Well, while we are on that subject, I disagree with this whole "We're making one of those, you go make something else" hell, maybe his is better than yours, but if we can't compare we won't know. this isn't rocket science, the fate of nations doesn't hang upon our efforts, we should not sweat this. In my Combat Flight simulator files I have over 23 different versions of the FW190-D9, by 23 different folks, which one do I like? ALL OF THEM. As far as teasers, hmm, on one hand they do dilute effort from the mod and open the mod to copytheft, On the other hand, how many mods have released screens of interesting stuff you'd like to have, only to go belly up and vanish without releasing ANY of their work? And btw, some of you forget one salient point, you do not have any authority whatsoever, you cannot make folks do, not do, release,or not release. you can ask nicely and hope for the best, and that's about it.

Helos can mount M2's we just don't like to <the M2's recoil tends to open seams and pop rivets, very unpopular with crewchiefs>

Does it bother you that friggin much? DON'T READ IT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO, Idiots

Actually, the airhead pundits don't get it, it's all about cost effectiveness. There isn't an APC out there that cannot be killed by today's shoulder-fired LAAW weapons, and the only way you would make an APC that could would be to make it into an undergunned tank, which would be too costly to be realistic. Militaries buy these things based on upkeep and overall cost, the LAV is no more a nightmare to maintain than a bradly, with the plus of tires not wearing out as fast as tracks <the real reason they're so attractive>

Complete WOC-D,transition OH-3,then accumlate about 6000 hrs, then we'll talk about "just" about right, ok? REMF?

Yep secured to the saddle tubes of the skids, if you look at the 1st photo you posted <which looks to be Korea> you'll see a plexiglass canopy on the ground in front of the bird's nose, this was fitted over the stretcher to cover the head and upper body to protect from rotorwash.

Nice detail, love the swashplate detail, everytime I look at it, in the back of my mind I'm going "hmm where's that 9/16ths?"

That's an extension of the exhaust pipe, called a deep water fording kit, only found on Marine Hummers.

Or you could take your own advice, instead of trying to "enlighten" me,friggin crusader. People like you, believe that they have the only valid opinion, they have a name for that, but I'm polite.

Ox, don't sweat the kiddies, it's a dead giveaway as to their own level of thought when they get ugly so quickly. <any of you that don't like that, deal with it, after all it is YOUR problem> Ox may not be right, but he's not far from wrong, the problem is total conv take so much time and effort and resources that natural selection goes to work. If 1/5th of the mods out there actually make it, it would be a banner year for the ENTIRE mod community period, Anybody who doubts that hasn't been doing it long enough, or merely likes the contrarian point of view.

Big aircraft and how to handle them
pzvg replied to Ludovico Technique's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Kid, you don't really want to play this game, trust me. "gramps" here has been kicking ass and taking names the RA way nearly as long as you've been alive <hint I was on my second tour in the DBR when you were born. But seeing as I'm a "moron" because my data conflicts with your opinion, not like you'd care, But feel free to blame it on me when the mods torch the thread. <kids these days> -
Wonder, I think the point being made isn't about English skills. Do I Build on other folks models? Yes, and they get FULL CREDIT, Do I trash honest effort? NO, someone took the time to DO SOMETHING, which required a lot more from them than making snide comments in a forum. I think the saying goes, "Ya can talk the talk, but can ya walk the walk?" Don't defend them, I've seen their comments on other subjects as well, Can you say l33t b0b?

A few notes; 1) grow up 2) learn to be your own spell checker 3) Don't rely on bad TV quotes to try to put people down, the impact is kinda diluted by having 1.5 million braindead infants using the same line. You see, unlike you, I was actually in this line of work, and I know the inside story, so stop trying to play internet commando and impress folks with your websearch skills junior, because I have a real shocker for you, NOT everything's on the net. Have a very crappy day. -
well Miles. if someone would actually model a T-62 <most common Iraqi tank of the period> I wouldn't mind doing one up, (be a rather bloody affair, both sides lacked C3I and decent logistical support, tended to turn fights into last-man-standing slugfests) Vice modern day, according to Janes, the Iranians still have at least 2 tomcats operational, they seem to employ them as a "poor man's AWACS" (that bigassed radar in the nose) out of Bandar Abbas <sp?>

did he credit the original maker this time?

Too tall, I'm on the road so I cannot barrage you with pics When you come down from being pendantic, reread my post <btw design and proof of concept date from aug of 1949, I have factory data> I know it's still <sorta> capable, and will be for at least 10 more years, trouble is , most of the heavy fleet is going to be axed by 2009, with 8th Air Force coming Air Combat Command in 2005. -

Ok folks quick before I run outta town <biz> STEAM has been very cool, allowing me to post modified versions of his excellent work, so I guess I may forge ahead with this stuff, So some drool stuff foah yas, <and keep the gripes pertinent and minimal, nothing is CLOSE to finished yet>

First you have to try to imagine what Nogova's standing Military/police used, that would be your basis for "homegrown" military-grade equipment. Civil-grade should make up about 40% of a Resistance forces arms "homegrown" <see above> should make up about 10% (most local weapons would have been destroyed or captured and shipped off, or maybe in storage somewhere) That's 50%, naturally, the other 50% to round out a guerilla forces TO&E would come from the enemy. (side note, outside America, personal ownership of collectible functioning military arms is pretty rare, so I really don't see half of the Island having MP-40's Which have a mean street price of about $5000 USD for a NONfunctioning one)

Hey now vik, what y'all got against Coke? And puhleeze don't judge the relative strength of ANY military based on Hollywood, any actors that actually served in combat are dead by now, and the directors are all left-leaning militaryhating pansies. ot- I think by putting it on the MT OFP redefined it as a turret, which means <to ofp, anyway> that the gunner is "inside" now and cannot be hit, Suma? a little input please?

Shut UP Fubar, everytime talented people form a team, the addons dry up. Geez, at least now they put stuff out
