  1. No thats not the case. I did not move my head in either of the pictures. Thats the default view as soon as you get in the plane. The FOV is just different in MP than it is in SP, and thats whats causing the issue.

If you want to put the white gun piper in the green circle in your HUD, you have to raise your head so far that you can't even see most of the HUD.

  2. This is a screenshot of the A10 in the map editor preview.

And now this is the A10 in Evolution V3 on some server.

Notice how the white dot is off center? It's really hard to hit targets in MP with the white gun piper dot sitting over that black square obstucting my view.

I think the problem is the the new patch zooms the fov in the aircraft cockpit, throwing the gun piper off center.

odd, because it only happens in MP.

  3. It was NOT a coincidence, the green square was where you were suppose to drop your bombs. You could be flying so high, where you couldn't even see the ground, and the ground troops couldn't even hear your engine and still drop bombs within 5 meters of the target using the green square. In cases like this, you don't even have to tilt the nose of your plane.

I know how to dumb bomb without the laser marker, and I can hit targets pretty good. but what I am trying to tell you guys here in this thread is the fact that there was computer assisted targeting before and now it is gone.

  4. I did tons and tons of bombing with the GBU harrier prior to the 1.14 patch, and after 1.14 I noticed something very different.

Before 1.14, The way it worked was, if you had someone on the ground to laze you a target, you could acquire and lock on to the laser marker. Then, your onboard targeting computer would generate a green square on your HUD of where you SHOULD be aiming when you release your bombs. You would then proceed to align your targeting reticule on your HUD with the square your targeting computer made, and release your munitions.

Heres a screenshot of it in action, right before the bomb is released.

**Notice how the green HUD square the targeting computer generated does not overlap with the actual white target square.

Now, however, after 1.14, your targeting computer doesn't seem to do anything! The green square generated by the targeting computer always just sits over the white square. This doesn't tell you where to drop your bombs or anything, it just tells you the location of the marker.

    Here is a screenshot

    arma2008-11-0906-21-09-26.jpg

Obviously, the green square rendered by the computer in the screenshot is not where you need to have your reticule to release the bombs (They will fall way too short).

I've dropped hundreds of GBUs in ArmA and, unless you have a perfect angle of approach, the green square and white square never line up like that.

The new targeting system is pointless, as you already know where the laser marker is, and dumb because now you have to actually manually aim your bombs at the targets with gut feelings. This leads to more inaccurate bombings and closer and more dangerous runs.

It took me a few friendly fire incidents to figure this thing out. I bombed like I always did, where the computer told me to release the bombs. They fell way short of the target and hit friendlies a few times and I knew something was off with the targeting in 1.14.

Has anyone else noticed this or is it only me??

  5. How do you set it so that people cannot make themselves admins on our server?

We would be playing evo, and clear half the map for several hours. Then, when we go to bed or take a break, some pubber comes in and votes himself admin and resets the map.

We do not want to put a password on the server, because we do want pubbers coming in and playing with us. However, we do NOT want them taking over the server and resetting/changing maps. I know it is possible to lock admin rights, as I've seen it done before on many servers.

Can anybody tell me how to do it?

  7. Excellent mission!

I´ve played it so much it starts to get...well "boring"...I know that most players don´t want addons in evolution but it could really spice up the mission & athmosphere, maybe a separate mission with addons and the original is left as it is.

Addon version could use some of these:

    - Ebud´s specops

    - Rellikki´s troops

    - Jonny´s marines

    - RHS mi-24 Hind

    - DMarkwick's DMSmokeEffects

    - plasman´s t72 and bmp2

    - Skaven´s RACS

    - Törni´s RACS M60A3

    - Skaven´s & Shadow´s NXRussian Marines & VDV (WIP)

...just to mention a few possible addons.

I was also playing Evolution 3.0 Rus-version in some server, in that version the sides were changed (you were sahranian), it was refreshing I must say.

    no

  8. I dont know if this has been discussed, by there is a odd bug where the harriers wont respawn when they blow up in Evo 3.0

It just blows up and stays as a wreckage and disappears. You can't fix it. Is this intended?
