I've played the Cold War Crisis campaign up to the mission, Incursion , where you have to sneak into Guba's house and steal information about his nuke. Well, the developers at BI must have put this up as a joke or something. For a start, you begin right at the enemy outpost at the fence leading into the base. I know it tells you to put a satchel charge next to the fence and blow it down, but the fence is two layers thick, and the charge only destroys one layer. To add to that, they're are a bunch of guys up in towers around the place, about two T 80s and a pesty BMP. To say nothing of about twenty trigger happy Russians running around. To add to it, the whole place is lit up like midday. But I got by here by blowing up the BMP with a LAW and sniping all the guards with my M-21. So now I'm in the base. I snuck into the area of Guba's house, but then I find myself with another T 80 that keeps following me around, patrols all over the place, and it looks like 15-20 troops stationed around Guba's house. Plus a BMP patrols the area, and a flood light makes your advantage of darkness nil. How in the hell are you supposed to complete this mission???

I just recently got hold of BAS's Tonal Island pack. Excellent addon. I can't get over it. Apart from a little bit of lag on some of the bigger firefights, it's superb. The problem that I have is with the campaign that came with it: Insurgency. For one thing, I don't like a campaign with hardly any cutsceans in it. Plus, the missions are poorly designed. I've gotten several error messages while playing, plus several missions refuse to end. I normally love BAS addons, but Insurgency needs some serious work. Now, an example of a nearly perfect campaign is Red Retallation. No THATs! Good!
-
I found that as well. When I play with huge addons, my system slows down. I removed some large ones like the ROC and PLA forces. That brought it back to speed. Now, my only large ones are the tonal pack, the Marine Assault pack, and the Delta Rangers addon.
-
Yea, I agree. The first cutsceen was absolutely great. I just would have liked to have seen more in the campaign. Guess I've been spoiled by playing Retallation too much. Damn, they use a cutsceen every 10 minutes there!

Nah, best thing is getting the motorbike and jumping off the huge cliffs in north Nogova with it. Cool!

LOL. No way. Angelina!

Um, I'm going for Lukin. He's a tough guy, and faces the biggest challenges in Flashpoint. Troska had a well equipped militia to help him, while Lukin often fights on his own. At least Troska didn't have to take down a huge base and airfield full of enemies with only one friend!

What's up with "Information" in Resistance?
wildbrumby replied to wildbrumby's topic in OPF MISSIONS
Yea, it's good fun. One piece of advice though. Take an RPG with you. A BMP shows up after you open fire. -
In the Resistance Campaign mission "Information", you have to sneak into a Soviet meeting, listen to it, and then get out undetected. Fine. I did it twice without cheating, but I've been using the "god mode" trainer lately for laughs. (just for the record, I can and have played all campaigns through several times without cheating). So I decided to disobey mission orders, which told you not to shoot anyone. I listened to the meeting, then went crazy, spraying ammo everywhere. I killed all the officers and the patrols around the building. A BMP arrived, which I destroyed. All this time, the mission obj. say that I've failed both objectives. But is it worth this? You get some great stuff! There are two spetz naz with bizons and skorpian submachine guns. Great things. Plus there is a sniper running around with an SVD and a crate full of mines and satchels. I loaded up one of the UAZs and took off to the civie car. Loaded as much as I could into it and took off. It said that I had failed the mission, but I then get taken into the next mission (Occupation). The mission is no different to the time I played "by the book". Any thoughts on this?

Yea, get Resistance. Great game.

What's up with "Information" in Resistance?

Yea, the cutsceen showed with the tanks leaving, telling me to make my move. I read in some walkthrough (Unsub's I think) that the tanks remain if you are detected. I didn't find this though. -
Yea, that shilka would have been good. My favourite part was leaping out of the chopper just before the shilka fired. You're invinsible then.
-
A quick and simple problem. I'm trying to make an assault force insert by chopper. I want the chopper to start in midair with engines running. I can get it into mid air, but how do I start the game with engines running? Thanks
-
Didn't I hear somewhere that the M1A1 can withstand much of the blast and radation of the nuclear explosion? Sounds a bit far fetched, but I got it from World Book.
-
Thanks a million guys. Didn't know that it was that easy!
-
I tried it as well. No problem what so ever. Great fun actually. I'm playing the resistance campaign as Rambo at the moment. The rest of my squad are just sitting back in a safe place twiddling their thumbs, while I tear around shooting everything up.

When I try to use the mission editor, when I preview the work, I cannot see the position of any troops on the map. You know how you can see a green or red circle where friendly or enemy troops are? Well, I can't see them there. Also, I can't see the position of my troops when I hit F2 to F12. Is there something wrong here?

...why miss the opportunity? I started out by running towards the small village where the Ural Ammos and the troop transport come to. I took out the two man patrol and shot the driver of an ammo truck. So it is now stalled in the middle of the town. The UAZ with about five guys in it suddenly comes into town. I go prone and target the driver. All the rest jump out. Take them out. I grab the AT launcher, and ambush the troop transport coming into town. Then I took out the M2 machine gun. The other ammo truck was now trying to escape, but he didn't get too far  . Now several soldiers are coming into the town. I hide in the house until they leave. I then load up with three satchel changes and run over to the woods overlooking a stationary BMP. Uh Oh, I see a Russian squad coming straight at me. I laid prone for awhile. I don't believe they didn't see me. I was only 30 meters away. Once they ran off I blew up the BMP, ran back to get another satchel and jumped into the BRDM. I drove over to the first fuel base. After taking out a few guys running around the edge, I alerted the entire base, so I ran off. Got into the BRDM again and drove like a mad man to the helicopter base. Almost ran into a startled T 80 on the way. Kept going. At the chopper base I waited in the bush until the patrol ran away. Then I crawled into the base and jumped into a chopper. The alarm rang and the BMP fired a shot at me. Didn't hit me though. I took off. The shilka fired a burst at point blank range, damaging me slightly. I then raked the base with rockets. I thought I destroyed the other chopper, but I must only have damaged it. The piolets were killed though. Flew back and blew up the shilka. Then I flew over to the two fuel bases and destroyed them. I am picking up hinds all over the place at this point, but can't figure out why I'm not being attacked by anything. I then flew back and destroyed the other chopper. I ejected 600 meters from the evac zone. The chopper crashed, and the mission was successful. But then I notice on the map that I'm now classified as CIVILIAN!!! I'm showing up as blue! How I don't know, but I am! The great thing about this is that nobody can attack me now! I "borrowed" the BMP off the squad near the evac zone and destroyed the T 80 at the small village plus several troops there. I then checked out all the bases shooting everybody and blowing everything up. Amazing! And nobody fires a shot at me the entire time! My score at the end was about 44 soldiers, 20+ machine gunners, about 4 tanks, two BMPs, one shilka, 15+ RPG guys, 12 officers, one hind (blew it up with an RPG) etc etc. My score was over 48000. Yeah! But why did I show up as a civilian after I jumped into the chopper? BTW: It's really funny how "Eagle base" keeps telling you to give yourself up or face the consequences after you jump into a tank.  You are promised that you will not be warned again. Sounds interesting after you jump in and out about 15 times! Plus, has anybody got any hints on driving tanks on manuel fire when you have no gunner? It's terrible! You have to move the entire barrell manually. BTW:

yea, I'm not complaining. Had a great time. Just wanted to know why it happened.

Does anybody have any information on where to get an Afgan Mujhadeen addon for Flashpoint? I've been looking for one, but can't seem to find it anywhere on the net.
-
Thanks a lot guys. That's what I'm looking for.
-
Hey! Not bad mate! I've never heard of this either! All my team-mates got wiped out (sigh), so I didn't get to see that.

I was playing the 90s Crisis the other day. The third mission is really hard. You have to stop three waves of enemy tanks at a road block. Brings back memories of Alamo, except Alamo was far easier! The first wave consisted of about three T 55s and a T 72. My AT guys took them out, but one got shot. Oh well. The Second wave took us by storm. I fired a Carl Gustev, accidently killing three teammates with the tank (ugh!). The last one was shot by a tank. But we defeated the second wave. Now the third wave. I got a mine and ran down and hid in some bushes. Laid the mine and ran back to the fortress beside the road. Thankfully the ammo crates with AT missles were just outside the door. One tank blew up on the mine, and the last three T 72s congregated around the fortress. The rest of the mission consisted of waiting by a loophole for a tank to drive past. Some how they didn't trig that I was in there . I shot two of them this way, then got another missle and blasted the third. Mission complete!
