It either comes down to your background image in visitor not being scaled correctly to your terrain/project size(10240km^ with 1024pixel bg in visitor) or your project is not set up correctly. But my question is why are you not using world tools to place vegitation? ;) -

Thanks for the bug reports, I think the problem with the safe position function has to do with my maps center position being in the ocean. I'm not sure how it ended up there as it was over land before 1.0 was released. It is already fixed and if my assumption is correct then the safe position function should be fixed as well. Correct me if I'm wrong of course up until a couple minutes ago I had no idea what you were talking about. :p As per STHud, I am looking into that now. As per rocks, you will have to complain to BIS about that one. -

I'm not sure if anyone noticed that the rocks on the island were destructable and the place could use some bridges here and there(namely Aguado to the southwest where I busted up a ton of vehicles trying to reach it). Oh, also found some trees in the water near Calamar. Otherwise this island is a hell of a lot of fun. :D -

All of the major buildings are from OA but %50 of the actual objects used are from A2. This can include fences, castle ruins, light poles, all of the oil rig components, the control tower, ground clutter, etc. All of the nice details come from A2. -

ArmA 2 is a requirement so yes, you do need to be running Combined Operations. -

Thanks Bushlurker:D That means a lot coming from you. I figured it's a small island so might as well focus on a little detail that becomes tedious with large islands. Its nice to see people appreciate peoples hard work. :bounce3: Feel free to share that mission I wouldn't mind trying it out myself. I only wish I learned how to do missions myself apart from camera scripting, Haha. I might just have to take a look at F2. -

I have no other reports of these errors from anyone else. Are you sure you are running combined operations? (ArmA2 + Operation Arrowhead) If so try re-downloading the addon and follow the instructions in the readme. Thank you Old Bear :) It is by David Arkenstone from his album Caribbean Dreams and the track is called Forest Rain. :) I think the island is too small to warrant an aircraft carrier. they can still be placed by the mission editors via script. Understood, but in the time being I am convinced there will be more changes to be made to warrant a version 1.1 in the future(hopefully no more then that). When that time comes, I can remove the version number. For now it is for the sake of avoiding mismatches. -

It is currently not documented in any of the tutorials but what would you say is the advantages of extracting all of the pbo's from A2/addons? I was under the sort of assumption that we only needed to use the pbo's that were required for visitor and the placing of objects. At the same time I have heard others say that we should be extracting ALL of them. -

Recently I have been trying to figure out Latitude/Longitude and how it works in the config. I know that in real life the coordinates for my island are in the south eastern hemisphere at E177.0 and S17.0 which means my grid should start at 0/0 in the NW corner. Therefor, I have set my longitude = 177 and my latitude = 17, my offsetX = 0 and I have offsetY = 5120 right now. This fixed the issue I was having of my Y grid starting at 99 and counting up but it starts my grid in the south western corner which is not making much sense to me right this instant. :s Is there something wrong with grids in arma versus how they should work in real life, or am I just having a stupid moment? :S -

I couldn't agree more. My largest island is 15km x 15km with about %25 the amount of objects as Chernarus. I know from past works that anything larger is just a pain in the ass unless you sacrifice a lot to get it finished and able to run on most peoples computers. But the future is looking good so far and this might change as tools become available and the entire process of setting up, working on, and releasing islands becomes more user friendly. Especially for the newer folk. The sheer number of islands being released and the quality of work is testament to that. :cool: -
I get an error when my map loads I wonder if someone could help me squash this one. cannot load texture "ca/buildings/misc/data/blck_sum.pac" anyone know what object might be causing this? :confused:
