anyone having a problem with squads? After a while, when I tell them to return to formation, it tells all the squad member to follow someone else. It changes too, one time I'll tell them to return, it'll say all follow 4, then later i'll do it again, and it'll tell them to all follow 5

you don't see a problem with AI that only hits the deck when it's fired on the middle of a city street and sits there or the fact that if one member of the team dies, another will run to that exact spot and die, then another will go there and die, then another...

I think any cover system should stick to first person to prevent seeing anything that you shouldn't be able to see. As long as you can turn it off or to 1st person in server options cant see any harm on it. You can play the hole SP game in 3rt person anyway. But I agree, the Vietong system seems more suitable for ArmA, dont ask me why . And yes I played Vegas. whatis the vietcong system? I did a google search for movies but I couldn't find any showing the cover system

I hope this was written with tongue firmly in cheek. as firm as you can get my point was that the AI in this game esp in urban combat likes to go prone in the middle of the street. In Vegas, the AI also uses cover and they use it really well. Adding that to ArmA would be a great change.

this suggestion is completely ridiculous everyone knows enemies don't use cover in real life, they go lay prone in the middle of the street. Cover in this game is needed not so much for the player but the AI. This would change urban combat completely and I mean COMPLETELY, for the better too. Seeing the way the current AI tries to fight it's way down a street is pretty sad. For the player, you wouldn't be able to implement this without 3rd person for the reason that someone stated before about feeling. With 3rd person comes unfair viewing angles and being able to see around corners. For the AI, they don't have that "feeling", they know when they are right up against a wall, tree, car ect and you would be able to program them to have to peak around a corner to identify targets.

One thing I hope someone is able to mod into the game is something that mimics the way AI take cover in the r6:v. However, I think this would only be possible with serious modifications to the engine. It would make city combat so cool to have AI soldier utilize corners and take cover behind ordinary objects.

didn't read the thread but I think this game has so much potential. I can't wait for the community to make this game even better. Also after playing rainbow six vegas, I can only imagine how cool it would be if your AI could take cover like they can in RS:V!

sweet they added ithorains, hopefully they'll add bothans next

you mean the 14+ page one? Seems to me most people are talking about performance and aiming issues in that thread. This is a serious problem that I need to know if it's going to be fixed for retail. Is this supposed to be a game that is squad based, or a game where your friendlies can't help and you have to rambo to win?

the enemy AI is WAY to good. At 250m, enemy PKM shouldn't be killing my snipers in 2 shots while my snipers miss half of theirs. Friendly AI in humvees miss way too much and fire too slow. Is the AI bugged or am I going to have this to look forward to in the fullgame? You should be able to use your squad, not just have them sit in the back and use them as respawns.
