Long time no see CiA! Some of the best gaming experiences i have had have been with you guys, as soon as you got an ArmA2 server going id love to join back in :)
-
Pretty quiet so far, only 3/4 of us playing atm. Guess I won't give up OFP just yet heh.
-
Do you have ArmA Gold Edition or ArmA and the QG expansion seperate? I have the gold edition and can't see those files...
-
Nice photos of Schmalfelden, MrCash. Just want to add one of my own to show the map's gorgeous countryside too.
-
I have the ArmA Gold Edition. When launching from the beta patch 1.12 exe the Queen's Gambit content is gone from in game. I can use it again by launching from the original exe. Is this meant to be like that? EDIT: Nevermind, ive got it, EDIT 2: Hang on, the only hotfixes in the dbe1/addons folder are hotfix.pbo and hotfix.pbo.bi.bisign, not the two mentioned there^ What do i do? =/

Ooh its been a while. And CiA has moved on to ArmA? Well im building a new rig this Friday and will be looking to pick up ArmA soon after. Joining co-ops with you lot again would be nice. Hope to see you in the near future then ^__^

The PSU not having the sufficient amount of amps on the +12V rails is likely. The whole computer would not shut down if so, it would shut down when the card is drawing more power (from playing games) and the PSU not being able to give it. But this two cable thing should be dealt with so, Barvo, have you tried connecting the second cable? After you put it in you should attempt to play ArmA and if it works well your problem is solved. If the same thing happens as before (computer shutting down needing a forced reboot) then yes the PSU is not powerful enough. It has enough watts, but the amps is the issue. Do not question it, just try it! Nothing terrible will happen.
-
Because wattage is not the only important thing in a power supply. Just like on processors for example, a 3.5Ghz Pentium 4 will be beaten by a 1.8Ghz Core Duo processor. The amount of amps supported on the rails is important, an usually overlooked detail that leads to issues such as the one in this topic.

Ok, you are Portuguese, right? Well I dont know of any online Portuguese sites but they would be expensive anyway. Go back to the shop you got the power supply from and see if you can exchange it (will probably need to put some more money into it) for one equivilant to the Enermax in my above post. On the +12V rails there must be a minimum of 22A (do not worry about what this means, just remember the values, write them down and take your notes to the shop, ask to see the label on the PSU if it doesnt tell you on the box and match the values up).

Bravo 6, your PSU is unfortunately insufficient. The problem you described fits this analysis. I had the same problem last week, my PSU could not handle the overclock I had on my graphics card and that exact same thing would happen. The computer would appear to be running but nothing would be visible on the monitor as if it were off and a forced reboot was required. That is now fixed with my new power supply. Did you order the PSU online or buy from a shop? Either way attempt to get a refund and look into buying something like this. Unrelated to your problem but thats an odd RAM setup you have there. If you were to get another 1GB stick the same as your current you could run in dual mode whih should prove to be much faster than what you have now. Something to think about for a future upgrade perhaps.

And what is inside the steel box, Jaspion?

Hi there, Its been a short while but I was hoping to play again tonight. Happened to run in some trouble with the FDF 1.4 update though, whichever site I download it from it appears to be corrupted. When I open the file, WinRAR will tell me that there was an "unexpected end of archive", if I install it and launch the game I hit error messages for missing files. Any suggestions? Cheers

There is not a lot they can do with words. The demo has obvious issues that perhaps can only be resolved in a patch. I wonder, with the rush of us fans wanting to get our hands on as much of the game as posible do we remember to do the simple things such as defraging our Hard Drives after installation?

I wont be happy if our enemy for game 2 turns out to be, again, communists with AKs. Im ok with it being in Armed Assault. But once its finished and BI start focusing on game 2 I hope they make a new, original enemy perhaps armed with the french FAMAS or something, just for a change you know? What would be even better is if we didnt play as the Americans! Perhaps if the USA wasnt in it at all. Why not play as the British or be part of the armed forces in a small European country or Pacific island?
-
They wont change or add anything to the game, so you might as well stop asking for the real time editor. Personally I would like a map of Sahrani, ArmA dog tags, perhaps a metal rifleman figurine (would look good next to my swordsman figurine from the Medieval II Total War SE) and a making of DVD. Cheers.

Im rather curious as to what type of missions the campaign will hold. So far all we know is the outline of the story and that there will be 12(?) main missions with many different extra side missions to play. We dont known what kind of missions these will be. You see I remember the original CWC campaign having a great variety of missions. The simple ones at the begginning where the charcters of the soldiers around you like Kozlowski and Berghof developed and then everything just went to hell in Montignac Must fall and After Montignac. After that you joined up with the resistance. Later you took the role of James Gastoski the Black Op. Then you moved on to tanks, planes and big assualt missions, commanding your own squad etc. There were about 50 missions i believe in CWC. Then came the Resistance expansion pack. In comparison to the CWC campaign i thought the Resistance campaign was quite poor. It started off pretty well and was quite interesting but soon it became repeated "go there and destroy enemy base" missions. I worried that the ArmA campaign will go the same way. So far to me it looks like the beginning will be simple "defend this place" missions and then quickly moving onto repeated missions of "take this place, kill all" till the whole island is under American control.

What do you think the Demo should have to best....
westy159 replied to linx310's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
I hope the title menu shows all the options available in the full game (Campaign, Editor etc) but have those not available in the demo faded a bit. Sort of a teaser if you will and to show new players what else there will be. -
I may be mistaken but were some of you saying that the MG42 fires at 1200 rounds per second? Thats insane! The MG42 fires at 1200 rounds per minute.

It does sound interesting, but i think you need to take a step back and look at Armed Assault for a moment. Can you see the amount of work it would take to turn it into that? I suggest you start small. Why not try to learn the art of creating addons in OFP? Eventually when you become skilled enough you can move onto bigger things. There are many guides to be found here if you decide to take this path. http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=39015

Unless im mistaken the famous chopper crash video showed the player flying with speed at 2x/4x (unless its just a fast chopper). Thats why he crashed so quickly.
-
I think you should be able to go up and down in water by using the same button that makes you assend and desend in a chopper (Q and Z in OFP respectively).
