I have just upgraded my old 7800 GTX to a Zotac 9800 GT and I havn't really noticed that much of a difference in the FPS, most othere games that I own run sweet now with everything maxed out but not ArmA. I have the latest drivers from Nvidia plus I turned down all the settings to medium because on high I was getting between 25 and 40 FPS on the single player ambush mission. Any help is more than welcome, ty. System Spec. Windows XP Pro. Intel Core 2 Duo 6700 Oced to 3.1 ghz Zotac 9800 GT 512mb Asrock 2Core 1333 DVI-2.66G 2 GiG DDR II PC 5300 160 GiG HD

My veiw distance is set to 2000m and my resolution is 1280x1024, I can't play any higher than that because that is the highest res the monitor will allow. I also have Vsnyc forced off in the Nvidia control panel. Rikabi I have the latest drivers from Nvidia.

Is the 31st WWII warfare server still up and running I couldn't find it? Nice mod btw .

Can't wait mate ive tried all the sound mods that are out and I do like the sounds in yours over all the other mods esp. the rifles.

Hello guys just wondered if anyone has recently upgraded from an older 7800 to a 8800? If so what kind of difference did it make to the performance of ArmA, I am sick of running of ArmA in low/very low settings esp. when I see other peoples ArmA vids. The rest of my system isn't to bad its just my GFX card that is letting me down, I think. Windows XP 32. Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 OC ed to 3.1 2 GiG of ram Geforce 7800GTX 10MB Cable.

Right thanx lads I think I am going to buy one at the end of the week and get more ram in a couple of weeks time. Hopefully soon I will be able to play ArmA on normal/high settings .

Recently in ArmA ive noticed that i can't turn AA back on the only option I have is Disabled? Ive tried forcing it on the GFX card settings but with no luck, I also checked my config to try and change it there but I can't see any AA options?

Yes thank you I did , whats the default HD setting?

Ive lost the option in the GFX settings to turn on Antialiasing when i click on the option it only comes up with disable, can anyone help?

This XAM light is great but i only play 1.09 :*( so i will wait for the patch TY guyz!.

I don't understand this is it never used to do be like this, when i am playing arma these days my HD is going mad sometime causing it to lag and splutter when playing. I don't know why because i have all the latest drivers the HD has been defragged there is no spyware or viruses on my PC. I am running the new beta patch my system spec below.. Ok i changed the settings in the BIOS from auto to the correct settings. Ill let you know how i get on, TY Pile.

Ive had the same problem as above with AVG i cant run the installer it wont let me even if AVG is turned off.

NP man your probably right anyway. How do i set these options ive found them in my BIOS but i don't know what to set them to? For PIO settings there are numbers 0 to 6 and for the DMA theres are loads of different options to choose from. Both were on on Auto by default.

I know you don't believe me but ive just had about 4 hours of play without any HD lag or stuttering and its fantastic. Every time i play the beta it is near impossible to play without getting lag and having to leave due to this. But i will look into your suggestions as well. Thanx.

Just done some testing and went back to 1.08 it seems like its a 1.09 beta problem, from what i can tell i played EVO for about 2 hours on different servers and didn't have the HD stutter problem. Oh well looks like i wont be playing the beta anymore and hopefully BI fix it for for final release.

Ok guyz just thought i would update you on this problem that still plagues me, it did get a bit better when i added the memory line into the short cut and turning off page filing. But alas it had started to happen again in the last few days so i uninstalled ArmA and started with a fresh install. Now it is worse it will crash my system after about 15 mins of playing time and it stutters more . Has anyone had any luck in fixing this and is it a beta patch bug? Thank you Craig.

Ive got the same card and have always had a problem with scopes/ or zooming on areas with lots of trees and foliage. As already said you should try keygens mod it does help.

Don't say that dude ffs! I turned of pagefileing and it seems to have helped plus i spent a while defragging the HD again just to make sure. Thanx guyz.

I mostly play EVO online so i have to turn my settings down to the lowest (res 1024*768) other wise ArmA crashes all the time. It's weird because it only really happens when i use the zoom mode in town or scopes overlooking cities or wooded areas. I forgot to mention its a downloaded version of arma.

Luv the mod guyz great work but i have a problem when ever someone fires a launcher or theres an explosion my fps drops to about 2 or 3. This happens if i am looking at the explosion or even if i am not??? Has anyone eles had this problem and do they know a fix for it? Thanx Pile.

I am thinking of upgrading my current set up and need some advice on what option i should go for, the main reason for this upgrade is to play Armed Assault at a better frame rate than i am currently getting. I was thinking of either changing my GFX card from a Geforce 7800 GTX to a 8800 GTS 640MB or upgrade my Core duo E6300 to a Core duo E6850 what do you guys think would give me a better FPS the better card or the faster chip? The only reason i have thought of changing my CPU is because they have come down alot in price in the last couple of days and it would be cheaper than buying an 8800 at this point. Any comments welcome thanx

Ta guyz ive already OC ed my chip to 2.3ghz and cant go any further plus i have 2 gig of ram so i guess the new GFX card is the best choice, thanx pile.
