    Idiotic CD Detecting Patches

placebo... thanks for the response. Â I have visited the avon lady and attempted to go through the steps to "fix" the issue. Â No luck on all counts. Â I have e-mailed BIS support w/ no response. Â Maybe I should give Codemasters a try. If you have the e-mail link address for Codemasters tech support, I would greatly appreciate it. Â [Can't access the codemasters site from work ]

Which age-old bug should be fixed ??

</span><table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="3" cellspacing="1"><tr><td>Quote (Drewus @ Jan. 20 2002,23:21)</td></tr><tr><td id="QUOTE">Before anything else, i think they should fix the Safedisk copy protection problems that alot of people (not myself) seem to be having trouble with when using the patches. This seems to be the most critical bug (it is game destroying after all) and i think they really need to work with Codemasters in trying to find a solution to it. Like it's been pointed out before, if someone has bought the game, and has the system to run it then they should be able to patch the game without any problems at all. They have payed their money for the game so they atleast have a right to be able to use it properly.<span id='postcolor'> On behalf of one of those affected by SafeDisc issues, thank you!!

Lupus... just to let you know... you're not the only one w/ that problem. I e-mailed BIS on Jan. 6th and still haven't heard anything. Congratulations on your new $40 coaster!! This is a REAL problem for people who PURCHASED the game. In all occurences I've read about, it occurred w/ the US Retail version (not to say it doesn't exist on the UK version, I just haven't seen any posts on it).

    cant install the any patch

On my pc, I disabled the DMA on the CD-ROM drive, but was not given the option to do so for the hard drive (grayed out in device manager properties). After doing so, I tried to re-execute the upgrade.... no luck. Does anyone else have possible solutions? Also, does it matter that I am trying to apply the ultimate upgrade 3 instead of just trying to load the 1.3 patch?
