Hey Ladies and Gents, Just wanted to keep the thread updated and I have been doing a fair bit of textureing work on the hmmwv pack lately and recently touched up the sides hood and front to bee more matching and more high quality. Anyways i took 10 min and remodeled the hood on the hmmwv to look like an actual hmmwv's hood. Anyways heres a pic. Sincerely, BlackDeath

I got what you mean now. Dont get all pissy with me boy. "Check the floor around the BIS ones, then your ones." You could have simplified my confusion with just saying "Check the ground around the BIS hmmwv's and yours. Yours arent projecting any shadows then we would have known what you are talking about. Let me go on with the explantation lets move inside shall we 1st. I am not going ot put any shadows in the floor of the hmmwv mainly if light is shining in and from the right and there is a shodow on the left it does not look right. Its just that simple with light hitting it and theres a big arse shadow. Sincerely, BlackDeath EDIT: Ziro was after all talking not about the floorboard of the hmmwv. But the ouside shadows like in pic 5 which will be fixed asap thanks for reminding us Ziro.

What do you mean shadows? If your meaning what i think you are of you notice the game engine automatically shadows sides etc if there is one side facing the sun the other side has a shadow. and also if i put shadows like for instance in places where overhangs are etc if thats the side against the light for instance and it has that big arse shadow there well thats unrealisic. Thats the reason there will be slim to none in the shadow field on the fact of it looking better without them. But there will be a few in some places but you really wont notice them a whole lot. If you meant something other than what i'm thinking please let me know. Sincerely, BlackDeath

I darkened the textures by 20% and here is the turnout. I think it looks alot better ingame compared to the bis hmmwv and i do not see any reason what so ever so go any darker because if i do it will start looking way to dark to be proper colors. I think it looks alot better ingame than the bis hmmwv and is harden to spot than the bis hmmwv. Although i got a feeling i am gonna hear bis hmmwv textures forever posts. here are some pics. I do believe the wheels is what is bringing the appearance down. They will be redone. Now about the whole color issue, I will darken them by 20% all around because you guys asked me too. Bu thing is using hte road as a background was a bad idea, but these really do fit well in the actually game , they are alot harder to spot than the bis textures which god knows arent well at all or even in the ballpark of being the right color shades. And also about the whole hyk infantry match thing etc. If you notice in most cases our bdu's do not hardly match out vehicles its just a fact they arent meant to be the same color. Only thing i can say is its obvious of the following. A. none of you must be in the military and get to see these daily. B. WE dont normally take pictures of our hmmwv's in the dark thats why they are the color they are that is what military cammo looks like in the day not night. I see no point in making them darker although if some prefer it they can keep getting blacker. They look exactly like a military one with a little dirt on it. Fielded equiptment is not dark green or brown fgs. Sincerely, BlackDeath

I know there are a bazillion hummers out there but i am just getting tired at looking at the dark old bis camo scheme so i went to the base and took a few pictures of a hummer and am currently handpainting the bis hummer to match. Here is some of the pictures of it so far i have been working on it 6 hours and in the end there will be new wheel textures entirely new body textures, and actual mud textures / dirty textures etc etc... Anyways post some constructive feedback i havent got to the sides yet and there are some things i want to sharpen/add to the textures but i just wanted to post some pics ot get some good feedback on do's and donts. THe one in the military pic was a f350 as it seems as i found this PAGE The other one you posted was a f-150 i do believe. Only reason i guess i thought this one was a f250 is it looks like it but ford i guess changed the models around on me this year meaning atleast the bed :-). Sincerely, BlackDeath -

I'll keep that in consideration Wilco thanks for the offer. I think i will texture an version for real pics and a version from my hand drawn textures and release them both for use by mods. Or maybe create my own pack of proper armored hmmwv's thing is getting a good modeler to model some certain things which i am not exactly good at. -BlackDeath

Ok. I have a question. I got a good picture of the side of a Armored slantback hmmwv. Now question to you the community is whether i should use real textureing or continue handdrawing them. Here is a pic for comparison. (Note: i know the texture isnt completely aligned right around the window and very front so ya dont have to tell me ) Question -BlackDeath ::::::::EDIT:::::::: Anyone here that can model that will model me a proper brush guard on these hmmwv's or that can assist in the modeling aspects of this pack. @General Barron "If you have fired an m16 or similar rifle from standing, you would know that it is pretty difficult to hit targets that are a couple hundred meters away" I'm in the National Guard and i dont have a problem hitting targets at 200meters away standing. Hell i can hold my m16 in one hand extended from the body and fire it. It doesnt have much recoil at all alteast to me maybe if you get a 3'9 person with a kids body you'd gete recoil like the fdf mods but a normal 6'+ person doesnt have much of a recoil problem. and i do believe ofp's soldiers are modeled on a 6ft scale. Anyways Just figured i would throw in my 50 cents on the whole recoil issue. Sincerely, BlackDeath

Nah i dont have a problem with it i think its kinda odd seeing it sand with grass around it i would strongly suggest changing it to grss using the mapfact barraken for bases and using the mapfact radio tower and control tower at the airport etc.. Anyways great job, -BlackDeath
