    Oh also, a few requests... I know that you changed the smoke code to help cut down on lag. However, would it be possible to make a High detail version with the much more realistic smoke effects? Also, I know it's vital to the bayonet fighting to have units in the "up" position, but that also eliminates any possibility of using the "safe" mode for things such as picketts or columns of march. Careless mode just makes it too easy to ambush. Let it be up to the user weather or not to use bayonet fighting rather than neutralize one of the basic combat modes...

    excellent work! I cant wait for the new release! btw, makesure that both in the fortress and the walled city that there are firing steps on the walls...I want to be able to defend a city properly... Also, anychance that the walled city will be star shaped like Badajoz, cuidad rodrigo or almeida? keep up the good work!

    Just another idea. How about USCTs? You gould do the famous early ones like 54th Mass, or the later ones like the 73rd USCT. It'd be an interesting and unique addition... I'd really enjoy it anyway.

    FDFMOD 1.4 OUT

    Excellent mod! I'm so glad you guys released the ww2 pack. However I have a problem. For some reason, OFP is rejecting the mod, and everytime i play, the aim gets worse and worse until it's unplayable. I'm using a clean copy of the FDF 1.3 with it upgraded to 1.4...nothing else. Oh, and i'm running v1.96 Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated, b/c of the short time that i played it, it was amazing!

    Is there anyway to code the accuracy into the muskets. make their range like 50 yards or so? If thats not possible code the infantry to start to engage at 50 yds. As it is right now, the baker is on the same level at the normal musket except it has less rounds. The baker should be a much more formidable weapon, with a range of 300 yds or so. when compared to the musket's 50-100, it should make the player think twice about engaging riflemen. (or more confident when playing as one...) The only downside to this is that the baker reload should be much longer (up to a minute to load one properly or when fouled) Please, make the baker the superior weapon that it is!

    the pennsylvania ( ) rifle looks good, but for the bess, you should remove the barrel band, and the rear sight (the front sight wasnt a sight at all but a bayonet lug. Thats why its make ready, present; not ready, aim...) here's a good pic of the bess and the lock and the lock oh, and since there are flintlocks being made, any possibility of a charleville? keep up the great work!

    While playing around i noticed something was absent. I think that the dismounted Dragoons, french especially need a carbine, as that was a nessecity for their job. at least in the way that the french used dragoons, they were more of light infantry carried to the fight on horseback. While mounted dragoons should and do use swords, i think that the dismounted unit needs a carbine. The enfield musketoon is what I have been using in my missions and it seems to fit nicely.

    The cavalry is awesome. Standing as an infantryman, a cavalry charge is terrifying, especially since you only get 1-2 shots before they're on you. My voltigeurs have been broken more than once by cossacks...

    WWIIEC : Caen 1944

    absolutely amazing...I really am speachless. It looks like a whole new game! Finally some good commonwealth models to put those yanks to shame! After these are released, is there any hope of canadian infantry in the invasion boots, mk3 helmets and green uniforms? I'd love to be running around on the outskirts of Caen mowing down 12th SS as a Queen's Own Rifles... drool

    spad, you should release the franco-prussian troops when they're in a workable state, i'm drooling over the thought of the battle of Sedan in ofp... and gavin, the napoleonic troops look good, but could you remove the moustaches on the french troops? it it were the old grenadier guard i'd say ok, b/c almost all of them had em, but for normal line soldiers, it definately wasnt seen on every person...

    I completely agree with barron about the objects. I think if you could get some ceveaux de fraise and some wicker basket earthworks made it'd be alot more fun when making missions. there could even be a (dare i say?) Petersburg style mission... As for gameplay, i've found that its more enjoyable and natural for the player to operate with skirmishers. While i do enjoy standing in line and trading shots with the enemy, i am the minority. playing as a skirmisher gives the average ofp player the freedom that they are used to and still a general similarity to modern tactics. As for the weapons, i beleive they are deadly accurate in trained hands. While reading many accounts from revwar to civil war the officers and other types always tell their men to aim low. Before i had been aiming at center mass like most people. but i tried this out once and my accuracy soared! I can reliably get kills at 100-200 meters consistantly now by aiming at the waist or below... you be amazed at what you can learn from some dusty old books. It sure surprised me...
