does PRUNE mean removing the trollers comments, or remove the whole thread ? if the latter - i will move the evidence to the 'bug' thread -

considering YOU still couldnt see the problem AFTER i put the 'BEFORE' picture in (just for you) from the SAME angle... maybe you should refrain from posting ? everyone else coped..sorry if it was so taxing and i didnt create a dramatic video...will get Spielberg on the case -

ok, got it reproducible now. placed a non-flying ka52 such that it explodes at the start of the attached 'mission': http://bradensmith.com/arma2/forumpics/whopper_with_bugs.zip its in the LOS of the sniper from across the harbour. doesnt cause the harbour section to raise 100% of the time, maybe 80% ... so try it a couple of times. I now get a much larger section of the harbour raising. Unfortunately this screenshot is a little hazy...in game was much clearer. -

Had an instance of a ground segment (approx 10x10m) rising approx 5m above its normal position. Was playing in a self made Chernaraus mission, with just myself (an AA soldier), and 3 choppers (KA52 normal&black and MI24v). Shot at one of the KA52s flying towards me, and it crash landed in the corner at 103135. Immediately the ground segment rose, the chopper going up with it. Chopper fell off shortly after. Alex72 says this has happened regularly whilst using bombs/arty in this area - probably easier to reproduce than my scenario. Pictures (AND mission to reproduce) in originally mentioned thread: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=79580 -

for those whose don't like reading...this is what the area looked like prior to said event: i'll have a bash at doing the bug report then -
where's rodriguez? ive ordered my number2 chap to go to the place on the map in the Hummer. Ive done it where he goes alone, and also where ive gone along for the ride. He drives there, and then all instructions stop. Theres no waypoint guidance anymore. Diary shows NO current task. Im guessing Rodriguez is the heavy gunner standing alone...how do i get him in the vehicle, or is there a bug? Still only got myself and number2 in the team, in the bottom left ofthe screen.

Joystick Setup for Helicopters

and unbind mouse from those axis too. mouse was bound by default, and caused vehicles/choppers to pull to the left and pitch down -
Joystick acting very weird

got anywhere with this yet ? i want to start doing the chopper training, with my saitek x52 and rudder too, but the chopper keels over to the left and crashes shortly after powering up no idea what to do with the slider in game, before i start faffing about with creating a saitek profile -
Saitek Pro Flight rudder pedals
whopper_with_cheese replied to subs17's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
i ran into this yesterday...doing early mission where u need to take out some armor at night..find secret documents and decide to steal the chopper sitting in same camp. jump in, realise joystick n pedals isnt setup, tab out, setup joystick, tabback in, take off - no bl00dy rudder. Cant set it up in game, or by using the saitek sst software. I cant even get the rudder on the x52 stick itself to work. quick search on this forum reveals this question has been raised many times - arma only allows one joystick device. people seem to be using ppjoy to get around this, but thats not an option for vista64, which sadly i am using. -
White Flashing of screen makes game unplayable
whopper_with_cheese replied to wazoo's topic in ARMA - TROUBLESHOOTING
i had this problem today with 180.48, i.e. white flickering i tried changing the settings: - Nvidia Control Panel Set [sLI Performance] to Force split-frame rendering Set [Vertical Synch] to Force off then ran the game... windows told me it had stopped working. I then went back into nvidia control panel, changed those 2 settings to original/defaults...ran ARMA, and its worked perfectly since. no driver change bizarre -
The Great Battle - uncompletable

yeh it works... try holding the SHIFT and MINUS for about a second. then type the rest did it 10seconds ago...waiting for the silly cut-scene of next mission to finish.. -

anyone finish this who was having problems before 1.02 ? i can certainly fly with joystick and hit stuff with hellfires easily - but still cant finish the level (i loaded from existing 1.01 autosave which was at the start of the battle). i dont think a single Yank on the ground died, i've decimated the enemy -
just make sure u copy your save file after youve made it to the base, so you dont have to restart the mission from scratch when u fail. Dont get too excited though, once u kill all the enemy you'll be left playing with yourself, stuck on the mission, like the rest of us are. I've gone back to BF2 whilst bohemia earn their 25quid fixing my game.

The Great Battle - uncompletable
whopper_with_cheese replied to Cirap's topic in ARMA - OFFICIAL MISSIONS
i finally found out that hellfires are much more accurate if you press fire when that little 'DOT' for a cursor is INSIDE the target box. ie your chopper is aiming directly at target. Also helps if the target is on flat terrain. Started getting 4/5 targets then. Not sure how to skip mission as i am stuck having killed all the enemy. But if you have just passed the auto save part - then save the game yourself, ALT TAB out of the game and go to the directory where the save game file is and copy that file to somewhere else. That way if this friggin annoyin mission decides to send you all the way back to the start, you can copy the save file back in and load it up again. im in same boat, cruising around in T72 mopping up. how did u rearm chopper lots of times? it would only let me rearm once, and just for FFARs -
righto, i've ditched the joystick and gone for mouse/keyboard - and i can comfortably sit 10metres above ground, behind the tanks at speed 5-20 and still hit nothing with the gayfires. anyone wanting a free computer ? - stand outside my window cause mines about to go through it. another query though: The mission briefing mentions you can TEAMSWITCH once the battle starts. Pressing my (not so) trusty teamswitch key does nothing. Anyone got it to work ? What do you switch to ? hopefully an AT soldier with enough rockets to destroy the enemy armour and 1 or 2 extra to take out the AH-1's for good measure...

ive had the misfortune to be up to this mission now. Ive never played a game in 16 years of gaming - where i just wish i could skip half the missions (defeating the purpose of playing the game in the first place). Armor and choppers feel so cheap and nasty. If you manage to survive the choppers not taking each other out at the start of the Great Farce, its the driving miss daisy trip at 20kph to the Tandang base or risk desertion that starts to get ones blood boiling. My main issue is: what does one have to do to get a hellfire to hit something? In manual fire or not. I try different angles of attack, stationary hovering, and will be lucky if 1 of the 8 take a target out. Long range, short range doesnt seem to increase the odds. Rockets seem to be a no-go as by the time you've pitched down to aim at something, the flight model becomes too lethargic to allow you to pull up and gain any alititude to clear the terrain. And just to rub it in, when its decided you've taken too long to try and hit *something*, it ends the mission forcing you to go back to the start (cannot resume from the auto save or manual save). Anyone offer advice on the hellfires, or can you just skip the mission altogether ? i've had a gutful

hey i dunno, i'm no graphics expert, i can only report what ive discovered so it might help someone in the same boat willing to experiment. It felt like the weapon was a direct extension of the mouse when aniso was off, rather than the ever so slightly 'not smooth' turning around, aiming weapon. I cant prove it without you sitting right here... so unless you're going to bring some beers around...lets agree to disagree! I have put it back on as im not willing to live with the visual sacrifice anyway. The roads really did look rubbish at say 100m. I've got AA on too since i like my smoooooooth edges....so that might be where i am getting a FPS hit too compared to you...i will play around with that later tonight, cause in all fairness i havent tried ARMA without AA yet. Finally, cause i'm willing to try anything once, i did take one of my vid cards out (as per some SLI users on some other forum who said it gave FPS increase for them) and the game did drop in FPS noticably. Bugger.

only one set of those pictures show anything above 35, so i think i will try and do a screenie in the same position (mission) you got that 50+ shot taken...but rest seem to have 30ish fps which is what i am getting now anyway after using 3dmark06 settings. Will help if I am benchmarking in same place... can you also detail the in game settings you have (AA, Aniso, PostProcessing, resolution etc). Think u mentioned 1280x1024 which is what i am going at too. reading other forums, it does appear the game does not support SLI, and some people have gotten better results pulling a card out will try that tonight, before my hair comes out. Will also try putting my older driver back on from the vid card manufacturer. It had a much clearer 'load balancing' thing that you could display on screen to see how busy the vid cards were during the game, i.e. wasnt just a horizontal line going up and down as per the latest nvidia driver. Might help in deciding if it is the CPU/something else that is bottlenecking the FPS.

he is replying to an earlier post of mine UNN. zero gain as prev stated Jaguax. SLI on (so windows tells me), same drivers as you, that setting doesnt seem to have an affect, hence why i was asking about profiles actually being active. I'm testing this by hosting an MP game, since im more interested in playing MP with decent frame rates, moving around etc. Maybe thats having an affect. Thing i was playing around with yesterday must have been the anisotropic. Turned it off and the game flew. FRAPs reported same frame rates but its lying - it was amazingly fast. Pity the roads looked rubbish with no anisotrophy on. As for UNNs little post - i have definately got 5 FPS increase in busy and bare areas according to FRAPS, and also feels a little smoother. Nice ! Must be something to do with that profile thats diff to my arma.exe profile. What i want to know is (yes, maybe a stupid question), is this game even supposed to support SLI? i.e. FSX doesnt, and doesnt support dualcore processors either. Just a thought since this is supposed to be more of a simulator too.

oh this sounds too funny to be true, but i'll give it a go what profile did u have set? i.e. im currently using arma.exe profile...did u somehow set it back to a default one first?
