i bought in usa so i assume USA version 1.91 ofp/res/dta/hwtl/merged.pbo 0x042c93ca ofp/DTA/hwtl/merged.pbo 0x042c93ca assuming 1.91 will use the res/ one (if it is there  ) we should only need to check res/dta/htwl/merged.pbo refer to this post for the res/dta/data.pbo results: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=31253

upon further testing i found that when i removed the addons and connected and still got messages like i described above, i was not exiting the game and restarting it and that this was the problem. Â if i resart the game with only editorupdate102 check files works fine. what i can say for sure is that the addons being present some how cause crc to not check the data files properly. 99% sure that it is only res/dta/data.pbo......data3d.pbo and res/dta/htwl/data.pbo........data3d.pbo that are affected.

Please look at the following threads for testing info on having this script in the server config. It overloads the processor on connect and will never catch anyone cheating because it is so unreliable. Marik did express some interest in working on a script.

Now in this next example we will compare the data.pbo that i backed up right after i reinstalled that DID NOT generate a message with the data.pbo that is in my res/dta/ folder currently and IS generating a message, using the same method that check files uses, crc32. The images on the left are the original "clean" file. the ones on the right are the file that is causing the message. all files have a check sum value just as they have a size and date and so on. ofp uses this same method with the check files code to compare the files, so i am told. as u can see both files return the same result using three different methods of crc32. yet the one on the right generates a message when connecting to the server. Given this why would any server run this code?

I know benu. and i have checked the files before as you probably remember with crc32. md5 i can't remember if i used that or not. The reason i am still harping on this and decided to reinstall and test this again is that there are a bunch of servers in the war games league (windows servers, which is what i tested on) that are still running this code and think that if u just reinstall and use a seperate addons folder it will work. which is not true. frag house probably does use a 1kb custom limit to prevent people from deleting your custom face from their temp file and giving u a white face.

Now in this next example i took the bas addons out of my regular addons folder after having loaded a delta mission. Then connected with NO addons in any floder. I got a modified res/dta/data.pbo message. Then a bunch of 1-8th joined frag house server and got accused of cheating. They are running check files. which is not really surprising check files or not. The only way u will convince me it is reliable is to say that if everyone does a clean install and never uses an addon ever.

Now in this example ET connects with only Inv1944 addons in his folder and gets no message. GodofGunnies connects with every addon known to man and gets the message. Seems consistent so far. Then GIKiller connects with every addon known to man and gets no message. If i connect with the bas addons and i get a message and Gi killer connects with the addons and gets no message how does that square? The one on the left is data.pbo right after clean reinstall with no addons. it is in a back up folder. The one on the right is data.pbo right after getting a message and playing a delta mission with the bas addons. both are from res/dta/data.pbo The time created on the right is the time of install. The time created on the left is the time i made the back up copy of the clean file. The exact size and time modified is the same for both files.

Now to make it more confusing a friend of mine connects with every addon known to man and gets no messages. I wish BIS would come out and say that this code is not reliable. At least if addons are used. There is alot of debate and these messages stir up alot of false suspicions. There has never been a comment on this subject since suma said that different language versions are different.

Has anyone found a fix for this? It happens to me more and more. E: is my cdr drive F: is my cdrw drive it happens in both drives, one is slave one is master.

I can't read through all five pages of this. i am with the 1st Battalion 8th Marines. We will change all the map names according to what you guys come up with. If spaces are compatible with all server environments than use spaces. My only suggestion is that the type, player number and map name are the most important and it would be nice to keep it all on the screen so you don't have to hover over every map. ch(30)thunder road v1.0 @ch(30)thunder road v1.1

i must agree with stoner. i have downloaded gamespy twice and twice i have deleted it. with 1.46 i use a host file and connect through the game. if for somereason i dont connect in game i use ASE. i will not use gamespy. now if resistance has an in game browser then thats ok with me but i havnt tried it yet. i would still much rather have the option of using ASE so that i can see where my buds are without ads and junk. it takes long enough to load the game and connect without adding the gamespy process to it.
