Excellent sounds...just a few notifications: - AGS doesn´t sound realistic, my "field of speciality" in army was an AGS-shooter and mod-sound is a bit weak, it should be more loud and a little metallic. - Also the explosions when shooting AGS, sound "flat"...like a loud "splash!" (mod sound that is) FDF-mod had a nice sounds for AGS&AGS explosions. Anyways, keep up the good work! (JK/KAARTP´95 KrKk-miäs)

Sounds great! Does the sound addon cover all the inf.weapon sounds...namely ak74 sounds like someone is banging drums or something, just terrible.

Maruk from BIS has stated that there is a problem in the patch for some systems (cryptography something related...), fix is in the works.

I got it to work just like that, copied game files to my laptop and ran patch 1.02, then copied patched game back to my gamerig...that sort of patching just sucks! I could be a hardware related problem with the patcher. (chipset, hd-model, ram, cpu oc´d, even winxp language version...etc) Or the proctection system is messing up the patching, clearly they should renew the patcher entirely...too many people are having errors.

Got this message from metaboli support: "Dear Sir, The 1.02 patch is a retail patch and is not compatible with the download version. This is the reason why you encountering problems as the retail version uses a different protection system and installing it changes the game files. If you are unable to play the game please uninstall Armed Assault and then re-install it without it installing the 1.02 patch We will be sending a link in a mail next week so that you can update your game to latest version..." I was right all along!!

For majority lets say 95% it may work...guess I belong to the (un)lucky group of 5.

That´s it...got official confirmation from metaboli concerning downloaded version and patch 1.02 = not compatible! check yourself: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=56017 I guess metaboli will now receive tons of email demanding new download links...or link to patch 1.02 that works with dl-version. I was right!

My windows is XP SP2 32bit I have admin rights...all the time struggling with this shit.

Thanx for the effort JumpingHubert. -Download version of Arma is already patched to version 1.01 -Winzip11 says: "not valid archive" on both installation files (armedassault_setup.exe and setup01.bin) The CA.PBO in question is 115meg file in \CAMPAIGNS -folder, not the same name file in \ADDONS -folder !!! no use.

There are now few more topics concerning patching problems. My problem still persists, the patcher 1.02 still fails CA.PBO...no way around it. I even formatted my hd and reinstalled operating system + installed only essential system drivers (chipset & disp.drivers) there were no interfering programs (daemontools , alcohol ...NOTHING ) Then installed Arma on 20GB empty partition made entirely just for the game...run patch and result = error! Tried also in safe mode = error! Installed game also on my notebook = error! Maybe the problem is in morphicon DL-version or maybe in the patch...sent mail to metaboli support, hope they don´t tell me = "..please uninstall game and try again..." AARGH!

Update: TO YOU ALL!!, it must be a bug in the german patch 1.02!!! For someone patching goes ok and for some it won´t succeed. Got a working CA.PBO file and tried to patch and here is the result: (thought my orig. ca.pbo was corrupted, but no.) Error found in file Campaigns\ca.pbo (96f6ae05!=f5dbf2e2) Nothing to do but to wait for metaboli to give some solution for the problem. So don´t waste those installation licences like I did...only 1 left. Pity, such a great game fucked up by lousy and buggy patch-making. Big thanx to [CS]SOBR[1st-I-R] for help! Long live the community!

Reason for v1.01 ca.pbo is that I thought the 1.02 patcher won´t work correctly if there is v1.00 ca.pbo...hope it works. ...just registered to buyarma.com I got my sight on that file, perhaps there´s xmas after all tnx again.

If you can provide the CA.PBO (v 1.01) I´d be grateful!!! I´ve tried all possible tricks....and no dice. Thanks and salute!

Despite my avatar name i´m not a noob, (just a twisted jokename, sorry real noobies) The activation key doesn´t fit in installation key field...doh! Can someone check if the filesize of my CA.PBO is correct?,plz. my ca.pbo = 115 255 925 (that is v1.01) 6th hour with this problem, xmas getting closer and no way getting any help from metaboli support (mail sent - no response)...snafu indeed...

Tried all that...no help. I´m downloading the game files again, maybe I´ve got a rotten installation files (doubt that) WTF!!! im downloading the game files for the 2ND time and the metaboli download window claims I´ve used all my 3 downloads!!!! Heres the message: Nombre maximum de téléchargements atteint! Does it really mean it???... UNBELIEVABLE!!! It´s just that one file (ca.pbo v1.01)...I guess no one would send me that 1 file...??? h e e e e e e l p !!....

Yep, there´s defenitely a glitch in the morphicon downloaded version 1.01 of ArmA: I even REINSTALLED Windows and then installed Arma 1.01, after that tried to install patch 1.02 and I STILL GET THIS: ------------------Patcher window------------------------ Verifying ArmA: Armed Assault, version 1.01... You got it to work by reinstalling , which problem? problem with cd-key or those "corrupted files" errors? (ca.pbo weapons.pbo etc)? ...hope it´s the last option.

I have morphicon Ger-download version 1.01 of Arma (clean, no language patches etc modifications or addons) When installing the ger-patch 1.02 I get errors in: ca.pbo weapons.pbo air.pbo ...when i skip those files the patch-program says something = "patch file corrupted...bla bla" and download it again, done that and no go. Must be something that downloaded version requires own patch... Gonna buy the eng-box version when it´s released...42€ wasted Looks like some others have same problem.

I´d say it defenitely looks like gfxcard overheating problem.

I unpbo´d the weapons.pbo and changed some of the AK47 sounds with OFP sounds and then I rePbo´d the file and just when I get in the game there´s an error message "cannot load weapons_.paa*" (can´t remember exactly*")...I haven´t edited any *.paa files?? Got same error when I installed Novusordo´s Realism soundpack. Btw...the original AK sounds really S U C K ! update: looks like the winpbo program f*cks up the file when repacking it so I used CPBO and the error was gone. ...looks like I find topic concerning sfx: http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin....t=55269
