Wow! Â I'm surprised at the amount on interest this has attracted. Â Thanks for the attention guys. I'll start from the top: I have a confession to make. Â Most of the current settings in the config.cpp file are absolute crap. Â The UMP basically inherits most of its attributes from BIS's HK, with a scant few changes: Â I tweaked the accuracy so that the 9 is more accurate than the 45, though both are considerably less accurate than the HK. Â I also made a few recoils which were slightly tougher than the HK's 'rifflesilenced'. Â I was going to change the RPM from 800 to 600 but I forgot. Â And I've just noticed that the initspeed is way too high - 500! Â That'll have to come back down to 300 to be more realistic. Â They're going to be changes #1 & #2 in v1.1. Oh man! Â That's such a nice texture too! Â It's a little red dot, translucent enough to make out the details of a man's head. Â I orignally made the Aimpoint optic for an FN P90 addon (that's probably next on the list to be finished) and bugger me, I forgot to change texture path for that face! Â Change #3. Yeah, yeah, yeah! Â Â Do you know how much work that is?! Â Change #4. Sorry, I don't understand. Â Do you want the SD version more accurate, or less accurate? Â Personally, I thought suppressing pistol rounds made the recoil more manageable, and thus more accurate. Â But I could be wrong. Because I was to lazy to convert them to PAA format. Â Change #5. They show up a bit lighter in-game. Â Also a bit greener for some reason. Â LennyD's already answered this sufficiently. Â I might change the fire modes but it would involve some serious texture changes. Â I'll have to think about it. Man, you guys know way too much about guns! Â Change #6. Oh God, no! Â I love those packs. Â My stuff is nowhere near as good as that! Â How many years have they been out? Â And they still rock! As for what I'm up to next, some guys asked me to make them a Wist P94 (Yeah, I had to look it up too! so I'd better finish that before they start sending me rude letters! I've released v1.0 of my Heckler & Koch UMP pack. Download UMP .45 UMP .45 SD with Aimpoint UMP 9 UMP 9 SD with Aimpoint Units courtesy of BAS's Ranger & Delta pack. There are two different types of optics (Iron sight & Aimpoint). ******Each version has its pros and cons (UMP 45 is less accurate but the heavier bullet does more damage. ******UMP 9 is more accurate but less deadly). ******I've delibrately tried to keep the face count low (750/1100 on the standard/suppressed) to make it friendlier with low-end systems like mine. ******Textures 100% made by me, which is why they are so basic (read 'crap' ). ******Let me know what you all think. -Syphboy.

Almost finished - I'll probably be done by this time tomorrow so keep an eye out. Â While you're waiting you can check out these new pictures of the UMP-9: And the new optic: All I've got left to do is to make the recoils a bit more realistic as they're all using the standard "rifflesilenced" at the moment. About releasing all my stuff in one PBO, I'm not organised enough to do something like that. Â I usually just see a picture of something and go "Cool! I'd like to make one of them!" and 3 hours later I have a new P3D file. Â One day for a laugh, I'll post a screenshot of my folder of unfinished models. Â (I just did a quick count: there are currently 184 files in that folder! ) Â Anyway, it's 11pm where I live. Â I've had a big day and now I'm going to bed. Â Good night. -Syphboy.

Hi Everyone. This is something I've been wanting to make for ages but I never found a good enough photo to use as a texture source. Â So I decided to make my own from the ground up (and boy can you tell! ) Â Here's some pictures: It has a relatively low face count (Standard : 750, Suppressed : 1100), totally new (crappy) textures, new optics, and funky sounds. I'll be releasing V1.0 as soon as I clear up a few config and texture issues. -Syphboy.

Â Â I'll make a UMP thread on the Addons & Mods:Discussion forum once I put a bit more work into it. ch_123: Yep, a UMP-9 is definitely in the works. Â I just have to shrink the barrel and curve the mag, right? Pajama: Thanks. Â I guess I'm just sick of seeing reskins and models from other games in OFP. Â I mean sure, they look nice but somehow it just feels cheap. Â Plus, it's much more fun to make your own stuff! -Syphboy. PS Suggestions for the P9 anyone?

Okay, I'm sure the whole world is waiting with baited breath. Â Not! Â Basically, there's no dry sound. Â That's it! Â When your clip runs out of rounds and you pull the trigger again there's no 'click' sound. Â Big deal, huh? This is because that my P9 directly inherits the 'Handgunbase' class in the config.cpp file. Â 'Handgunbase' has no entry for 'drySound'. Â Actually, a dry sound isn't specified until the CZ75base class (which really seems to be the handgun which most others in the game are modelled after). Anyway, this is really easily fixed. Â I just have to add an extra line or two to the config file. Â But anyway, the purpose of this exercise was really to see if there were any other problems with the addon that I had overlooked. Â Apparently, there aren't. Â (Or there are, but no-one cares! ) I don't really want to make everybody download a version 1.1 if the only change is the drysound bug. Â Is there anything else people would like to see in the addon? Â I'm thinking of changing the optic for the suppressed version to show the silhouette of a suppressor around the edge of the pistol frame. Â I may even go the whole hog and make a special ammo box! In case anyone is curious as to the *present*, check out these pictures: The textures are a bit crappy (mainly becaue they were 100% made by me! ) but I'm pretty chuffed with the model -Â 750 faces on the standard version, 1070 on the suppressed. And yes, I know there are already enough UMP addons out there. At least it's not another bloody M4! I think I've crapped on enough for one day. -Syphboy.
