something we all have to remember. if there are a 100 people from this forum e-mailing bis and cm then there are 5000 more you will never see i had to e-mail a question to them it took over a week to get reply but i did get one.

i had done the 1.29 to 1.30 patch and the laser designator gave me an error saying it couldnt open the laser.pbo. i dumped the addons reinstalled(i have us ver) and upgraded to 1.30 and so far so good. but sometimes you may need to just totally uninstall the game(i have had to edit the registry to remove any refernce to the game i uninstalled but i only recommend that to people who have some knowledge about it) then do a fresh install and upgrade. just make sure you save your missions and user folders somewhere so you dont loose anything you created.

fat boy what type of internet connection do you have? and are you only getting this error on dedicated servers or any game available?

i know what you mean boonie. sometimes when people pay for something they expect it to be all inclusive. the thing is with software the variables are so numerous giving every possible scenario would take a decade of developement.i think tho for the most part its frustration. or in some cases its the "i had to do it the hard way so you go figure it on your own" or just plain old rotten attitude. i have only been on the forum a few times now but there do seem to be some very helpful people here. its just a matter of being patient and waiting for a reply.

i was wondering if the scuds can actually be used? i know the will launch but is it just a glorified bottle rocket or can you target something and hit and destroy it with the scud? i would like to use them in a mission for a sort of artillery but if they are just for decoration then its pointless. any help would appreciated.

i would like to see assault and rescue ladders also but just so you guys know you can very slowly lower a chopper into the very dense woods(the ones tanks cant move thru very well) and land i do it all the time.it will crash the chopper once in a hundred tries but i have made a few missions were the pick up point is in those woods to give some cover for the chopper and the troops. one hint tho dont try this on a hill it has to semi level ground. ie if you couldnt land on terrain with out the trees you wont be able to with either.

there seem to be quite a few missing things from the game.not necessarily from the demo but where is the apache longbow and hellfire mmwave missles they were available in the 80's? and how about cluster bombs for the a10 or even a tomahawk cruise to counter the scud(which i guess is window dressing) but then again i suppose it would be asking quite a lot to get the amount of hardware everyone wants. and then we would all want nukes next(well i like playing the odds so nukes could be kinda fun)

if the crew abandoned the vehicle its done for. its just not at the point of blowing up. and you can switch to manual use the ffars and anhilate the tank.

mr z something you might want to take note of actually all users of xp or win2k. it is based off of windows nt/windows 2000 technology. with ntfs it cannot be seen with any dos or fat16 drives. you may never have a problem with it but you should at least be aware. also xp and nt/2k ,the operating system doesnt allow direct hardware access by programs other than itself so if you have an app that tries to control memory , cpu, video etc... it may seem as if it works but it wont. unless it is able to be installed as a service of the o/s. so if you experience any odd problems for which you have no explanation it is most likey due to one of these types of conflicts. as long as your drivers and apps are specifically written for the o/s you should be fine. as for using an eval. it is completely legal as long as you dont mind reinstalling all the time.
