I am trying to follow the objectives of the BAS "Urban Rescue" mission. You are supposed to put one of your snipers on the roof of a tower in Petrovice while remaining undetected. But their is a maintenance worker in the elevator of the tower, and if he sees you (or you kill him) then the enemy is alerted. The intel says to find another way up, but how else can you get on top of the tower? If you use a chopper insertion, then the enemy is obviously alerted. I can climb the tower next to the one I need to be on, but there is no way to get across to the other tower. How could this objective possibly be reached?

RaptorAce- I got this mission as part of the BAS SpecOps SP/MP mission pack at theavonlady.org faq page, under the August 11 anouncement. I have tried using a silenced pistol, but the base is still alerted. I will try to "jump" from one rooftop to another again, but I have never been able to do it. Is there a trick to jumping . . . I have tried sprinting, but how do you jump?

I've been trying to finish this mission for weeks now. I get to the final base and kill every enemy. Then I call in the friendly tanks and successfully repel the second wave of enemy infantry. I have even skirted the area surrounding the base in every direction to make sure all enemies are destroyed. But the mission never ends. The briefing map shows the "attack base" objective and "hold base objective" as not completed. I read somewhere about a waypoint problem that causes enemy units to get stuck to the NE of the base. So I have tried scouting out about a mile to the NE with no luck. Is there some secret to ending this mission?

To end the mission press the left shift key and the minus key on the numpad at the same time, then release and type 'endmission'. I've heard if you do this on too many missions you will get a dishonorable discharge though! I still can't get the mission to end without the cheat, and I've played it at least 50 times now.

I love this mission too; actually it's one of my favorites! But for some reason I just can't get it to end ever. I've tried about a billion times now with different tactics each time. Guess I'm just having some bad luck tracking down every last soldier. Not a big deal, but it is the first time I've had to use the endmission cheat so my pride is now bruised! I also finished the Resistance campaign for the first time yesterday. I don't know whether to celebrate victory or cry about the end of such a killer game!

I have now played this mission at least another 20 times making sure I've killed all soldiers. After the chateau objective is complete, I've run across one patrol between the chateau and the main enemy base. I killed them all. I then positioned soldiers to guard advance from the southern end of the base while others attacked from the forest in the north. I stayed high on a hill to the NE with my Dragunov and watched to make sure not a single soldier escaped. None did. When the second small wave came, I destroyed every last one with the HEAT rounds from the BMP. I am certain that no enemies escaped. Since I have done this a few dozen times now, I am wondering if anyone else was able to advance past this mission in a reasonable amount of tries. There seems to be a major bug causing the mission not to end. I have never had to use the 'endmission' cheat in any other CWC or Resistance mission, but I am left with no other option (other than just playing this mission for the rest of my natural life.)

I recently got OFP Cold War Crisis and have finished the campaign and single missions. I installed the 1.30 and 1.46 patch, but I would like to install some add-ons. I have tried searching posts here and everywhere, but haven't found an answer yet. I am confused about the patch vs. ultimate upgrade situation. I have been to the download section at Codemasters and have seen a weapon add-on pack with the G36, Bizon, and more, but it says to get them on the 'Download' page. But there is no weapon pack, just upgrades, patches, and ultimate upgrades. The 1.30 ultimate upgrade shows these weapons, but I don't need all the 1.30 patch files downloaded again, do I? And the missions that it adds (C01-Convoy, C02-Battlefields, B02-HMMWV) are ones I already have either from the 1.46 upgrade or something. But I have never seen the G36 or Bizon or anything while playing the game. What do I need to do to have all of the official upgrades/patches/add-ons or whatever? I have tried downloading unofficial add-ons such as 'Operation lojack' by Toadlife, and it is not supposed to need anything but the official upgrades. I put the .pbo file in my OPF 'AddOns' folder, but I can't find it in the game. Would it be under Single Missions? I am thinking that I must need some type of official add-on or upgrade or something to make these work.

Thanks everyone. I reverted to the mission before this one and played it again. At first I ran into the same problem, but the 3rd or 4th time the truck did show up and the mission ended.

I'm probably being an idiot and overlooking the obvious, but I just started playing OPF for the first time and am stuck. I am on the 'Alert' mission where you board an M113 in Morton and travel northwest to "eliminate hostiles". When I arrive, the lieutenant is dead in his jeep and a firefight breaks out. After advancing forward and eliminating the enemy, the platoon regroups in a line back near the jeep. But from that point on the platoon just stands there in the line formation. No further orders are issued, and no matter what I do or how long I wait nothing happens. The mission never ends! What am I doing wrong? TIA
