I didn't see this in the fix-list for the new patch... Has it already been fixed in 106 and i'm just imagining decresed performance or is it low on your priority list... I just really wish i didn't have to put all my graphics settings on low and normal with this system that i thought was a beast when i could play Company of Heroes on pretty much all max. I dunno, how bout helpin a guy out.
-
Can I get a developer to reply? I'd really like to take advantage of my system on this game... It's making me really ticked off.

So i've been playing for a few months and i find myself pretty good at judging distances. Guess what!!! That has no meaning at all in marksmanship in this game. I always have to just fire and watch where my rounds land due to the varying height that i fire from in respect to the enemy position. I say we should have adjustable sights, just like Joint Operations if any of you guys have played that. Just have it so that one button brings it up by 100s of yards/meters and the other brings it down. This is really a problem with the AT weapons such as the AT4/m136. With that you have the big post in the way so you have to just guess... I'm pretty sure that the sight is adjustable, along with the smaller peephole for the extra long distances (where i fire from). This should be incorporated to every weapons system in the game whether it be vehicle mounted or hand held (Besides the pistol of course). What are your guy's feelings on this?
-
Well I just want elevation in the game. I do believe it's needed on assault rifles seeing how I tend to fight the enemy where i think i'll be at the advantage cause I aim and many of the ppl I've faced just shoot to shoot.

Authentic sound & weapon Mod
{9thInf}GunnyMeyer replied to ThePredator's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
is the sound only mod one where it changes your default sounds? I want to get one where it changes your sounds without you having to put those specific weapons in a map, just works with all the existing ones... -
In that case I am in love. As soon as i get my game up I'm gonna DL this and make maps and convert maps for it non-stop. Beautiful skins.

Now I haven't gotten to try this out yet, but I must say that judging by the screenies they are THE best looking textures i have seen out for MARPAT. Now that i have stated jhow I feel on it and the fact that I haven't gotten to play it, I have a question about the screenies: Why does it look like one of the Units has the doublesided Helmet cover inside out? He has the desert side out and the rest is Woodies... Is that meant to be like that? I dunno, looks kinda goofy to me, but Marines may do that in real world on purpose, not like in the beginning of the war when they didn't have enough supplies for their purposes.
-
The Woodies use too much of the light colored green and not enough dark. There should be much more dark green than light.

Okay, since this is a realism based game, I'm kinda surprised about this, but still the devs arent american, let alone Military men (in the US). There arent enough skins for the game with guys that dont have goofy little tight rolls. First, they are the Style that Marines wear, with the insides revealed. The Army does theirs with the cuff rolled on the outside so the cuff of the roll isnt discolored. That and the current rolls are clear down below the elbow. That and it just isnt all that tactical. I'm wondering if there are some guys here working on models or somthing to fix that. With the great graphics this game has, I would hate for it to look weird like this. Why not take advantage of the game and make it a realistic as possible?

ArmA Addon request thread
{9thInf}GunnyMeyer replied to raedor's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Some true to life Marine uniforms. Maybe even with Name tags that each person could easily customize or somthing. I doubt that would work seeing how that's not how addons work. But still, True to life Marpat, Body armor, boots/cover w/ Eagle Globe and Anchor. All that jazz. They would be awesome looking if everything looked exactly true to Regs. -
Tightrolls
{9thInf}GunnyMeyer replied to {9thInf}GunnyMeyer's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
You can't really tick off unrealistic things of the Sahrani troops, seeing how there is no such thing as Sahrahni nor anything. You can't go look up uniform regs and Infantry Fighting doctrine with them. But you can with the US forces. And people wonder why only dings on US forces are picked out... Could this be why? -
Tightrolls
{9thInf}GunnyMeyer replied to {9thInf}GunnyMeyer's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
But then who would walk around on a tactical patrol with your sleeves rolled up into tightrolls. That isn't too tactical is it? Again, yes I am nit picking, but that is the point. This game is supposed to be the Ultimate Military Simulator. Well let's keep it that way and have absolutly everything right about the game. Why leave somthing wrong when you can fix it? Also, you don't notice the small things when under fire, so why use that as an example? You notice it when on a base, not under fire. PS, thanks for the Support Mr. Reality. -
Is anyone planning on doing a completely new model and everything for Marines? The US Marines have a type of Body Armor that only they use, the Army has a different type. I'd like to see ones with this type pattern, but some more distinct Pixels on the uniform. If you use the Marine body armor you can then put the 203 pouches and M16 magazine pouches on it for Grenadiers and such. You know, customize it for each Class. Make the units have a more distinct, special look to each. One thing we are missing though it the good old Eagle Globe and Anchor on the Covers. But due to the fact that you don't have the full mod tools, great work. Love it.

Tightrolls
{9thInf}GunnyMeyer replied to {9thInf}GunnyMeyer's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Yeah, like Faulkner said, all I'm talking about here is accurate protrayal. I was just wondering if anyone was currently working on an addon with new unit models that did not include the rolls, or if anyone was planning on doing one like that. Either way I'm sure the game is great, just loved the 3rd party realism addons of OFP. Having correct tightrolls would actually make you feel like you are taking part in an Army/Marine/Sahrani operation. I know that in the Marines that if you run around with tight rolls down around your elbows like in game you get your butt chewed off. Just makes the game more believeable to the trained eye. -
Tightrolls
{9thInf}GunnyMeyer replied to {9thInf}GunnyMeyer's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Yeah, I completely forgot about that. So you have the Covers, Tight rolls... there are harriers for the Army... that isnt right either. And the Cobra is the only Ground attack helo. That is unrealistic also. But I would settle for a new player model that fixes just the uniform. The others I can ignore. -
What I was saying is that he is complaining about the fact that you cannot instananeosly hit the deck and bring up the sights. Now I do not have a rifle in my hands right now to test that but I'm pretty sure that you can't do that in real life. I was not commenting on the claims made by other people about it being really hard to move and such. And who's to say that they had to get absolutly everything right on the first time? EVERY game messes around with the recoil on weapons as soon as they release the game. Also, MG's themselves arent Innacturate, it's the operators of them. It's pretty tough to keep a weapon undercontrol when it's dishing out rounds they way an M249 or M240 does.

Why did BIS decide to use this? Have they not heard all of the horror stories from gamers around the globe about how it killed their systems? And how Ubisoft was Sued for using it? I have a feeling that they just lost a big chunk of revenue from the US once it comes out. Hopefully it was a trial run to see how badly it would sell with it. God I hope it doesn't make it here to the US *crosses fingers*.

Poison, What you are complaining about it a lack of Arcadyness. From all the previews I've read and Reviews I've read and everything I've heard, this game is made to be MUCH more realistic, to point more to the large scale battles out in the open, with good battles in the cities and such. What Xcess is talking about is realism. Running around and popping shots and immediatly bringin your scope up when you hit the dirt is not realistic. If you go to some fansites, everyone there is raving about realism. I don't know about you, but most people I have talked to are looking for realism in this game as that is what they were looking for in the last one (OFP). Just a little FYI.
