Hey anyone at bis whats up with the login? after i login(which used to be automatic) and change pages it logs me back out. how come?

im sure it does its probably something on my end but i just dont have time to trace it down. if this is the worst thing i have to worry about i can live with it. i'll figure it out eventually.

wardog hit it exactly. why would they want to spend the time pouring thru all these posts most of which are either profanity laden complaints or arrogant know it alls who cant make a single civil post. i'd say we are all lucky they havent either shut it down or removed access to anyone who cant just ask a question politely or reply with the common courtesy people deserve. and as for speaking czech well if they expected us to speak it the forum would just that. the fact that a handful do doesnt mean we all would. so far i would have to say the support for this game has been far better than most american made games (yes im an american) what most people forget is the forum represents only a miniscule number of people that contact bis daily.sure they could hire a ton of people to support the game as long as you dont mind paying 3 times what it cost to buy it.

no it doesnt matter how i switch the pages it comes back as guest not my login. at first i thought i had cookies off or java removed but they werent it happens with both IE and nutscrape. dunno somethins wierd.

id be kinda surprised to hear that gspy3d was being considered. once gspy came out with arcade they seemed to have dropped 3d. i always liked 3d better because it didnt have any of that annoying crap that arcade does.

i think its in the faq that avon lady has made. its got something to do with the way you upgrade. i had the same problem. i had used the 1.27 and 1.29 betas. i started at 1.20. i had to reinstall and just do the 1.20 to 1.30 upgrade and it fixed it.

jester, i think mal is basically trying to say ingnorance of the law is no excuse. but if you dont understand something and you dont ask how are you expected to know. but he is right the laws on copyrights for software havent really changed much in 10 years. you basically are entitled to one working copy of the program off any one cd. if you installed it on one machine thats your one copy. if you want to switch to another system you have to delete the first one. usually if you are allowed to make multiple copies the cd will have multiple licences like windows nt or windows 2000 does. you probably shopuld try e-mailing bis if you want them to answer you , i just doubt they will.

kill is absolutely correct , at almost 4 feet long and 9 pounds, the m14 is a "battle rifle" or dmr(designated marksman rifle) its too long and too heavy for an assault rifle. however it was used as one before the m16 and ar15 were introduced but they didnt have anything else with the power and accuracy to choose from.but it still was never classified as an assault rifle. the m21 is even heavier at 10 pounds and thats if you use the stock scope. frisbee hit the nail on the head on "effective ranges of 600-800 meters" i have fired them both on the sniper training course at ft. benning ga. in the actual field course the m21 with the scope could keep its accuracy up to 1000 meters( at three round bursts) as long as the wind was very light. if you adjusted the scope for distance and wind then you could push that range to 1500 meters but you would have to check your sighting wioth each round. the m14 was great up 800 meters but fell apart rapidly beyond that range. with no wind you could make 1000 meters but your fire had to be very delibrate. as far as this game is concerned the m21 seems close enough for a game.

actually i dont who made it but there is a mod of the lst that you can pilot. you cant do much with it and it i believe it was for ver. 1.27 i htink used the lst skin on a regular patrol boat. maybe that version would allow a chopper to land on it , i dunno.

sounds like the definition of fade to me. basically the copyright law limits you to one working copy per cd per machine.fade would detect the second copy of the game as an illegal copy.but hopefully one of the guys from bis will confirm or deny that.

it would nice if there were a drop down in the script box with some predefined scripts for those of us non script writing players.

do yourself a favor and stop being a microsoft guinea pig. uninstall xp. microsoft only does preliminary beta testing they are far too cheap to try do any extensive tests. they find it far more profitable to allow the public to do their work for them. anytime and i mean anytime microsoft comes out with a new product not just o/s's wait for at least one or 2 service packs come out before you rush out and switch over. remember this addage "if it aint broke dont fix it" if your o/s is running fine then let it ride and let some other poor slob beat his head against the wall for uncle bill.

ah i see. well it still doesnt happen to me and i also have done a clean 1.20 to 1.30 upgrade. also hellek didnt happen to mention his version or upgrade status. maybe its also a different soldier other than the one i tried. it could be a million things i guess.

actually it shouldnt take a new product to accomplish that. they essentially could make you a camera veiw but it would probably take enough code to have made a new game. its just another case of hindsight being 20/20. you cant expect them to have thought of everything.

havent read the faq myself but i did just try the laser with a russian heavy gren..... no crash tried all veiws including the third person veiw it worked fine for me. sounds like it might be 1.27/1.29 weapons conflicting with 1.30 or something like that.

you actually can tell if a tank is occupied or not in a couple of ways. one look at the exhaust pipe is smoking it will be if there is someone in it. the other i have found is if you watch a turret it will turn as they scan the area. the other thing is if you are playing as an officer you should be giving orders to not fire until its time or giving your men targets remeber its a team and its up to you as a leader to command your team , not just try to make all the kills yourself. if your playing as grunt and the just fire at will then yeah that needs to be fixed the officer ai should be tweaked to prevent giving position away by making contact too early.

the U.S. is becoming more and more concerned with stand off combat tactics and weapons. thats why you are seing the landwarrior equipment. there are variations that now have a liquid crystal display and small camera mounted to the m4 so all you have to do is put your rifle over/around a corner to see and kill your target.sooner or later they wont use human troops anymore they will use mechanical "soldiers" controled by remote computers. and can you blame them being shot realy realy realy hurts. and the reason they dont train with full auto is they would rather be accurate then just fill the air with lead , thats what they have the 249 and m60 for. but i can assure you vietnam is the reason they altered the m16 to go burst and semi only , i worked for colt for a couple years and the entire story is their museum.
