Erm, Maruk acknowledged that the -twomon support in 1.85 worked but stretched the 2d overlays. He said that they expected to fix it in the 'next patch', but it is still stretched in 1.96b. Not a critical fix of course, just something to tweak. Thanks. btw folks, the trick to multi-monitors is 1) use Nvida, and 2) use "horizontal span". You have to trick windows into thinking that there is just one wide monitor then the special resolutions 'magically' appear.

I think it was all a conspiricy by the Tonalese insurgency. What do you think?

Heh, the Japanese had a similar fight back when they were arguing over sending some diplomatic plumbers to help in Iraq. The female MP's need to be reminded that they need to check their skirt lengths before swandiving off the podium into the crowd old perverts. Lots of sucker punches there too. I wonder what would happen to Kerry with all his botox? Be kinda boring.

'Official' Basque 'leaders' are scrambling to distance themselves from this hit, as they expect the hammer from Anzar. The only real excuse they've given is that there was no phoned warning. But other than that, the ops does read like them. Not everybody is Al'Kook'aeda of course. Shoko Asahara, the guy who ordered the gassing of the Tokyo Subway a decade ago was just convicted after an 8 year trial and death threats against the judge etc. My guess, from looking at pictures of this and other bombings is that the safest looking places seem to be near the doorway between trains. That is very inconvient of course being far away from the doors, but you are away from the center of people, and you have a bit more structual protection. Buses are kinda small to amke that work reliabley though. You just have to scan the passengers and decide if you want to sit next to them, although that does remind one of '50s bus segregation.

My %GUESS% is that they just did a a query on their steam DB. Couple points of concern: The 2 Gf() MX boards still account for 25% of all boards, and adding the 5200 and GF3 you get about one third of the users using n00b boards. I'm not flaming anyone who happens to have one of those boards, I'm just mentioning that the marketing on those boards is not targeted at the DIY or technical markets, and fits closely the hl/cs demographics. The connection speed has 46% of nodes with 3/4 or more mbit connections. You aren't playing in your dorms are you people? Seriously though, there is likely a ton more 56'kers out there than reported, for the express reason that they can't just leech. This in turns fools devs into thinking thay don't have to worry about tight netcode. Finally, on the front page they say thanks to all who have "participated". If this is a opt-in survey, the results are bogus.

Is the misplaced issues due to not putting stuff in the right places, or drift due to different models?
-
Look at it this way, less noobs pestering people in OFP and getting the mods and MOD's all PO'd. Fortunately, I played OFP before I got around to getting HL etc. Now they collect dust or my brothers play them.

- if you keep trying to figure out how to add curly braces "{}" in everything you say - if you stumble wondering how to close a sentance with a semi-colon - if you almost drive off the road due to trying not to cause the AI to get fuddled - if you get lost on base because you don't recognize the signs because they're not in czech - if you're stuck in traffic and your hand on the stickshift moves to where the mousewheel should be to "Move to gunner's seat" - if you look at the trees and wonder how many planes they are, and why the world isn't lagging from the obviously massive AA/AS - if you see a blackhawk go by and your first thought is to see if the snowplow really works - if you have to remind yourself that even if truck01 is locked = false, the mp's might not be to happy for anybody to just hop in - if you walk into things because you're always walking looking at your feet or hunched over

Just wondering, a bit ot though, isn't the anim's skin-based rather than bones-based? How do (can?) you make new models look ok with old anims?
-
Didn't hezbollah pump out a similar styled CS knockoff a while back? Yeah, the pics are all 'shiny' and there is 'reallife' missions, but this reads like AA-mania all over. Yawn, gimme Malden any day.

The 5200 is the new entry-level, replacing the GF2/3 440mx's, The 5600's = old 44/200's, 59xx = step up.

My new wallpaper. It looks like this is mainly proof-of-concept stage right now. They're using lots of itty-bitty rams. I'd like to see something a little heftier with understandablely less joint movements, something less than a powerlifter or matrix mecha though.

Yawn. This was discussed ad nauseam over the last several months. iirc, the server in question was for joint committee use, and the democrat's couldn't find a competant computer geek in their army of deaniacs to set up simple permissions. BTW, how many of your machines have shares with "Everyone = Full control" at work? Besides, one of the memos was talking points for Sen. Kennady based off of a GOP memo on the same server. Sheesh. Wake me up for something interesting next time, like Martha Stewart going to the pen.

BTW, I checked the bug page at BAS's site to post my rambles there, but it wasn't working. Must have known I was coming.

For the mission, maybe Winters could add a proximity detection trigger that activates when the player is adjacent to any of the cell fences, that would create a playeraction "Cut fence". This would call a script to deletevehicle that fence. Don't SOF carry fence cutting capable knives anyway? (idea for DeRa update, sorry -ot.) Freeze-spray would be nice too.

Yeah, well you have to externally hack it. The frequency of code converting the real coords (12345.123, 12345.123) to radio coords (AA11) would seem to suggest to me that puting this in a sqf function called by the extract and insert and everything else sqs's might be the way to go. Furthermore, at least put in a global variable so that the map designer can #def a unit as being on a 128, 256, 512, 1024, or 2048x map, and then the sqf calls that global to autoadjust itself. I think COC:UA uses a gamelogic flag for that very purpose to flag the map size for code adjustment and scaling.

Ok, I found the error causing the extraction failure. This is in the scripting in the MH-60's, which the pavie's call. This only occurs on larger than normal maps, like tonal. bas_mah60\FX\fastext.sqs (also the other variants as well) Error displayed at top of the screen: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> "_xcoor = _letters select ((_xpos-64)/128)|#|; _ycoor = _numbers select ((_ypos-64/128);_return = [_xcoor,_ycoor];_return":Error zero divisor Grouptext at bottom of the screen: <table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE"> 1 (shinRaiden): "WEST Alpha Black:3, WEST Alpha Black:1 (shinRaiden), Requesting Extraction at scalar bool array 0xfcffffef scalar bool array string 0xfcffffef. Over" 3: "Roger WEST Alpha Black:1 (shinRaiden) LZ confirmed as scalar bool array string 0xfcffffef scalar bool array string 0xfcffffef. Prepare for extraction. Over" In the _calcpos function. _xpos is set as "_xpos = getpos player select 0;". _xcoor selects the array pointer in _letters to ((_xpos-64)/128), returning a text value for blending into user friendly grid locations. I've been digging through the Blackhawks thread, and have so far not found any info on this. This only happens on islands with coords larger than Jj99. Thanks.

iirc, I had the same problem with the main mh-60's, then again, they do share the same scripting core. I'll post the whole string, along with anything else I can find tonight. CAS works great though. Oh, this is not an @ECP issue, repro's with out it.

On busting out the prisioners... I figured I'd just ram the fence, but only the two parked UAZ's were usuable, actually only one, we kinda made a mess of the place. Anyway, I busted up the UAZ, but no luck with the fence. So I figured I'd do an extraction right on the tent, but every time I try to do extractions I get a weird error, some about the scalar array. It's returning bogus 0xffffffff values and not cooking right. The chopper shows up and hovers, but won't start the extraction sequence.

Maybe eiZei and Avon could help us out... iirc, in GW1, a number of scuds just impacted, no warhead explosion. Media claimed that they were dud's, investigation showed that the warhead was actually a same-size chunk of concrete, commonly used to simulate a payload in WMD launch tests. I still remember seeing pictures of a couple craters that looked like not a lot more than impact, with fuselage sections laying nearby.

Cwc islands with resistance objects
shinRaiden replied to SpaceAlex's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Depends on how they were migrated. If they were imported into WRPtool and then bulk-migrated, the ID's of all the objects on the WRP's would be different, crapping up any mission where you have ID-specific coding, eg: checking to see if lightpost #123456 is alive or not, MrDude dowatch house #123456, etc. If it was done in WRPedit or Visitor, it 'shouldnt' affect the ID's. Then again, re-binarization could cause re-ordering as well. Basiclly, check your missions first. If they work fine, no worries, other than anti-cheat bit-checking. You'd just need to confirm that everyone is using the same version. -
Hmm... Drudge is just now learning that there really is kitty-surprises in the sandy litter-box... Rummy's war And the actual top-secret report referenced is here. As for the Iranians, I was hoping of course that this would go easy, but don't forget, even in Russia there was a coup attempt and parliment burned before everyone could think about stopping the holding of collective breaths. --- edit --- Yeah, this is old, but it got shoved way to far back in the local paper. Busbomb num. 20 or 21ish.

Heh-heh, woopise. (btw, the last one has been posted around a bunch before.)

Foriegn policy - 1) you have crazed fundamentalists (belabored in another thread) that refuse any and all negotiations, and also happen to be recognized nation-states. 2) Demographic CF's in Asia, and later in Europe. Japan is considering that garnishing EVERY salary in about 20 years will not be enough to take care of the senior citizens. China through their one-child program and cultural desire for boys has a massive imbalance of boys with only pr0n and nothing to do but listen to communist fundamentalism. 3) Everyone (except Tony Blair and a few other brown-nosers) hate us. Although ultimately you can never compel someone to like you, it still looks bad in the press regardless of whether you snub or kiss-up. 4) Economically, Japan has made their money this way: The Yen normally trades between 105 to 120 to a dollar. US buys and sells in packs of US 10's, Japan buys and sells in packs of 100 yens. Company pockets the difference. Rather simplistic, but suffiecient for the discussion. Japan picks up work from US, dollar goes down, Japanese make less and less profit, they tank, and the crap flushes to the next drain. 5) Europe. Thank goodness you're finally started to get off your fractured arse and put together a cohesive blended economy. Now deal with your bluebloods and show us how the money really works.
