    Virtual reality goggles

The edimensional glasses are amazing!! Â I've had them since last year and I never played OFP without them. Â Then i upgraded my card to a ATI 9800 and realized they weren't supported HOWEVER, edimensional just released new ati drivers so i'm a happy man! Â the new drivers are even better than the older ones because these have no flicker at all and the crosshairs are lined up much better. Â you should definitely pick up a pair if you have a few extra bucks, well worth the experience. haven't tried the head track thingy yet, next on my list of purchases if the wife lets me

    Trackir

I got one from edimensional with my 3d glasses. you can get it for 99 bucks if you have the glasses or if you only want the trackir it's still cheaper than naturalpoint. i asked naturalpoint if they were going to have support for ofp and sure enough the new drivers seem to do the trick. took me a bit to get used to it, but now that i did it's a trip. with the glasses on it's like i'm standing just inside the front of the monitor and with the added depth and mouselooks seems to make aiming much easier and more realistic.

    Ofp with 3d glasses

I'm using my edimensional glasses with the 30.87 dets and stereo and what a treat! Â They cleared up some of the crosshair bugs from a while back so aiming is not only better than before, but I find that I actually improved due to added depth of field. Â it's just so immersive i could play for hours. oh wait, i already do that

You should use the hotkeys to adjust the convergence and sterero separation which should clear that up.

You talked me into these 3d glasses...

You might actually want to go back and try other drivers, like the 27.20s. First, make sure you have the new nVidia stereo drivers, not just the detonator drivers. Also, have you used the hotkeys and stereo properties settings? That should allign your crosshairs and get the image looking sharp if that's what seems to be the trouble. Took me about 10 minutes of playing with the hotkeys and now it's perfect.

I checked out the elsas too. The problem is, these things usually require the latest drivers and with Elsa discontinuing their model, i wanted a company with full tech support. Good thing, because I had a minor issue with the original drivers I had installed and called edimensional at 2 am and got a live person who got me up and running right away. granted you pay a little more, but sometimes its worth it. just my two cents

The glasses are small and lightweight, like sunglasses, and you can see right through them like normal glasses, so you're not blocked from seeing the keyboard in any way. All the tracker is, is a reflective dot that sticks on the bridge of the glasses with a infra-red receiver that tracks the motion.  </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">,i wonder if you move head do you see all the world around you <span id='postcolor'> You can't look all around you, like behind you because then you're no longer looking at the monitor.  You can continue the pan motion, just like with joystick or mouse controlled POV.  (Man the more I talk about it the more I talk myself into getting it )  </span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote </td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE"> dang man, with those glasses and the head tracker thingy all you need is one of those arcade style guns you can point at baddies with and a tredmil so you can accually walk around in the battle field and its pure gaming heavin!!! Glasses for opf

There was a post a few days ago about the glasses at http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=9268. I love mine...I think they are truly incredible and it seems the others that have received theirs would agree. The way it works is it changes the image output into a left and right perspective and each eye sees only one perspective through the glasses so the image appears truly 3D like the real world. It's like some objects fly out at you and others appear with real depth, like you could reach inside your montior and touch things. A very cool effect indeed and it brings a whole new life to OFP. It does not change your aim when you look around. It simply alters what the image looks like. However, I'm looking at their other product, the trackIR which adds head tracking to the glasses. It appears that with this product, when you have the glasses on it tracks head movement so you can control aim and POV by looking around. Could be pretty cool as well. I'll report back if I get it, but I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll do my best. I think the edimensional really perfected some promising technology and the implications for OFP are profound so i'm happy to share the little wisdom i have with everyone:)

Edimensional glasses review on ofp vietnam

That will have a lot to do with it. I saw 3D glasses a while ago and I think they were ASUS. Their old drivers make aiming extremely difficult because you can't make the sight sharp and clear. With these glasses I can control the convergence of different sight planes, so close objects can be sharp and appear close to you and objects in the distance still retain the 3D "depth." Between the drivers and the old monitor, that will cause the low res, which must be annoying when you're used to running at 1280.

Edimensional glasses review on ofp vietnam

8Ball, I've been using mine for several months now and I don't think I'll ever stop. Â When I'm not using them, everything is just so, well, flat. Â Everyone I know who bought them when I did feels the same way. Â I'd say go with the glasses first, get the immersiveness feeling, then add surround speakers, etc (or you could get that force feedback surround sound chair from edimensional if you have $200 ). Â My shooting accuracy is way up, which I would expect because i can gauge distance and angles so much better. Â Aside from that, they are just plain NEAT. Â I think they are a fad for the less hard-core, who go from game to game and never really get into it. Â For those of us who are up all night playing our favorite game until we have to go to work in the morning, i would do anything to make my gameplay more exciting and realistic, and that's exactly what these do.

Edimensional glasses review on ofp vietnam

you can, but the color is just strange and they are rather annoying. The image quality and 3D effect makes gameplay worse with the red/blue IMO. Shadow, you should be in real good shape with that type of refresh rate. if you can get over 100Hz normally (before halving it), you won't notice any flicker at all.

Edimensional glasses review on ofp vietnam

haha, that about nails it... I'll try to explain...you see the world with 2 eyes so you have 2 perspectives, right? but in a game, as much as game makers can say something is 3D, it's really not, it's a 2D image with simulated depth. What the glasses do is use the software that comes with it to convert the output of your game into a left and right perspective. The shuttering of the glasses happens faster than the eye can detect, so you end up seeing only one perspective with each eye, hence, when your brain registers the image it is in true 3D because you're seeing a left and right perspective like the real world (which is why you lose depth perception when you close one eye). Basically, it looks like you took the glass off your monitor and you can reach inside it. Some images look like they are coming out of the screen at you, others appear far off in the distance like they should. Does this help??
  13. With regards to this post: interesting gif Seventh has this post about the glasses with more info coming soon: "if you have time I suggest you check out some pretty cool new hardware that works with OFP and other games. Its Edimensional 3D Glasses, they are damn good and about the same price as a good joystick. I've tried similar glasses before ( I think we all have ) but they were pretty ordinary and weren't worth the time or money to setup, but it looks like these guys have got it right. New Nvidia drivers support them as well... Also they have a motion tracking system as well that is pretty funky... check them out Here and read the reviews from all well known gaming sites, all have said the same thing as me...One really cool effect is to have a fire fight in a forest very trippy in 3D..." I'd say my accuracy went way up since I got mine. definitely a must have for the hard core

Murmur2k, Yes, nVidia only supports page flip with the stereo drivers for the glasses. Placebo, you said they contacted you. Why not ask for one? Ever write them back?

The other post is closed so I wanted to bring the replies over here. First, what caused me to buy the glasses in the first place was this review on SIMHQ: I bought mine around Christmas time after reading this review on SIMHQ by Crash: I saved what I think is the best use of the eDimensional 3D glasses for last. While several of the sims I tried worked pretty well to down right great, nothing compared to Operation Flashpoint or Rogue Spear, especially in heavy foliage. The depth perception, the feel, the immersion was unparalleled. I have tried, and have hanging around here still, several different 3D glasses. I started swapping things around to be sure I was not just forgetting what the older ones looked like. Nope, nothing I have ever tried, short of units in specialty shops for thousands of dollars a pair, can even come close to these. And even those spendy ones would get a pretty decent run against these. I am not sure I can play these games anymore without these glasses on. It took a few minutes to dial in the best settings for me, but once I did, I was hooked. Identification of targets near bushes seems more realistic and shooting accuracy increased as well. And trust me, in FPS games I need all the help I can get!. Unfortunately my daughters accuracy increased too, and she DOES NOT NEED THE HELP! Immersion and just plain AWE factor is huge. Crash is not exagerating...these are AWESOME!! I literally forget I'm not in the game sometimes the immersion is so intense. If you don't have a pair, go get em. You won't be disappointed. There was a question brought up about eye fatigue. As long as your monitor can put out at least 85 Hz, you won't notice any fatigue, even playing for hours. It's only when your refresh rate drops that it becomes annoying.
