No-no-no, well, yes, i am crazy, But an rss feed would simply be your current flashnews blocked out in xml, and posted to a 3rd party aggregator site (distributor). that could invite changing the structure a bit so that you would only post the blocks when they happen, and then we dynamically build the newsletters client-side based off of the feed. a bulk mail coming out of cz, as much as it would be appreciated, would likely just be filed away, if it survived the spam filter. An rss feed is pulled, rather than pushed.

I looked at the screenshots for a quick sec... I want those precious bits back for wasting my time. Looks very plasticy. Should keep the CS kiddies distracted for a bit longer though.

Wow. Thanks, this is a nice help to 56'kers like me in finding stuff. Maybe you could integrate this with an rss feed? Thank you.

Did you see my posts, or did you clicky the links? Okay, more updates. With my currently-installed detonators (53.03), I am still limited to 3200x1200 on span-mode. Modes.txt says that it can go higher, but then again it also lists rediculous numbers for TNT's as well. I'm guessing that it may be a 5600 limitation. I can crank up dualview resolutions to 1920x1440@60hz x2. The other issue that shows up is that OFP won't let you set a window size larger than the desktop size. So if I get a virtual desktop app... I wonder if I can nuke it bigger. The catch is to keep it above ~4fps so that mouse clicks still register.

Interesting, will have to try it out. But, it looks like AA/AS gets killed in -window.

If you want to make huge screenshots, it is the only way to go. The biggest annoyance of course is having the crosshairs right down the middle, first-person view sucks because of it. If you are driving a vehicle in 2nd person, or command view though, it can be like having your own UAV assigned to your tank. FPS obviously is reduced significantly. Other quirk is that it can be a real pain to get the color sync'd exactly between the monitors, especially with vga/dvi cards. Ideally, you'd want a dvi/dvi card running 2 projectors for no gap, but that don't work for my budjet yet. I have see some 2x LCD monitors for sale, basiclly the manufacturer took two ~15" or ~17" LCD modules and put them side by side in one case. That would be one possible option. Mainly though, two monitors is a huge help when designing wrp's and mission scripting. That way OFP can be running in a window on one monitor, while your clutter of notes and scripts and editors are spread out across the screen.

Yay, my busted monitor (smoke poured out the top, etc) is now replaced and I'm back on to -twomon 3200x1200 3200x1200 3200x1200 3200x1200 In the process of making these screenshots, I stumbled onto a potentially useful bug. Unfortunately, I have not yet figured out the repro steps. I changed the shortcut properties to readd -twomon and remove a few listed addons. I had forgotten to switch display properties from dualview to horizontal span. I also had "-mod=;" in the shortcut. The first thing that came up was a config.cpp:cfgaddons error windows popup, then OFP popped up. In ofp I got an error about maxmagazine or something like that. I went to video options, and got a whacked different screen. The layout was totally different, but the weirdest part was I could see a ALL the possible video resolutions that that card/driver supported, up to 1920 x 1080, 1920 x 1200, 1920 x 1440, and 2048 x 1536. FYI, see what you can find. I have been able to repro the different dialog using the steps above, but not the additional resolutions yet. Poor monitors are screaming in agony, I think they top out there in the 1920 range.

Seaching for "twomon" or "-twomon" will not solve your problems, because the full details are in "Dual Monitors".

At a memorial service, a speaker (former Reagan aide) said he had contacted Václav Havel's office for comment. His office said that Václav Havel had been all over the Czech media, but had not recieved one call for comment from any US media. GoogleNews only returns ~185 hits, the vast majority of them about the EU vote situation. Anybody here (who follows, understands Czech) able to confirm this? - edit - Today is the 17th anniversary of "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

looks like www.reagan.navy.mil is back up. But, they put a cover up with no links in. So here it is, you can get all the pictures now.

I have two sets of headphones. One is a nice sony studio set that wears well, very good fidelity. The other is the Zalman beast: 5.1 headphones 3-plug octopus cable on it. Goods: 6 speakers, full effects. Bads: Major clamping pressure, round ear pads, funky surround eq settings required for 6 speakers that close, huge air pressure from 6 speakers. Bottom line: Worth $50? Yeah, audio is good, technophile factor is a plus.

Watching the procession yesterday, seeing Nancy trying to put her best foot forward to return the thanks and not get ovewhelmed by the magnitude of the process, it was awesome. In the middle of it, my 10 year old sister who has a TV problem (repeatedly grounded for backtalking when she goes too long) barged in during one of the transfers of the casket. She started screaming that it was time for her cartoons, and that nobody cares about that dumb thing - that I've already watched too much of it (15 minutes of the loading at Mugu). I told her to shut up and if she didn't I wouldn't take her to Harry Potter this weekend like I've been volunteered to do. That only got her madder and she took off screaming about 'good riddence to some old dead guy.' Amidst all the commentating and pundification, very little time has been spent noting how that Thatcher and Gorbachev are both attending the services as free citizens. I remember the sign on the wall by the door of my first grade classroom in Florida in 1986 with the different alarm siren codes, including air raid, and wondering what that was all about. Sometimes we could just barely see the Space Shuttle contrail, I can't remember if I saw Challenger's, but I know I was watching the TV. I was just a little kid at the time, in diapers for much of it, and consequently didn't know much about stuff then. Now that I have a chance to go back and learn about what was going on, I just want to say thank you.

www.reagan.navy.mil appears to have been slashdotted. 75+% of the pictures were unavailable last night. netcraft report

OFP Ported to Sharp Zaurus! Okay, okay, it's just a screen shot (not scaled, native 640x480), but I can dream, can't I? If I can get a server package trimmed to about 800mb, I'll give it a whirl to see if it will turn over.

Snakeman, dschulle, and rom: For making WRPtool, and compiling tons of map dev data too. And ODOL Explorer too. And don't forget dschulle's animator too. Benu for knowing everything about getting ./server to run, and knowing how to spot a nscd q right off the bat

The Scotsman The Herald The Age - AU Reuters Deepikaglobal.com First slow insertions, now leaky perimeters? -- edit -- point of clarification: the official spin is that the terrorists said that they had the hotel and an industrial compound wired to blow, and that they'd set it off and kill the rest of the hostages if they weren't let out. Intial demands for safe passage were initially denied, but later relented on the prospects of a major facility being blown up.

From the commented config files, config.cpp : class defaultworld Also, 1024mb is really an absolute minimum. When I run up the detail level, OFP bloats to ~700mb, mainly on the step from High to VeryHigh. And that's on 12km maps. 102km's start there on very_low, and ctd any higher. While you're at it, get 2x512's and dual channel them.

The initial problem with BOTH the Nvidia and ATI DX9 boards was that they jumped the gun on development and crapped up their driver support. Look at the the HL2 demos. Notice that they don't use AA/AS? Well that's because ATI was scared that the horsepower of the first 9800's wouldn't be enough, so they designed the chip around a beta DX9 spec. Well, microsoft fixed some more bugs, after ATI had started fab'ing chips. Nvidia got wind of what ATI was doing early on enough that they did the same thing. Supposedly things are straightened out now, but I'm holding off until next spring at the earliest.

Realmedia is easy. If you right-click and select save-as instead of clicking the links to play, you'll get the little ram file. Open that in notepad and you'll find the link to the real content file. Paste that in a link in a quick html file, right click and select save as. Now if you hit one of those pages that has right click disabled, just save the page and troll the source. Windows media streaming works the same way. Note that this only works on archived media, live media obviously is useless in this method. -note- I have only crappy dialup at home, so this is what I have to do to watch movies and stuff offline.

1) Anything higher than a 9600/5600 128mb, and you should seriously look at cards with an additional power connector on the back, ala GeForce 6800. Reason) Many boards (especially Nforce2 based) don't provide spec level power to the agp slot. Also, 256mb of ram, and your cpu sized gpu sucks tons of juice. 2) PCI-X will allegedly ship this christmas. If it does, there may be price drops on AGP boards by spring '05. 3) The ATI vs Nvidia wars is mainly marketing FUD, except at the Directx9 tests of course. I go with nVidia because it supports -twomon. Otherwise it really is a tossup. Bottom line is price, Tom's Hardware's VGA card lineup, and the bundle you get. My MSI GFX5600 VTD-256 is a good card, until you consider the no extra power connections. 4) Do you plan on hooking your machine up to the TV or TV projectors much? ATI's are said to be much better. That said, VIVO is rare from both lines.

The gui functions are spec'd in the resource.cpp, not the config.cpp. The quickest/easist way to get one is to copy the one from the ECP dir. Otherwise you would need to un-bin the in /res/bin or /bin, I'm not quite sure.

Have you seen this in other games? I had repro's in Quake3, SOF2, Age of Empires, and Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds. Try this thread.

What's your FSB and ratio? What speed is your ram running at? How much memory do you have on your video card? Which DLX board do you have? (I have DLX v2.0 and a -E DLX) What is your MB driver version? ----------------------------------- The nforce2 chipsets have a known issue with inadequate power supply to the AGP slot, check out the rather large thread on Gfx5600 cards. I have a 256mb card, and until I can cough of the dough to go and 'downgrade' to a 128mb card I'm stuck at 166x2x10. I have 2x512mb of ddr3200.

1) Does it still support -twomon and -window? 2) Does it support maps larger than 12.8km, like all the way up to 102km? 3) - edit, nm. - 4) Coalescent has no pr posts since Dec. 17, 03. Will they be opening sales in the US, and when can we be blessed with a statement of solidarity from them? 5) Is Earl getting a nice tan in Miami? 6) If I have to reinstall windows, are there any complications, or as long as the dongle is plugged in its okay? 7) Can missions still be played depbo'd? 8) Can addons be loaded in depbo'd form? Thanks.

I saw one at a shop recently. It had the worst tactitle feedback. It felt like you were playing on a folding PDA keyboard. Basiclly, it's just a colored overlay on a more substantial base, but your fingers don't think so. I'd rather see the action menu get dynamiclly mapped to the numpad. That way you could just slap the key. Mousewheel is faster though, just takes practice.
