MSI K7N2 Delta2 Motherboard w/NForce Chipset (v. 5.10 which was the last update available) AMD Athalon 2800+ (Barton Core) Windows Reported Speed: 2.08 GHz 1GB Kingston System Ram (Running in duel mode) ATI Raedon 9800pro AGP x8 Video Card w/ 128MB of Ram (Catalyst 6.9) Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Sound Card (Drivers up to date as of 12-07-06) Not sure if this one has been mentioned or not but I get no sounds other than the "wildlife" in vehicles. Noticed this in both the Blackhawk Helicopter and the Abrams on the CTI Map. Also, I was hoping that someone was finally going to get something right about the AT4(M136). It's a fire and drop weapon. Not reloaded in the field. Stout Hearts |RE|Warhawk EDIT: System spec's modified to comply with earlier request by Placebo. Second EDIT: As to the AT4 I would direct your attention here

@deanosbeano That's good to hear. I was hoping that what I was hearing might either be rumour or someone just either having a bad experience or being a jerk and getting kicked for it. Our team is looking and hoping for a title that will allow us to play and compete online again and nothing else out there shows any real good promise for us other than AA and Game 2. I've been doing a fair amount of looking around and reading about what the OFP Community in general is like in many areas. One thing that still seems to remain a bit of a mystery to me is the area of CO-OP style game play. I've talked to many who have said basically "Yeah it's out there but it's a very closed club kind of situation" "If your not known your not let in". When Game 2 is released, and if this is a repeat (I think I even asked this somewhere here but can't find it now) of a similiar question I apologize, will there be many that will play Game 2 online in a co-op mode or will the emphasis be placed on TvT style of play? In the past has there been many "CO-OP" style tourney's and if so will this continue with Game 2? Stout Hearts |RE|Warhawk

That would be a God send to those in NA if true. Stout Hearts |RE|Warhawk -
My stepson recently bought Bet On Soldier and as you may or may not know it too comes with Starforce. Since it's installation even demo's, both those downloaded and those that come in a magazine, will not install. They consistantly error out. When he tries to run any of his other games the system crashes and restarts. All of this didn't occur until the virus, otherwise known as a copywrite protection tool, Starforce was installed. And yes everything he has is legal. I want to make Game2 my next "game" purchase but not if it has Starforce. To those that say "it's only pirates that have problems" you need to really rethink your stance. I recognize a company's right to protect their intellectual property. Without that protection we wouldn't have a lot of the nice things we do today. But not when it goes to this extreme. Stout Hearts |RE|Warhawk

Dont forget the publisher thingy, its something to consider , plus in to long run their developments in the sim market might benefit all of us . I would have to agree with Heatseeker on this one. Military spending will be only a portion of their total revenue. For all we know it could be that VBS2 is based on the Next Gen PC Title and not the other way around which would of course then indicate that we will see the NGPCT as well. Personaly if the only hold up is a publisher I will gladly wait rather than get stuck with company like UBI for example. Stout Hearts |RE|Warhawk -

In my opinion pulling the virtual trigger and seeing the effects you would see if it were real will make you think about it, and about the preparing part, I don't really know, you're right on one end, but at the other end, look what I wrote: the image after seeing one's head blown to bits after you made it happen might prove enough to make you think twice about what you want to do. If you haven't already thought about that then no amount of preparation will do. Let me ask you this. And please don't take these as an argumentative questions. What kind of real life experience are you basing your statement on? IE have you served in the military? In combat? Or some form of Law Enforcement? Have you ever had to fire a weapon in anger? You need not necessarily answer those here as we, you and I are taking this decidely off topic and really need to stop. Stout Hearts |RE|Warhawk -

@Gandolf Nothing in this world can really ever prepare one for the reality of taking a human life. Especially shooting at "polygons". At least that applies to those of what one would call a sane mind. Stout Hearts |RE|Warhawk -

I dont know what turret override is but fire control and thermal imaging sound good to me . @Heatseeker Things like thermal imaging and fire control are the very things that make me wonder about VBS2's availabilty. Depending on the level of detail, the more detail the worse actually, could spell the demise of any VBS2 "community" before it even gets off the ground. Especially if they are talking about the thermal imaging and fire control equipment aboard something like the M1A2 for one example. The upside is this could be seen as a precursor of things to come with the next gen title. Then again I may be waaaayyyy off base too. Stout Hearts |RE|Warhawk I am with you on this but is thermal imaging secret? Secret? No. How it's done in particular to specific units I would venture a guess as to yes. For example, the fin stablizer system on US Perry Class Frigates. Back when I was in the Navy (Mid 80's) the, at that time, Soviets new about it and even what it did. They just couldn't get it to work. The priniciple was well known but how the US Navy employeed it was deemed "Top Secret". It's current classification level is somewhat of a mystery to me but with the sale of Perry Class Frigates to Middle Eastern countries I doubt it carries the same "classification" level. But I'm digressing. Like I said what it is no how they do it yes. Or I would assume. Stout Hearts |RE|Warhawk -

Someone once told me "VBS1 is nothing more than OFP on steroids". While I won't get into my thoughts on that sentiment if you follow the logical conclusion then it might go something like this....... VBS1 = OFP on steroids, then VBS2 might be compaired to the next gen PC title as the Incredible Hulk. The big question will be accessibilty to the public of VBS2 and more importantly it's add-ons but safe to say that what ever VBS2 is, it could be concievably argued that the next gen PC game will completely blow away the tac-sim gaming market. Leaving big name companies like UBI and EA feeling like.... Stout hearts |RE|Warhawk -
