Nothing new to add, just want to say I'm really enjoying solo warfare and looking forward to some fixes for AI troops and vehicles getting jammed. Even if they are moved back to HQ when they get stuck, self destruct, or there is a stalinist "purge non-moving troops" button or something. In my games if an HQ is near a town with a bridge, that side will lose because vehicles will endlessly jam on the bridge. Anyway, it's great fun still.

Add On Compilation for more Realism and Immersion
tecumseh replied to the.d's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Great thread - very helpful for a noob like me. Thank you. After installing many of them, I've got two questions: When I carry an AK-family weapon, in first-person view, there is a small gap between my thumb and the gun I'm supposed to be gripping. Is this normal? Is there a way to add the extra weapons to the GEAR menu in warfare? i.e. so I can purchase non-standard weapons. I know how to unpack the pbo, just need to know what to edit. [edit - sorted this, it's the loadout config file. Just add the weapons you want, make sure the ammo name is correct, and make up a $ cost. Thanks for the reply D] Thanks -
Yeah, your description is exactly what I did. I'll re-download and try again. Cheers mate

I finished the 3rd mission - it was just as good as the second. It's great that every time I think "gotta pull back" or something, your script has someone shout the same thing. Very immersive. Again I shot a comrade! But I made up for it by emptying 60 rounds into an enemy humvee with both my legs shot out. I think I killed a handful of enemy soldiers all up, but it was hard to tell. In my report I'd claim 7! Again, very realistic. More missions just like these! Your attention to detail and realism is appreciated.

I had a bit of trouble, though I am new to ArmA and OF. I enjoyed the opening para invasion. But I had 8 enemy soldiers swimming harmlessly in the ocean, that I had to go around and kill. That felt a bit silly. After that objective, I got stuck in the boat, with a strange waypoint 'clear beach' further up the island, and my team being unresponsive. I'll try again tomorrow, as I may have done something wrong. I'd like to play the rest.

I just completed the first two. Excellent, and very realistic. So little cover, and intense, confused combat. Hiding behind a hay bale with my entire platoon dead around me - waiting for support - I panicked and shot a friendly at 200m. Poor bastard. The serious part of combat - movement, cover, los, sa - is represented really well. Actually firing my weapon is less important, as it should be. Great stuff.

Haha I suspected I was being stupid, but I didn't realise THAT stupid. Thanks for the speedy help guys. I'm looking forward to playing these...

I copy the pbo files into my campaigns folder and start Arma and I get the warning: no entry "campaigns\THE%20CAUSE.Sara.PBO\description.ext.campaign" What am I doing wrong? Sorry for the noob question...

Yeah at one point I was watching helplessly through binoculars as one of my support platoons about 500m away was ambushed then hit with arty. We rushed over to help, but it was too late. Needless to say, revenge was extracted. It reminded me of The Thin Red Line - crawling up a hillside with tall blowing grass, trying to sight a dug-in enemy. Even bugs to look at...

Just want to say thanks - I am really enjoying these missions. I just completed the battle across the mountain tops to destroy the artillery, which was great fun. I haven't bothered with the ArmA campaign - this is much better.
