Also, any too hard mission in an campain can be skipped from ingame (cheat)

    Alt-Tab never works

    Use Alt+Esc ...
  3. Hmm, Slyman, looks like you are out of luck. Somethings amiss for sure. Your best bet to complete the mission now, is to hit 'Escape' while you are IN the mission and choose 'Restart' (this mission only) Sorry, that I cant help you more here...

    Red Hammer-Repulsion mission

Dont bother using Strela's. It gets you killed for sure in that mission (defend St.Pierre, 2 Chinooks and paratroopers, correct?) Fill up fast on AK-clips, and find an nearby bush. Then either shoot(rapid single shot; not bursts!) directly at the gunner of the first Chinook, which hovers above the town to the north(because this one is a sitting duck!) OR generally at the chopper, until it crashes down, once he has unloaded his freight. Problem is, _this_ chopper kills ALL your buddies, (and you) before they even can begin to react against the incoming paratroopers. Since the second chopper circles (and thus only fires partial time upon you; not when he turns out towards the sea-south) you got some time now to fight paratroopers and kill most of them. Also, you can change position, if need be now; safely. Your buddies can help you now as well. To complete the mission, you got to shoot down both choppers, and this is done easily with the AK. I did not even need to rearm a second time at the crates, 8 clips should be enough for the overall (confusing) situation.. This was done after second try.. 5. What exactly happens, when you have blown up the 4 tanks and LAW soldier(s) ? Incoming radiocall, to defend the truck(camp). All I did was switching over to driver again, race back, positioning myself outside Houdan approx 100m out right on the road. Then, 2 M-60 come rolling in. First kill blocked the second from reaching the truck via the main road and from where I stood, I blowed him when he tried to circle around on the western side of Houdan. Seconds later: 'Mission complete' So, I did nothing special to end the mission. Maybe, it counts as Mission failed, if the lone soldier, that is ordered to set up camp in Houdan (standing right next to the truck) is killed by an stray shot of the first M-60's machine gun? Did you check, if he's still alive after the M60's are done with?

    Turning formations

In addition to this turning formation issue/solution, make sure (impracticable, if you need very short response, I know..read on) that upon time of turning, you issue your men to be in either 'aware' or 'safe' combat mode, _and_ you _must_ order them to 'disengage' and then 'back into formation' (3-6; then 1-1) This will cause (without YOU having to move; only turn in place!) that your men WILL stop, what they are currently doing (i.e. scanning said easthern enemies and starting to fight them back immediately, if you are in 'Danger' combat mode;..thus killing your own people) and begin to move into their new position and getting ready there. (By that time, all of you are usually dead;..but 'formation turning' works..hehe) This will work very well, but as said, it's a lot of running/crawling...but at least, your buddies wont shoot (into your own line) until you order them to 'engage' again (3-4) You may even have to issue 3-2(to make them STOP shooting while moving);..but that depends on skill of your AI buddies... If they ARE in any agressive 'engage' mode, they will not move, or move ONLY, when you move yourself, like we read above already. 7. About your turret not moving;...did you get that Repair Truck (located west and above Houdan) back your T-72 (it's damaged) and repair it first? (Get truck-move alongside T-72-get into T-72-repair.) After that is done, drive the tank yourself until the crestline of the valley, but do not enter it! Save here. Switch over to gunner position and order your driver 'forward' (about 5m) and stop immediately again! Note: If you set him to 'aware' or even 'safe' combat mode, he wont zig-zag as much as you've seen it. Now, scan the crestline with your turret in zoom mode and you will spott the M60's turrets easily;..also your driver will notify you of their positions. If you can only see their antennas, order again 'forward' and immediate stop! Keep scanning. Now blow away the turrets of the M60's, easily. Did that help?

    Yet another freezing problem!

No, theavonlady, on the board mentioned is an Intel BX chipset. Same as on Abit BH/BF-6 Those are a little dated('97-'98) now, but under normal circumsdances know to be _rocksolid_ with most games/applications. Yeah, still an great board! Running an BF-6 in my second machine with an P3/850, Elsa Gladiac(GF2/32MB/AGP) and Soundblaster 1024 Live Player;..latest drivers/DX8.1 on either Win98SE or WinME, I get occasional lockups; either with or without that nasty highpitched whining sound hang. (OFP, but also other games, I test on the machine) I would suggest, turning ACPI off in the (latest version of - code UH?) BIOS, let Windows(which version?) rearange the IRQ's upon startup and maybe turning CAS read down to 3 cycles rather than 2-2-2. (3-2-2) That _should_ fix the most annoying lockups at the expense of some performance. Approx. 5-10%, but stable. Edit: Oh ja;..and for testing, turn off BIOS and VIDEO caching in the Bios... --- Hope it helps. (Edited by troop at 6:22 pm on Dec. 4, 2001)
