I was playing with the Multiplayer mission wizard and made a ctf mission on Rahmadi. Seems kinda cool and seems to work well. I would love to edit it in the editor; add some objects, etc. Is this possible? I looked for the mission in the drop down list in the editor but it wasnt there. I look at the mission file and its different from the usual mission files. Its called a ARMAWIZARDMISSION file. I cant seem to open it in the regular editor.

RHS T-64 MBT pack v.0.9 ( Preview )
pcpilot replied to Shadow NX's topic in ARMA - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Hey Shadow, Im usually a lurker, mainly looking for addons for the game. Im getting a lot of fun and mileage from Arma and the addons make it even better. Then I found your teams' T-64 addon...WAY TO GO! So after playing with it for awhile, thought I would post a "well done guys!" Im now looking forward to your future tanks and the MI...man, I love this game... -
Sounds wierd I know. But Im working on a mission and Id like to make one of the objectives destroying an ammo dump using maybe a time bomb being set. For the ammo dump Ive put several ammo crates under a tent. I have a trigger set as an objective and extra points, etc in the activation section of the trigger dialog. But how can I make the trigger activate? Can I sync it to, say, an ammo box? Or what? Im a bit stumped here...thanks for any help guys.

How do I destroy an ammodump...
pcpilot replied to pcpilot's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Thanks for the reply but no, it didnt work. I also tried a destroy waypoint on top of the ammo boxes to no avail. I experimented a little by trying to destroy several different objects including a hut and a crapper. But the trigger didnt go off even though its synced to the destroy waypoint. I can destroy the object of course, but the trigger doesnt activate aknowledging my objective complete and then sending me to the next waypoint. -
Looking forward to the update for this vehicle. Unfortunately, since the patch, I cant use it as it is now. It seems my infantry dont show thier small arms when this vehicle is used ingame. I agree with cameron, a Russian federation skin and SLA would look really nice.

Ive noticed since the 1.08 patch that if I am a commander of a vehicle, such as the addon M-60 or the games' stock Shilka, and give a target to attack using my mouse curser, the gunner wont attack it. If I say nothing, he will attack targets normally it seems. Even if I step out of the vehicle, the gunner will continue to engage targets. But if I give him a target to attack, he ignors it and indeed, pretty much stops firing, even with plenty of targets in view. Anyone else experiancing this?

Just popped in to say that this is a VERY cool utility. I have REALLY needed something like this since Arma came out. Sure makes life easier with the breifings, etc. Thanks Chris...

Great looking model pal. I look forward to the completed version but this is nice till then. *Opinion mode on* While RACS is obviously an ally of the western world and would likely tend to have mainly western equipment, I would suppose RACS might have any number of different choppers and equipment in their inventory. A lot of third world countries do. *Opinion mode off*

Perhaps you might be able to help with a problem Im having right now...I have a helo attacking a tank column. If the helo gets shot down, I want a simple report of that event. (It would be cool to have a camera show it happening too, but I'll worry about that later.) I tried a simple trigger with "west not present", and a text message saying the helo is shot down, but I had to keep the trigger area small and it didnt cover where the helo was taking off from so it would go off and show the text message before the helo had left. I then tried the "not alive" line in the init field but it doesnt seem to go off at all now. I also tried syncronizing the trigger with a helo waypoint. Maybe a crewman survived or the helo just flew off into space or something I dont know. It would be nice if just the destruction of the helo itself triggered the message, even if the crew survived. Any siggestions?

I am making a simple mission where the player and his coop team have a meeting engagement against an enemy tank and two squads. They are battling on the island of Rahmadi over the single central village on that map. I have placed a flag at the center of town. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get and implement a script to make the flag change to the side with control and give them points for its possession, say, for the amount of time either side holds it. Ive been using the triggers "OpFor and BluFor has possession" I think it is. But while this tells me who has the center of town, the flag of course does not change. Â I really dont want to get into scripting myself as I dont have that much time. Perhaps someone would be willing to help with a script? PS. I also am not familier with how to implement a script so maybe someone could enlighten me.

Questions about sector control

Ok, before everyone castrates me for not searching; I did! I cant seem to come up with a good search word for what I'm looking for and strings of words in a search just come back with 8 million results. Ive also went over a number of tutorials and referances and cant find my query either. What I am looking for is this...When I complete an objective, Id like a waypoint to then become visible to take me back to my base. I know this is simple and probably asked a hundred times but please bare with me. Thank you for your time.

Hmmmm, thanks for the reply. I took your advice and it doesnt seem to work. The first waypoint shows immediately, then switches to the next before Ive even done anything. Tried to sync from first the waypoint to the trigger. Then from the trigger to the waypoint just to see if there was a difference; there wasnt, it did the same thing regardless. So it still doesnt work yet.

ColSanders, where can this file be found? By the way, your name and avatar is amusing...

Hi fellas, I was hoping someone might have or know where I can get a profile for a friends' CH pro fighterstick and ch rudder peddals for this game. Not sure if peddals are even supported in this game or not. Thanks for any help...
-
Thank you Andersson, I'll take a look there on that site and see what I find. I also suspect my friend didnt use the software that came with his controllers. I'll install that for him if not and see what we can do there too. Infamous, I suspect you are right about not needing all those settings in Arma. However, even just one mode would make it awfully sweet to have all your functions /commands at your fingertips. This is a REALLY nice stick and pedal setup he bought, though too expensive for me, ($300 for both stick and pedals).

How do I... add binoculars to my player character?
pcpilot replied to pcpilot's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Thank you for the help fellas, I appreciate it. And yes, I did do the search thing; Im not a newbie except to this forum. I usually do when I need info. It doesnt always come back with what I need so then I ask. I might also add its the first time in nearly 10 years on various forums Ive been lectured about my thread titles. -
How do I... add binoculars to my player character?
pcpilot posted a topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
add binoculars to my player character? I tried addweapon but that didnt work. Also cant seem to add magazines to my player for his M9. I added the pistol but when I try to launch the scenario for a test run, I get an error message. I used the syntax... addmagazine "M9"; addmagazine "M9"; addmagazine "M9" in the init field. Thanks for your time and help guys... -
Hi guys, first post. I tried the search function thrughout the AA forums to no avail. While knwoing actually very little about scripting, one of the things I loved about OFP was the mission editor. Happily, this editor in AA appears to be virtually similar. So I immediately dived in and started work on a simple SP mission. I wanted a BRDM to come down the road and I would whack it with a AT wep. On his demise, an alarm would sound, a squad would load into a BMP and then come down the road also. I set both vehicles on the road in a nearby town with a line of waypoints towards me. The BMP moved down the down ok, except it stopped at each waypoint! After I bang him, I can hear the BMP crashing about. So I run over to where he is and there he is, not even on the road, next to a wood fence. I watch as the squad loads, in the process each man in the squad running thru a wooden fence near the back of the BMP. I decide to respawn as a civilian nearby so I can see whats happening and the scenario begins with the BMP off the road. I zoom in the editor map and make sure the vehicle is carefully placed in the center of the road. Start the scenario again and the BMP is still starting off the road. Later, I replace the BMP and squad with a T72 and the same thing happens! Soooo, there are several problems here... 1.) Vehicles seem to follow waypoints but stop at each one. The speed is set to normal. 2.) Armor vehicles are not starting the scenario/spawning where I place them on the map. The placement radious is set to zero. 3.) I had an entire squad of men load a BMP !thru a wood fence! I cant even step over a 2cm high break in a wall and they can go THRU a fence! Any word on whats going on here? Is this some known bugs? help...

Some things Ive noticed in the editor
pcpilot replied to pcpilot's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Special Ed, thats exactly what I do; place wps so the vehicles follow the road around the curve. It sure is annoying how they stop at each one; must be a bug. I dont remember having that problem with OFP. I havent had a problem with BMPs not shooting yet; they slaughter my squad in this mission if I dont get it first. I have the last waypoint set to Guard; thats when they show up, stop, unload troops, and fire at any of my squad they see. HUnicorn, Thank you, Ill give it a whirl tonight. -

pcpilot replied to pcpilot's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
The waypoints are all set to move except one early wp is set to load and the last is set to guard. Isnt there a command for units to follow the road? Something placed in the ini? -

pcpilot replied to pcpilot's topic in ARMA - MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
The waypoints and vehicles I zoomed in on the map to ensure proper placement and still have problems with the vehicles; waypoints seem to be on the road like they should be. The distances vary; some waypoints follow curves so are pretty close together; (Im not sure if I have to follow a curve with waypoints like that or not). Other wps are on straight sections of road so are farther apart. I havent tried setting speed to full yet, will give it a go later. I also havent tried setting the pos for vehicles yet. How do I get, and write, the coords for a setpos?
