Hotel server is running at 48 49 at set up screen. Thank you Mal good find. Thank you Kegetys. Thank you all. Good night.
-
Thank you for the detailed explanation darkpeace. We use dual P4 2.4 Ghz CPU's with affinity balancing the load on them. MFCTI with loads of addons will effect it though.

How can one monitor server fps 'simulation iterations' on a ded ofp server?
-
This conversation is above my paygrade but I have to ask what exactly does it mean for the server to have 50fps. Clients connected to our server routinely get up to 60 fps according to fraps and fury. Are you guys saying that the clients never get above 32 fps without this little tweek? Not sure what it means for the server to get 32fps. Is there a way to monitor it?

What happens is whenever I run the server it cannot find the text block "Addon info block not found, building new from packages" It will down load one file and stop and not create a udp file. I tested it with an http server with only one @zip and same thing. If the auto-addon.txt is not in the root of the zip it all works but it installs using the simplified method and will install to regular addons folder on client by default. Thanks for any help you can give me. Windows XP On the server I have on: E:\auto_addon (this folder is linked to ftp url and has all the @zips with auto-addon.txt in the root of each zip) E:\auto_addon_program (this folder has autoaddonserver.exe and autoaddon.ini ofp server addy is hotel.1-8th.com port 2302 ftp is ftp://*******:*******@hotel.1-8th.com/ Here is a copy of autoaddon.ini i am using: // Any line starting with // is ignored by autoaddonserver.exe // These settings should reflect the actual OFP game server password "" port 2302 // These settings will be displayed in the client OFP Watch servername "1-8th's Hells Kitchen" serverinfo "http://www.1-8th.com" serveradmin "Zinco" teamspeak "hotel.1-8th.com" // This line will announce the server to the auto-addon browser server // If your server is private, just comment the line or change it to "announce off" announce on // Here's a list of packages required to play on this server // You may have as many packages as you like, just line them up // Packages that are not required like mission packs can be marked // with the word 'optional' after the url // // syntax: // package <url> [optional] // package ftp://********:*******@hotel.1-8th.com/@1_8th_all_1.zip package ftp://*******:*******@hotel.1-8th.com/@1_8th_all_2.zip package ftp://*******:*******@hotel.1-8th.com/@1_8th_all_3.zip package ftp://*******:******@hotel.1-8th.com/@1_8th_all_4.zip copy of auto-addon.txt AUTOADDON_START PACKAGE "@1_8th_all_1" INFOURL "http://www.1-8th.com" INSTALL *.pbo EXTRACT * AUTOADDON_END Each zip has its own auto-addon.txt

BTW Thanks for the help Kill Switch. Worked like a champ whatever it was that I did.........can't remember exactly now. Mal the server and FTP is passworded. If some lame ass admin wants to use my ftp for his autoaddon server I will deal with that IF it happens. Doesn't make sense to me that a guy would broadcast his username and pass just because it is possible for some kid to figure it out and leach it.

rgr killswitch thanks for the help. I will try that and let you know how it goes.
-
gee thanks for all the help mal. gosh you are so smart mal. how did you get to be so smart at this stuff?

1-8th Marines are looking for guys who still like to play OFP and particularly the WarGames addons. We have been an OFP squad for a long time and have always played in leagues. Right now we are in WarGames league and are looking for guys who want to play with a squad with those addons. www.1-8th.com
-
I think for most of us we got bored with the normal OFP game play and went to CTI for a change. It is the best scripting around. Plaz the 1-8th boys have been playing alot of CTI lately. I jumped into the scripts a bit to add some WG addons. Sensei has been messing with it lately. Come see us if you like. www.1-8th.com

I am hosting the addons and the missions at: www.1-8th.net click on ofp 1-8th downloads on the left
-
U can get 3.00 full install, 3.00 patch if u have 2.5, and missions at: www.1-8th.net Click on OFP 1-8th Downloads

where is that option loacated benu? and for another guy who is wondering .........does a linux server use a bat file that can be edited just like windows?
-
This is unrelated to OFP Watch but in regards to 1.94 and Mod folders, isn't 1.94 supposed to check to see that the server and the client are using addons and mod folders that have the same content and if not give a message? If so it seems it is just as unreliable as file check.

I don't think the error messages are problem. the problem is that you cannot patch goty directly to 1.91 you have to patch 1.90 first. The info on this page http://www.flashpoint1985.com/download/download.html#res does not reflect that. Here is another example: GOTY patch 1.91 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyone tried to install the 1.91 patch to the GOTY edition of flashpoint?? I keep getting error after error when trying to apply the patch. Mostly in the pbo files. ex. vulcan.pbo ____ "I See Dead People" yea.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've solved this for one person already, so your lucky.. here's what you do.. For the GOTY edition you need to update to 1.90 first.. http://www.codemasters.com/downloads/displayfiles.php?showdetails=4884 then update to the 1.91 .. good luck.. ********************************************** GOTY 1.90 and GOTY 1.91 should be on the page and labeled correctly. The GOTY 1.90 on the bottom of the page is labeled 1.91. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/download/download.html#res
-
I have three friends that just bought GOTY Edition. They have tried patching with GOTY 1.91 and it will not take. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/download/download.html#res patch on that page. Why won't it patch? all three guys get the same problem.
-
I guess no one at BIS cares about this problem.
-
Ace the whole point here is that that one does not work. It seems goty has to be patched to 1.90 first. 4 people in our clan have verified that the patch you point to (GOTY 1.91) does not work. You need this one: 1.90 http://www.codemasters.com/downloads/displayfiles.php?showdetails=4883 The other problem is that the link to that page is labeled 1.91 but it is really to 1.90.
-
Well on the BIS downloads page there is two links to GOTY 1.91 the middle one actually downloads the 1.91 patch, but it will not install. The 1.91 link on the bottom will download a 1.90 patch and it will install. On the codemasters page there are two 1.90 patches of different sizes. I am not sure if those work. http://www.codemasters.com/redirec....ont.htm The 1.91 patches do not work on GOTY period. The 1.90 on the bottom of this page: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/download/download.html#res that is labeled 1.91 will work. Quite confusing for guys who are new to ofp and just bought GOTY. BIS should be more clear on what a guy needs exactly and get the links right.
-
He said he tried that. If you know how check the md5 number on the o.pbo on the cd and compare with this thread. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=33188 http://www.blisstonia.com/software/WinMD5/

Gee certa good suggestion.....lol 1-8th used to play in an A&D league. I think it is long since gone though. I think i have some old maps though. I will look.
-
Battle field and cti are the jewels of the scripting in ofp. the problem is.......... well see above. I like to play battle field but i think it would be funner if ofp could handle more people. I think CTI needs about 30 on 30 to be fun and we can't do that. Maybe with 64 bit and a faster net in the future we will be able to with out having to pay per month to play big games like that.
