  1. A friend of mine from work recently got me to try out OFP. Â At first I thought it was horrible just because everytime I saw it's graphics I wanted to gouge my eyes out with spoons. Â I eventually gave it a chance and now I can't stop playing this game. Â The Co-Op game play is amazing. I decided to check if there were any graphics enhancements for this game and came across Y2K3 and FlashFxUR. Â We both seem to like Y2K3 because it gives the game a modern look. Â Now Y2K3 is great if you're playing single player, but multiplayer is another story. I have setup a dedicated server on a spare machine just so we could play Co-Op games without either of us hosting it on our machines. Â The only problem is if I lauch the server with either the Y2K3 mod or FlashFxUR none of the missions work or the server just plain crashes. Â I have tried both Linux and Windows as an OS. Â Windows will at least launch the server where as Linux just dies immediatley. Â Whenever we try to load a mission on the Windows server it says "Error loading data3d\vlajkstozar.p3d" or just crashes completely. Are there any total conversion mods that are MP friendly? Has anyone gotten Y2K3 or FlashFxUR to work on an MP server? What are the drawbacks to not running the mod on the server and just running them on the clients? I have read a few things about capture the island. This really doesn't sound like something we'd be insterested in since we only play Co-Op missions.

    Which OS for MP server?

Okay, Okay, lets not turn this into a Windows vs. Linux discussion. I've already made my decision on platform (Linux/BSD). I just need to know which distro is going to work best out of the box. I'm seeing some newer versions of Suse and Redhat use a modified glibc library that doesn't play nice with the OFP server.

    Which OS for MP server?

Currently I'm running FreeBSD 5.4 due to the simple fact that the minimal install is just that...minimal. I'm having a lot of issues and I'm not sure if it's my operating system, the linux flashpoint server, or just user error. I would like to run a server with the Y2K3 mod but everytime someone launches a mission it crashes. What OS do you guys run? I'm trying to stay away from Windows just because I want to spend less time patching the OS and more time playing OFP.

    Linux server won't run mods

I have a computer with FreeBSD 4.5 running OFP 1.96 dedicated server. It runs fine if everyone is running just a vanilla install of Resistance, but most of my friends run the Y2K3 mod or FlashFX. I've tried loading both Y2K3 and FlashFX on the server but when the maps load it just segfaults. Anyone have any clues?
