Hey, I gotta reinstall windows, so I wanna know how I keep Red Hammer? I'm gonna have to reinstall Operation Flashpoint but I don't want to have to pay to reinstall Red Hammer? Do I just have to back up the three files listed on Avon's FAQ? Thanks in advance.

If so, are you running OFP in 16 or 32 bit color depth? If in 16, try 32 - it might actually be faster with the newest gfx cards.<span id='postcolor'> Yeah, I'm using the most recent reference drivers, and I've tried atleast one unsupported driver without any noticable difference. Also, I am playing in 32 bit mode cause I read somewhere that OFP was designed to be run in 32 bit mode. Strangely, this new card (Radeon 8500) is not running any smoother than my old Radeon 64 VE, which is not even a gaming card!

I've tried screwing around with basically everything that I can under the advanced display properties option. I have a feeling that it is a driver issue, but if anybody has had a good experience with the Radeon 8500 and Operation Flashpoint I would like to hear because from I've heard, there seems to be a reocurring problem with the new Radeon 8500's.<span id='postcolor'> When experimenting with different settings, you need to reboot your machine since some of the changes don't take effect until then. I have a Radeon 64MB DDR VIVO, which seems to run OFP well with V-sync off, 8-bit stencil on and W-buffer off, in T&L mode, resolution 1024x768. I'm using the latest "official" driver from ATI.<span id='postcolor'> Hey, My old Radeon 64 VE ran OFP smoothly at 800x600, but the new Radeon 8500 runs horribly at 800x600. In fact, it runs best at 1600x1200, yet it's still not as smooth as my old card running at 800x600. Boy, I hope the next drivers, whenever they are released, solve this.

Hey, I'm having the same problem with my Radeon 8500 and OFP. My old Radeon got as smooth of a gameplay as I get with this card, sometimes even smoother. I've tried tweaking everything possible as well, but I have no idea. All I know is that my FPS range from between 10 fps and 70 fps at 1600x1200, and the lower the resolution I go the lower the top frame rate I get, so I figure that it is a driver issue that has yet to be addressed by ATI. Sucks for us.

My problem is a FPS problem. I get a very inconsistent fps rate. I have the new Radeon 8500 with the updated drivers, but my old Radeon ran more smoothly than this one does. I'm guessing it's just a driver issue and will be corrected in due time though, atleast that's what I hope.

Hey, I just got a new Radeon 8500 in my computer and I seem to be having some performance problems now. I downloaded Fraps and tested my FPS, and I seem to flow between 10 and 70 FPS, I get 70 at 1600x1200 but it dips down to 10 sometimes. On lower resolutions however, I can't get above 30 FPS and I still get dips down to 10. My old card was a Radeon VE 64 meg, which came with my Gateway and was not optimised for gaming, but with that card I never really experienced slowdowns when I used that card, which I ran at 800x600. I don't understand why I am having this problem, considering this card is supposed to be so capable. Could it just be a driver issue? I've tried both the 4.13.7191 driver, which is supported by Microsoft as well as the 4.13.4202 driver, which is not yet supported by Microsoft, and the problems remain identical. I've heard some people aren't having any problems with this card on this game, yet I am. Here's my specs: 1.4 Ghz AMD Athlon 256 Megs RAM (not DDR) ATI Radeon 8500 64 updated drivers Microstar MS-6389 motherboard? Should I try updating anything else? Something I've heard people do to help performance is to update their BIOS. Should I do that, or would that not help? If I should, how would I do it? Thanks.
