    Explosion in madrid

Looks like somebody goofed. Then again, (thursday?) before elections is a great time to drop naughty things, chaos on through the weekend, and by election time there's no time to spin it. I think there was a case where a Palestinian bomber blew up an hour premature out in the boonies because the Israelis moved up the daylight savings time adjust to avoid having it fall on shabbat or a holyday, and the Palestinian of course wasn't paying attention to the difference in 'Zionist' time. Also, considering that several bombs failed to work would suggest that it was Al'Qaeda, their stuff sometimes doesn't work right, unlike more 'competent' idealistic thug gangs.

Screw quality, gimme quantity. Behold the almighty democratic power of the People's democratic lemming hordes, led by their exalted leader Darth Lemming. Denoir has his spin on the numbers, Walker has his spin, and how accurate are those numbers to begin with? I feed all sorts of BS to the pollsters when they call, it's like playing with puppets. Gives you a huge evil rush. A lot of people voted early and often in Russia too, it's sad to think what might happen to the unfortunate 29% who didn't vote for Putin, so lets not. Back to spain. What's the connection with the two guys from India? The papers out of india say that sources say that they had no papers, and were likely in the country illegally. If that's the case, they should be giving them asylum and jobs and healthcare, not putting the screws to them in prison...

    The Iraq thread 3

Mr Information Minister only looked stupid because the bombs were falling as he spoke and the camera bounced as a result. Heck, even Mikhail Gorbachav is on the speaking circuit "Good evening ladies and gentlemen, as supreme leader of the biggest superpower, I personally oversaw the trainwreck with my hands on the throttles. I really do appreciate your honoraium. It is so much better than small potaoes."

That is a really good point thats being made though, that the people voted against Anzar because of the war involvement. A common thought tossed around here is that the people voted based on the assumption that if Spain had ignored the war the bombing would not have happened - therefore Anzar 'caused' the bombing. That requires however, that the general spanish populace was apathetic or potentially interested in following Bush, both of which do not appear at all to be the case. As for the 'lying' part, I would match it equally with the 'spinning' BS from the media. When the pundits (and we) had it nailed as ETA in the first 5 minutes, then AZF 5 minutes later, etc., then spin the blame for our own sticking-of-the-finger-in-the-air on the politicians, who actually have to do investigations and publish reports, who's fault is that? The politicians of course, because they can not do the impossible that we the populace demand of them.

Are there caves near Granada? I don't know if Bin Laden would be quite comfortable living in the old Moorish castles of Andalusia. It would be so much better if they'd just invade instead of purging the populace. Yeah, the spanish only let them take what they could carry and no valuables when they fled in 1492, but they let them go. In order to prevent a future reoccurance of the 'Great Catastrophe' though, the Neo-Caliphate would need to control the entire Iberian peninsula. Maybe, instead of the first suspect, ETA and AZF will turn into Spain's last refuge, their version of the Alamo. The other big black spot on their history was the defeat at Vienna. Haven't heard much threats on that camp, but Poland got warned by He-who-would-be-king. BTW, o-sama in Japanese means honorable king.

    Nvidia gf4200 dualview problem

Doh. Um, I some how mangled mine to where screen #2 is on the left and #1 is on the right, but the machine is at home and I'm not right now. What version of the nvidia driver are you using? In windows, what number is the 17" identified as? Also, in the basic display control panel, which monitor is designated the primary display screen? I'm using 2x CTL T910 19" running at 1280x1024x32x75hz each, but the coloring is slightly different between the two.

    The Middle East part 2

And in response the Israelis are cooking up something 'spectacular'. No surprise, considering everything hinges on the fence working, and the palestinians fighting it out amongst themselves. Jpost frontpage Tuesday's planned meeting between Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and PA Prime Minister Ahmed Qurei was postponed indefinitely because the government will not "negotiate as if there were no terror, and fight terror as if there were no negotiations," Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom said Monday. Speaking at a Jerusalem press conference with visiting Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul, Shalom said Israel has made clear to the PA and the international community that it won't tolerate a situation in which it "negotiates by night and buries its dead by day."

Some may indeed be seeking to spread the caliphate back to Alhambra, but many of their line soldiers seem to be interested only in the wholesale slaughter of infidels. And the white flag of surrender waved by the infidels is sadly so very needed... as burial shrouds.

Spanish? Who needs them anyway? We are the UN borg... Seriously, he says that what they are doing right now without the U is 'bad' but if the UN said it was 'good' then it must be good. Thumb wars "good good bad bad good bad bad bad good good" is just as logical. So 'slaughtering the innocents' under Bush's banner is bad, but doing it under the UN's is good... "I can see clearly now the rainbow... " (phhhhhhhtttt... *long drag*)

    The Middle East part 2

Cheap labor, great benefits 10 year old porter got handed a bag, told to carry across border. 7~10 kilos of explosive If you can't go over or around, go under One al-Aqsa leader in Gaza, who identified himself only as Abu Qusay, said that "this is a message to the Israelis that all their walls and fences cannot prevent us from infiltrating Israel and doing whatever we want." Civilians = enemy combatents "Now we say it clearly, hoping that you [Aznar] will understand it this time. We at the Abu Hafs Al-Masri Brigades are not sorry for the deaths of so-called civilians. Are they permitted to kill our children, our women, our elderly, and our youth in Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine, and Kashmir, and we are forbidden from killing them? Allah, may he be praised, said: ' Whoever attacks you, attack him in the same way that he attacked you' [Qur'an 2:194]. (From Abu Hafs Al-Masri's claim of responsibility for Madrid)

It does seem that the election was a forgone conclusion, but maybe now Europe will really have "peace in our time". For all the grumbles about no connection between Iraq and Al'Qaeda, where were the Spanish in Afganistan? And where were the Baathist 'insurgents' in Madrid? Yes, there was a bunch of bickering, first it was ETA, then Al'Qaeda, then back to ETA, then back to Al'Qaeda, then sombody else like AZF, then back to Al'Qaeda, now the Moroccans and possibly Al'Qaeda, and how did the guys from India get involved? Terrorists ~200, Spanish 0. I wonder if you can dance the flamenco in a burhka. Probably can't in public anyway.
  16. - you climb on a car and somehow find yourself rotated 90deg and sitting in the driver's seat - you try to steer using subtle fingerflicks so it looks like your hands aren't moving - you wonder where the "Buckle up" action is, and then started designing an appropiate addaction function.

    Memory leak?

Yep, not on 2K. It was a 9x tool they brought back in XP. One easy way, start OFP and the taskmanager and the services control panel mmc plugin. Then kill everything that you can in taskmanager, and everything that you can in services. You'll be offended and embarrassed at how much memory you save.

"The supported maneuver commander submitting the fire request is responsible for the decision to call for fires when those fires are less than minimum safe distances to friendly positions. The warning "danger close" is given by the requester to indicate friendly troops are within danger close distances to the target." www.fas.org

    Nvidia gf4200 dualview problem

Did you enable horizontal-span, or just dualview? It has to be in horizontal-span for windows and OFP to think you have one monitor. That also means that your screen rez and refresh will be the same across both automaticly. That may end up being rather screwy on mixed sizes. Then you'll need to add the -twomon switch to a OFP shortcut. Thanks. (I run a 256mb GFX5600 driving twin 19" monitors with a combined 2560x1024x32.)

    Memory leak?

That's not bad at all... buuuuut... I presume you either have 512mb of REAL ram or less, or you have disabled your swap file. If it is the later, ok. If the former, you really need to clean house programswise. Steam, that's HL, not OFP. Turn it off. -nomap doesn't affect memory amounts in my experience, it only affects internal handling for more stability. Mozilla and winamp, geesh, are you listening to OFP or something else? One or the other. xtray, ytray, ztray... Otherwise, OFP looks reasonable. It actually feels like you are running at a lower terrain res and not a bunch of addons. Also, try killing stuff in your services control panel. How many times do you plan on printing while OFP is running? Thanks.

Sigma's East and AKM74's APC pack vs Sigma's latest American tanks. East is above getting waxed. West is driving up the road through Chapoi. 4000m viewdistance. For naplam runs, I normally use the napalm bomb from snYpir's support pack. Fairly large area of effect.
