Solved the strange hanging but no error messages. Tested the switch: -dsound And that made it work. Sad that this advice can't be found anyware.

Hello, Haven't found any solution either to getting the demo to start correctly. Now it just runs in task manager at 50% cpu usage (2 core C2D 6750 CPU) Dl the latest demo 3 times. (1.06.5149) Here is what I tested so far: - nosound - maxmem=512 - server (works propably) Run As Administrator Remove and reinstall OpenAL - latest driver for audio, video & chipset. - been reading this forum for over 3 hours... I allways seen demos as a good marketing thing, but this time it's turning against BI studios, because as long as I don't get this demo working I'm not going to buy the actual game either. The demo worked fine on my previous system but only on lowest settings. So now with this new system I actually could have bought it. New Nforce 2.45 drivers w/ 3.84 audio drivers seems to fix my problems. Asus A7N8X 1.04. Now EAX sounds play correct.

Hello same problems here. Done everything according to the instructions. The Linux box is also running a firewall and masqurading services. Regardles witch ports I use I always get the same error: Server creation failed : port nr In the firewall log I get this error: Jan 1 20:27:21 oltzi kernel: IPTables FORWARD ERROR:IN=eth0 OUT=eth1 SRC="EXTERNAL IP" DST=192.168.0.5 LEN=49 TOS=0x00 PREC=0x00 TTL=117 ID=11918 PROTO=UDP SPT=2302 DPT=6073 LEN=29 I can't get it why the server has to use any connections to my LAN? Or is the server software in any way configurable to only use eth0 for instance?
