    Water Color

    Sorry to dig this up but I am having a weird issue with this, the water appears exactly the way I intended in single player but when the map is being played online the water color goes back to the default green. ???

    UI Select image

    I am trying to create a custom paa for the ui select but it crashes texview2 when I try to open it. Can someone tell me what settings I need to use when saving it as a paa with transparency? I am using photoshop CS4 ---------- Post added at 10:56 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:15 AM ---------- nevermind, it worked when I saved it as a tga :)

    Invisible road object

    that seems to work well enough for me to move on but I recall in arma1 you only had to place them down as artificial objects and they would snap together. Thanks B
  4. My invisible road objects in roads2 have no icon when I place it into visitor. I tried replacing it with the games invisible road but it won't snap together which is pretty useless when building a runway. Has anyone else come across this issue? (maybe someone could zip up the object and attach it for me? :o)
  5. It can be a pain in the ass to search for information but it is all here(most is in the stickied thread as I am sure most are familiar with it). My only complaint is that some of the information is outdated. For everything else there is always the option of just creating a new thread if you can't find a definite answer. Video tutorials are a huge undertaking and if someone feels obligated to put the time and effort into it then more power to them.

    Big Islands

    Big maps take too long to work on, so I try and stay within 10km x 10km. I do however have a 20km x 20km island in the works.
  11. Possibly the terrain is too extreme and the engine is used to making smoother variations? Perhaps an option in the config to set how bumpy the generated terrain can get would be a feature to consider for a patch?

    3D Max..Map

    For anyone who is new to Island editing or modding, the same general rule applies. You are going to have to rely on what has already been posted here in these forums and what is available to you in the tutorial/wiki links. Your best friend is the Search Button up there ^ when you run into issues. Not much else can be said. Have patience, be willing to learn from mistakes... and good luck!

    Sweet, thanks Bushlurker! If you remember what they were then I hope I can help. Oh, and if anyone happens to be looking for buildings, this will help you. http://www.armatechsquad.com/ArmA2Class/Buildings/ I just wish they had a class list for all of arma2's objects like vegitation.

    the Sig 550, 551, and 552 are my absolute favorite guns. Keep up the good work! Will we be able to see all weapon accessory configurations you will be adding? :)

    Really Dumb questions

    Part of the trick to learning island creation is to read the tutorial with the sample map and do each step on your own as you read.

    What is your Texture Layer Size in your Project Parameters? I have heard others have been able to fix this issue by setting the Base Layer to 40.0x40.0m Otherwise great job, this island seems to have been a long time coming and the hard work put in really shows. :)

    I usually back up my pew at least once while I'm working and it is a good idea to save to these backups as much as possible. And roads can be exported as text files btw.

    Custom island's intro

    I have been playing with the intro in the mission editor(ripped from utes) and with a bit of tweaking and imagination it seems to be pretty straight forward as far as integrating it into your island.

    roads2 bridges

    Does anyone have problems with these three objects...? P:\CA\Roads2\bridge_asf1_25.p3d P:\CA\Roads2\bridge_stone_asf2_25.p3d P:\CA\Roads2\bridge_wood_25.p3d I can't seem to get them up!(haha). Buldozer does not seem to be able to grab onto these objects and modify their height and I have to manually edit their height value which is not fun. :confused:
