LOST BROTHERS ADDON PACK #3 FINALLY RELEASED
neonblack replied to miles teg's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I got a couple of sound bugs to report. The suppressed Ruger 10/22 is way too loud. Almost as loud as the M24. It doesn't even sound right for a .22 anyway, silenced or not. And the silenced SR-25 sounds the same as the un-silenced SR-25. -
I've been toying around with the beta patch since yesterday, and I've noticed some slightly improved performance. Its still laggy as hell with my ATI Radeon XPRESS 200-series video card on anything other than "low quality" settings, but the patch has helped. And in the mission editor, where you can select a year for the mission, I've noticed it only goes from 1995 to 2009. Umm... Think you can extend that from, say... 1800 to 2100?

LOST BROTHERS LEBANON/SINAI UPDATE/MAP RELEASE
neonblack replied to miles teg's topic in ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
Been playing around with the Lebanon Map in the editor, and so far so good. I do get a lot of lag when playing around the cities and villages however. Looking forward to when you finish the map and fill it out a bit more. -
Quick question, how do you use the airstrike option in the editor? I tried it out on Tonal just for the hell of it, and it crashed my computer. Do you need to put down any aircraft for the option to work, or do the bombs just fall out of thin air? (Yes I know how stupid that sounds but I'm serious, I really don't know.)

This is the first in what I plan to be a series of missions set in an alternate 20--'s. The basic premise of the missions is that in in the 2000 US Presidential Elections Al Gore won, instead of George Bush, setting off a chain of events that leads to international peace-keeping forces occupying America. (More to the story, but all thats in the mission briefing.) This is the first mission I've ever made with the intention of releasing, and theres going to be a few bugs with the mission briefing. Also I made and tested this in FFUR 2007, so I don't know how well it'll work with any other mods, or with un-modded OFP. The only two addons needed are 'Hyk US Soldiers Pack (2.02)" and "AWM Land Pack". -------------- Jan 29; I finished my second mission in this series, "Nevada Vulcan", and here it is for download. It uses the same addons as the first, so no need to download anything new. (Can a mod change the title of the thread to "Democracy Under Occupation"? Thanks.) Download First Mission Download Second Mission Download Hyk's US Soldier and OPFOR Pack Download AWM Land Pack

True, but its a beautiful island and kinda unique since there aren't many North America maps. Only thing about it is I just wish it had some railroad tracks on it, and it was a bit bigger with more suburban areas. Oh and what does everybody think about the missions? Good, bad, need any improvements?
-
Second mission in the series released, see first post for link to download.
-
Hey, I went back and added the links didn't I?
-
OK, I went back and added links to the two addons to the first post.

Mod for Arma of OFP1? (1 yr transition period)
neonblack replied to philcommando's topic in ADDONS & MODS: DISCUSSION
Flashpoint, just because ArmA isn't released in the US yet. -
No, you need 1.96 for FFUR 2007... And pretty much everything else. Try re downloading the patch again and running it, or delete it and restart the computer and download and run it again.

I'm not sure which forum this would go under, but this seems to be the closest one. But anyway, I'm stuck on the third mission of the Tonal Insurgency campaign, and I need help. How the fucking hell do you beat it? You start out way away from your squad, which gets totally wiped out pretty quick, and I can't get past the first objective. What do you do from the start of the mission and from that point forward to the end?
-
OK thanks... Still haven't beaten the mission, but I've made it to the point where you blow up the second ammo dump. Far away but closer still... ^_^

Separate ArmA poster and map. Extensively detailed manual on modding, mission-editing, with a strategy guide?

Thanks for the bug report, but it won't be fixed as it's not that big of an issue. Can you post a pic? I have just never noticed it before. I also wouldn't really call that a bug, lol. Just an annoyance. Do you notice it in missions or only when you look at the units in 3rd person in the editor? I haven't played any missions with the new Tonal, so I've only noticed this in the editor. But anyway, two pics. Theres only one militia guy in the pics, but this glitch appears on all of them.
-
First bug report. The militia guys, both East and Resistance, the torso is a bit off-set. It looks to be set a little to the right, when looking at the back in 3rd-person view.

A VTE update, and Tonal Redux both released in the same week? Could this weekend possibly get any better?
-
On the note of classic games they forgot... "Blood". I cannot belive they forgot Blood; the game I spent my grade-school years playing left in the dust. But I think OFP should have gotten in the top fifty if not top 20, just by the size of the community that still plays it, and the amount of mods and addons that are still being released every month. I mean you don't see that kind of following for "Spongebob Squarepants"

Finally got my copy of "Settling Accounts" and I was a little "inspired". http://server6.theimagehosting.com/image.php?img=FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE 2006-09-03 15-08-46-40.9c7.JPG Invasion1944 demo -
I know on the first page of this thread, BIS said they didn't have a world-wide publisher for AA yet, but I think I heard this week they found a publisher who was "focused on German-speaking areas". Does this mean we won't see AA on store shelves in the US, or are they still looking to find a company to distrubute world-wide?
