hiya...i need some info. on how you can select/deselect and command squad members from F11 >>onwards..at present i can only command F2-F10 with any more "off screen"....i realise itll be in the manual somewhere but i have the German version game and manual(patched to english) and my German is lousy.Any explanation much appreciated,many thx;regards.

crCTI running fine on lan here,tested 0.93/1.03 and DVD 1.51 maps stock Ofp islands and a few others(Freya,Goslar ++ etc)No lag or ctd in any.

Did you add a mod folder to the FFUR shortcut or put an "FFUR" mod folder onto your reg OFP shortcut?As regards slowdowns in -game(with ffur) that only really completely stopped for me when i got a decent gfx card tho' upping RAM certainly helped meantime.Regards.

I have the catalyst 6.3 drivers installed and am getting FPS in the mid 50s on stock Flashpoint(20-30 in Battlefield mission) with all of the settings turned up/DXDLL enabled.CRCTI missions sees it drop to sometimes 10-15......these a great improvement on previous cards but at the same time im thinking i could get it running even better.Anyone else with an x1800xt(512 ram) using earlier drivers and getting better performance?Stock core and memory settings so far....2GB system RAM/a64 3200 venice CPU.Many thx as always,Regards,

I used to run a 6600GT with a cruddy 300w psu,mind you the ampage on the 12v rail was pretty stable.6600le will probably ship with 4 pixel pipes as opposed to the 8 in a 6600 and 6600 gt...unless you very lucky and get one of the earlier models it probably wont unlock to a 6600.Having had the GT i can say it good for a less expensive card,great overclocker if you add a decent HSF,good one with stock fan,plays all new games on medium settings no problem...definitely worth paying the bit extra for over the 6600/le.Look at this..Å88 for a 6600gt..dunno what shipping to Sverige will be tho' http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/6600_Series.html

Does anybody know of a generic app(s) that :* Monitor GPU tempurature depends on the card;the 6600gt needs a BIOS flash to enable it;think the Ati 9000 series mostly cant be read tho' some makers added a chip but dunno which ones.

You say youve got 768mb RAM at moment so im guessing thats 1x256mb stick and 1x512mb stick...get another 512mb stick(assuming youve only 2 RAM slots)..you dont need to upgrade your processor to add to your RAM.If i was in your position and i absolutely HAD to get a graphics card right now to use DXDLL and run modern games at medium settings id go for the 6600GT from one of the links at Å100 because it will definitely work good with your system,youll see the increase in performance clearly and for Å100 its a great card(i wouldnt worry about which brand,theyre all good) as well as upping my RAM to 1GB total.If i was thinking smart id ask myself if i could carry on with my current system and put that Å250 towards what i said before,a refurbished/used/new? athlon 64/Pentium4 pci-express system or.....you could get new an A)athlon 64 processor for approx. Å100 B)a PCI-Express motherboard for Å50 C) a 450-500watt power supply for Å50+, use your old case,RAM,hard disc drive,cd/dvd/ROM drive and put remaining Å50 towards a pci-express graphic card,save another Å100 or so for the card(like a 7800 gt) and HEY! a new system thats gonna run games that come out this year and next,totally eat up OFP and is easy to upgrade for the near future.There are dozens of sites and forums full of guys who can tell you how to do this and help you with any problems.....lol thats what id do (have done),but failing that you wont be disappointed with the 6600GT,that with the RAM increase will probably up your fps into the high 30s/40s(but like ch_123 says above make sure your motherboard has an AGP8x slot not just the 4x-if you got the manual for it itll say in there,if you dont have manual have a look on the board itself..youd be unlucky if it was only AGP4x or less i think but try find out).Good luck. As for overclocking stuff...it almost always invalidates any warranty on a component(as far as i know only 1 graphic card manufacturer covers o'c ing in their warranty,eVGA i think)...small overclocks on processors and gfx cards are relatively easy and not so risky,but,well,most everyone wants to ramp things up "just a bit more".............

Havin said all that^^ maybe think about the future(OFP2/ArmAssault) and what they gonna need to run good?Å250 could get you started on putting together a new rig or searching like crazy for a used Athlon 64 or P4 PCI-Express system maybe with a rubbish graphics card but bearing in mind that your equivalent PCI-E cards are generally Å20-30 or more cheaper than AGP ones and the cards we on about just now arent top of the range and are going to only go down in price.

Woah!!....that 6800 gt is WAY overpriced by at LEAST Å50(you can buy a 7800 gt for Å201incl. vat).Heres some links to cards you may want to consider. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/6800_Series.html and http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/6600AGP_Series.html and http://overclock.co.uk/customer/product.php?productid=19003 and http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/ your system specs. are very similair to my older pc,same processor,1GB of RAM,300watt psu with the 128mb 6600gt...i could run new games np..brothers in arms ran great,regular Flashpoint with DXDLL ran great too(40+fps), even mods such as Y2K3 ran fine(30-35 fps) all with decent settings,not maxed out but all medium.Id agree with previous posters that buying a top of the range card would be a bit of a waste of money as these really need a good power supply(absolute mininmum 400w) and an ok processor so you can max. everything out and see what youve paid your money for.It seems also be a common belief that paying extra for a 256mb card is also false economy...cash paid for performance gained leaves you short...,again unless youve got top of the range components right through and want a couple of hundred points added to your 3Dmark 2005 score...in practical use(games) 128mb is fine.If i was you(lol) id look for the 6600GT 128mb as definitely meeting the requirements you said and with cash id saved get your RAM bumped up to 1GB(more RAM always good for OFP)...if i WANTED to spend more cash so i could ramp up my settings a bit more go for the 6800 gs(but make sure your power supply unit can handle it)....i reckon anything higher than that and you not going to see where your cash has gone.The ATI 9800 pro is still a good card but the 6600GT totally chews it out in all benchmarks and at around Å100 its better bang for buck.As for overclocking...you can tinker with your graphics card(as well as your processor,motherboard and RAM) to make their performance increase(e.g. i got the same processor as you running at 2.1 ghz instead of 1.83) which is often where which brand of card you would go for is a factor i.e. Leadtek ,XFX,eVGA,Xpertvision,some makes are supposedly better overclockers than others because they have better cooling or supposedly better cores and/or RAM chips...overclocking nvidia cards is easy using the "coolbits" programme which does it automatically while keeping the overclock within a safe limit...going further than that usually requires you adding bigger cooling fans/systems to components and being VERY careful.Good luck...prices for stuff varies crazily,its easy to get ripped off just by not searching thoroughly but i reckon those links will be the cheapest for UK.

If your looking for a good AGP card to run all the latest games at decent settings think about a GeForce 6800 GS which has just been released as AGP version...this card falls midway in performance between the 6800 vanilla and the 6800 GT but apparently is an overclocking beast (download the "coolbits" overclocking program for chimp-easy overclocking).Benchmarks for the GS are very respectable and it seems to be the current card of choice for those looking for performance on a budget(Å150-Å175)..have a look on overclock.net forums for more info. about it.It seems theres no plans for nvidia to release the 7800 GT on AGP.At moment i have the 6600GT AGP overclocked to the max. with a zalman cooling fan added and while its been a good card im starting to get narked that i got to play everything on medium settings with no AA or AF to keep good fps.Building a new system on PCI-E and the last component still to get is the gfx card...only after much research and thinking have i decided to go with the 7800 GT over the 6800 GS but it was close.....(check some forums too...overclockers uk forums,overclock.net and overclock.co.uk good advice and info. and good links to the cheapest components for the U.K.) g'luck.

Im getting the same with 7.3...any more than 3 or 4 bits of soviet armour and fps drops to where it unplayable,dont matter whether DXDLL is on or not.I think my system underpowered for 7.3...Athlon2500+xp,1gb DDR RAM,GeForce 6600GT.

For 6600GT try the Forceware 78.11 drivers from Guru3D.com...i had the Omega 66.93 in which were fine but this one is definitely much better(marked improvements running DXDLL,ECP1.085,Y2K3,Lasers cti upgrade missions etc)..give it a shot Sch1sm.

Had same problem for a while...its there,just off the screen tho'-move the cursor off the bottom of the screen and fish for it,you should get it (left click and drag until you get it).

I installed a 6600 GT a month ago,colours/textures etc all great but FPS was a let down despite following all the tweaking advice i could find was getting average 30fps in regular BIS missions,25 in anything with more than a few add-ons and in CTI was less than 20 or 10...these with DXDLL..without it would maybe gain 5 or 6 frames...however,i recently upped RAM from 768 to 1GB and now i much happier,add another 20 frames to all.I think you got to make sure you tweak ALL your settings for performance and have nothing less than a gig.Oh yeah,also installed the omega drivers which as far as i could tell for me was worth a few more frames.

'Lo again..these are the 2 error messages im getting,this one on starting up FF5 "Error loading lsr_uswp\m72\lsr_m72a7_e.p3d(Magic)" and this when i get to mission briefing "Error loading lsr_uswp\m72\lsr_lawrocket.p3d(Magic)" i truly not sure if these have been there since i installed and ive just always shot straight past em because they dont cause a non-load or crash and i dont use laws, or they just appeared recent...ive tried swapping out the lsr_uswp pbo. for a "clean"(?) one but no joy.....anyhow,thought it may be something you may wanted to know about Thunderbird and i must say i think this mod is great,big thanks to all of you.

Regards all...somethings become apparent to me since i got a few missions into the CWC campaign,ive no animation for the law (but a menu choice to use it)if i select it the guy takes an empty handed pose and if i sight it the whole screen spins...hadnt noticed it before now 'cos in single missions dont really use laws,prefer the M47 in FFUR or CG's in normal...ive un/reinstalled FFUR5 and still same problem...anyone else having this difficulty?Oh yeah,clean addon folders,Mod folders all the way...no other problems noticed with FF.Any ideas/advice much appreciated.
