  1. To "silent 'n deadly"; WinRar is free?? It says it's $28 after the 30 day trial....?? What happens after 30 days-does it go inoperable?? I got the mod up and going after using Winrar-all I can say is you guys deserve a modmaking prize! Great,fantastic work!!! I'm creating a mission now-the only question I have is-are you guys real fussy about historical accuracy??...like can I invent a mission that's mostly fictional??
  2. I was using "Powerzip" - I also use the "Firefox" browser. I downloaded the Winrar trial-and -HOORAY-it extracted the same file Powerzip said was corrupt with no problem. Guess I'll just have to shell out the $$ for Winrar! Thanks for the tip
  3. OK guys, can some one help me.....I've downloaded the new mod 3 times (from the site) and when I go to extract the files I keep getting a "archive is corrupt" message. I have the beta-which works fine-but I'd really love to have the new version!
  4. Wow! I was thinking it would start a new campaign by itself-I didn't realize it was all there in the editor! Thanks for the help-now I can start making missions to keep me entrtained!
  5. I tried the launcher-it pusts up a screen that says "the countdown begins" and then the normal OFP menu screen comes up...

Well thanks for the reply....But I copied and pasted this and put it into the target box: "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -mod=CWMOD and I still get the invalid path message. The CWMOD folder (with its Addons and DTA folder inside) go in the OPF main folder,right? Or am I supposed to add the addons and DTA file to the main Resistance addon and DTA folder??? I'd really love to get this mod going..it sounds great.
  7. I can't seem to get this mod to run. I put the shortcut on my desktop and in the target box -I added the ending shown in the readme. When I hit apply-I keep getting this message; The name "C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE-mod=CWMOD" specified in the target box is not valid. What am I doing wrong??
  8. Hi; I downloaded the mod-put the CWMOD folder in my OFP main directory. I made a shortcut to OFPRESISTANCE.EXE and put it on my desktop. This is where I get confused...the directions say "Open" it. If I rightclick and pick open-it just starts the game. If I right click and hit properties-I don't understand where I'm supposed to type the address. Under Target? or start? Anyway I tried and couldnt get it to run-so I downloaded the angusjim launcher-when I pick CWMOD on that I get a cfgworld missing message. Help!

    Changes to config.cpp

    Yeah it's pretty much gibberish-you can see a couple trees in the background and maybe someone holding a pair of binoculars-and the screen seems to just doing a real fast vertical Fluttering (kinda like a oldtime movie only faster). When you try to move or something-nothing happens. I think I need to put the new config.cpp in a certain place but I dont know what the structure should be.
  10. I changed the town names and the soldeirs names in the config.cpp. They all show up like I changed them fine in the editor-but now in the preview or mission-the video is all garbled-and flickering. I didn't change anything else in the file-does anyone know what the problem may be?
  11. I downloaded the Leopard-leotard missionpak. I loved the first mission-the Island looks great. (jungle malden). However it didin't say in the readme-what do you do with the cutscene files?? When I put them in the addons-the game crashes. I don't know where they go. The other thing was-I thought the Island would make a good "Cuba." Maybe like a Bay of pigs scenario? Would anyone know if it's possible to change the names of the Island towns?? and how to go about it?
  12. i designed a singleplayer mission-got an intro, briefing,all that done-but i designed an lose outro that shows people crying at the graveside-but my problem is that when the player gets killed-the game switches over to the "Youre dead" screen and the outro doesn't play. How to make a trigger to "Lose" when player is killed-without game ending itself at that point?

    That doesn't work-I just get the "You are dead" screen as soon as the player dies. Is there anyway to disable this?
  14. I've spent the entire afternoon trying to get landmines to explode when an enemy patrol walks on them. Yes I know the regular mines are only for vehicles-but why is there a APmine in the editor if it won't work? I've set it up like it says in all the tips-even used the floating mine thing-named it-set triggers-it NEVER goes off! Is there NO way to make it work with the editor-without typing 2 pages of script? Oh yeah, then theres the "script snippet" things-you download them and it's always a bunch of files with NO instructions on what to do to make them work! Then you download a "great tutorial" and its filled with helpful hints like "The trigger makes things trigger-why dont you play with that" or Synchrozize times things-try it." So failing to get the mines to work-I loaded up some satchel charges in an ammo box-but when I take them and crawl to the enemy vehicle-the action box doesnt give me the option to plant them!! Why?? Do I sound frustrated?? I think I'll go buy "Swat3!"

    Thank you both for the helpful comebacks. If someone would write "A guide to the OPF MISSION EDITOR for dummies," and write it so it would be really helpful-I think they'd make a lotta $$$$$!

    Steering wheel?

    I find it difficult to use the mouse/keyboard to drive cars and trucks. It looks like the driver is drunk-swerving from one side to the other! I hooked up my steering wheel and pedals-but it's not much better at controlling them. I see no option to calibrate wheels in the game. Does anyone use a steering wheel-or know how to make it more workable/less erratic in the game?

    What do you want to see in the next patch?

    I know it won't happen-but I wish they could make the player interface less burdensome. it's a real pain to navigate thru 2 or 3 different menus to find a command while youre being fired upon. And soldiers that don't get lost and cry "where are you" whenever you run more than 10 ft away!

    Command help?

    I had a problem trying to get my #2 man to follow me thru a gap in a fence. When I pointed at the opening he never went there-he'd go up to either side and cry "can't get there". I went back to the other side-put him in a line formation-and he still couldn't follow me staright thru! Is there a secret to do this? Also how do you get one of your men armed with satchel charges to plant them?? I'd move them up to the fence-hit their number-and action-and plant charges never shows!!

    Where are you?

    I wish they could change this stupid, confusing interface somehow.....can someone please tell me the best way to tell my group my position?? Why is there no "report position" option? What usually happens is they yell "Where are you?" (they get lost more than a blind kid at a swap meet), I hit the reply option, and try to point at my position-but usually end up firing a round into the ground like an idiot. Please tell me the best way to do this?

    That's what I've tried to do-but it seems like when I try to click on the ground-I end up firing a round into it? Do you have to shoulder your weapon first or something?

    Disappearing flags?

    Yes, I did them all the same (with the first letter of each word in caps) I put flags at the end of each town on the map, and they're all there! Wierd, Huh??
  22. Well, I'm trying to make my 1st mission, and something really weird is happening. I downloaded the Ireland flag and put it in the game per instructions and typed the appropriate script in the ini field. Then I made a graveyard around it with graves and put a fence around the whole thing. I saved it and exited. Now later, I load up the mission in the editor-and the flag is off the flagpole-and the fence is gone! The graves are still there with a empty flagpole! Can someone explain this to me?? ps-I've put the same flag in other locations and they stay there!

    Copperhead; Thanks for the help-I mean the Town names on the map-and the soldiers names on the "group" list where it shows you what gear they have-they all have personal names-can you change these?? (it's weird having all your British soldiers named Jusef and Ivan!
  24. Hi; I'm trying to make my first mission-and a few problems are driving me crazy. So, heres a few questions to the "mission guru's" out there. 1. I've been trying to change my players weapon from a Aks-74U to a M21-I tried the technique from Abuu's tutorial that says to use the "this removeall weapons" command in the init field. It always comes back with a message that the command isn;t recognized. So I tried the "this removeweapon "AK74SU"; command in the init field. It doesn't give me an error-but the weapon never changes! Question-in some tutorials the commands are using This and other tutorials say "this"? Is the capitalization important? 2.How do you place objects like furniture INSIDE a building? Like in the Castle ruins in Everon where you have multi-levels-how would you place objects in each individual level?? 3.Is there anyway to quickly make a fence stretch a long distance and be straight-without doing each link by hand? 4.Is there a way to change the names of the towns on the maps, and the names of the individual soldiers in your unit?? Thanks for any help!

I'm attempting to make my first mission-using the various tutorials, etc. I downloaded a "prison camp" addon which I want to use as an enemy prison camp to attack and free the prisoners. the camp has machine gun turrets at the corners. Question; 1. How do I put gunners at the turrets that will man those guns? (enemy ones)? 2.Sometimes in the editor the "preview" button disappears? why? how do i get it back? 3. How do I erase a unit(s) that I put in the wrong place-without clearing everything I've done up to that point? Thanks for any help......Bill
