As good as every known problem with arma has been discussed in this forum... ah yea lol @ phone number -
With external you mean an USB HDD right? If yes never install any games on it cause they are to slow for it. I use my ext. HDD only for MP3 and such things and the internal drives for games, windows n stuff.
-
Ummm yea I guess that could be the reason for your problem
-
Kinda reminds me of a guy a few years ago in UT: "Your Clan is using TeamSpeak? OMG u cheaters!" Anyway i get your point. ATM you cant do anything against people like this exept asking an admin to take care of that. If theres no admin around you can still look out for another server -> problem solved
-
Hi, are you using ArmA v.1.07beta+? If not, try it coz it seems to help some people with similar problems. You should also try some different drivers for your GFX, maybe even some tweaked ones (like this). Thats all i can think of atm...for more you can check out the other threads from users with the same problem. Btw maybe you should consider getting a new grafic card, yours is outdated and you wont have much fun with it in the future. Also remember that ArmA is NOT Fear, BF2 or whatever. Its got much higher requirements...
-
Hm...do you play any other Online games and suffer lags there too? I heared such things quite often back in my UT time. People with good pings had major lags and warping Characters and stuff... To say it short: I bet its your connection.

No more ghost choppers, yay! Hopefully I'll find some good servers to test this, a lot of them switched back to 1.05 -
m8...no information no help... No need for bumping this if you cant give us full system specs.

Damn...you just destroyed all my hope for never seeing that bug again... -
Thanks to self-sealing fuel tanks in RL. http://www.cradleofaviation.org/exhibit....ex.html Oh thanks for the info, I just thought I mention this because everything else is losing fuel etc. Nevermind that then
-
Noticed 2 more bugs/features(?). First one is about the A-10. When you are flying a Chopper and a Shilka shoots the crap outta you, you begin to lose fuel after some damage. I dunno about the harrier but the A-10 seems to never lose any fuel cause of damage. I was able to fly around with red status like nothing ever happens, exept that a lotta smoke was coming out of my plane The other thing is a fairly small one. Normally when you're driving around with a Tank everything that stands in your way (trees n stuff) got no chance and you can just drive over it. But the Traffic lights in Ortega wont give up. I tried to bring them down with an Abrams at full speed without luck, looks like they can resist everything. After noticing that I tried the same thing with 1.05 and had no problem to drive them down. Bug or feature?
-
Not a new one, I think theres even a screenshot of that somewhere in the deeps of this forum. Anyway, I just fooled around with the editor and the armory...lets get to the armory first: Its a nice little feature but far away from perfect. Some of the Vehicles spawn in water and BIS should cut out the "look at it in the middle of the night" thing. You know...i wanna see stuff and this is kinda hard when its dark. I also had a Game freeze while loading a Scene and had to shut Arma down with CTR+ALT+DEL. And btw....do i have to play Single player stuff to unlock things? Next up - The A-10. Man i missed that thing! The first plane in ArmA i can actually fly without crashing into something coz of hyper sensible controles, yay! (Im more a fan of choppers...so please no comment on this one :P ) I also gave the Landing Autopilot a try...well, it landed but didnt stop and crashed right into a tree. The NV Googles are just sweet, really love them. The overall performance seems to be a litte bit better then 1.5+ but i didnt test it with fraps or something and so my brain could just made that up. But the loading times are even longer than before, arent they? Those are my first impressions after a few test. keep up the good work BIS

Nah Ive got contact linses and I took that information from the german announcement, guess u need some new glases or learn some german Thanks for the conformation Maruk, got enough free space now (bye bye UT2k4). Hope its worth it and that Ill never see that "cannot create memory surface" crash/bug thingy again..
-
Holy fork...the installation of the patch is 4,1GB big? Gotta do some uninstallations then if its not some kinda error. Great news btw....and about time somethings happening
-
The informations about your PC are...lets say "limited", so its hard to trace the problem down but i'll just give it a shot with a basic question: Did you install the latest OpenAL thingy? I remember ArmA making a lotta trouble without it...
-
How about giving us more information? For example which version of ArmA do you have and where did you bought it (online or DVD etc).
-
I think we proved more then once that this is NOT an 8800 nor a Vista only problem. Its ArmA itself so BI gotta do something! Someone in this Thread said that he dont want a workaround, he want a solution and i can second that...
