Thats messed up. Instead of calling you an F'ing little sicko, i'll just remind you that humans and animals do the best they can with what they have mentally and physically, so whatever the reason for your hate, theres no need for it.

7950GX2 here also, w/ Athlon 64 3800+ / 1 gig ram / cable internet. I am trying to get good performance at 1920x1200 however. But even at 1024x768, the performance isn't great. Is there a way to turn off aa, not just setting it to low??? thanks,

Thanks for helping us other Americans look bad with your comments.

What do you *HOPE* will be in ArmA modding?
noisycricket replied to Ukraineboy's topic in ARMA - GENERAL
No, unless it kept you from shooting Bambi/Noodles-the-cute-squirrel(who never did anything wrong in their life) in real life. -
Just wanted to pipe in that i don't think theres a better implementation of the switch between "gun at-the-ready" and "aiming" view as in Call of Duty 2. Its all done in 3d and the animation is realistic, smooth and fast. It just looks and feels real. On top of that, the gun moves off-center when you turn around. Ya might try the demo

Whats the deal with Starforce?

I don't know enough to vote, but I'm all for realism and immersion. Getting a large number of individual realism mods together in one pack is important to get servers to use them i think.

I for one wont complain if the "burning bodies" script doesn't make it in......ever. Im having a hard time understanding why anyone would want that.

Thunderbird84, Im going to try my hand at re-animating the characters using OFPanim, and wanted to use the main FFUR 1985 character model as a reference if possible. Can you tell me what .pbo he is in?

I really like the addition of the walking crouched. Is it just me though, or is it supposed to have the character stand up first, just as you begin to move, then he crouches back down?

Battlefield 2, although not know for its realism has actually come up with an idea that i hope you incorporate into your next-gen title. Its the basic flight characteristics of the jets and helicopters. For example in a jet when you make a hard left turn, you roll right 90 degrees, then pull straight up. In helo's, if you roll right or left too far, there's nothing to stop you from going out of control and crashing. This really makes it challenging to fly, but that's what you would expect from a jet or helo and i think players would appreciate that kind of complexity with no "training wheels"(i mean if BF2 players can do it..........) If this isn't incorporated within OF2 now, i really encourage the dev's to download the BF2 demo and go onto a server with just a few other players who aren't using the air vehicles. btw, I'm not saying a flight model like Falcon 4.0, EECH, or Longbow 2, I'm just referring to the basics. Good luck!

Not a big deal, but since your aiming for realism....I've heard several times from sources i don't remember that cars don't "explode" from being hit by bullets. Also on the TV show, Myth Busters, they shot at a car's gas tank directly with a variety of round sizes trying to get it to explode like in the movies. Neither will a fire in a car likely cause the car to explode, simply because liquid gasoline doesn't burn, vapor does. tested with the second sports car in the list and MP5 of the Black op day. One other thing I'm going to mention in the Next gen forums for BIS is that i hope realistic flight control characteristics are incorporated at some point. Battlefield-2 MC(despite its unrealism) has gone further than any other military shooter FPS in regards to the basic flight control responses. For example, in a fighter, your roll left 90 and pull up to make a hard left turn and in the heli's there in nothing saving you from rolling the helicopter too far and crashing(i did it many times). Its really fun actually to fly these as they respond in realistic ways and its challenging to get right....buy hey, its in BF2 so its not like its too difficult for OFP players, who i assume want realism. Good work, hope you guys had fun making all this stuff.

Well, i'm just posting to let ya'll know that ofp's fps isn't that spectacular on the 8500 on my system. I've tried to tweak many settings, played with different drivers, and registery settings but no improvement. FPS isn't a whole lot better than my geforce 256(geforce 1). I dunno, i just hope theres something that you guys can do in your game to up the fps for a particular card like many game dev's do. I run at 1024*768, 32 bit, no w-buffer, no object shadows, everything else high(in the game menu). Direct 3D, no HW T@L. My benchmark is 1824 went down when i installed this card. 1.2 gig ddr athlon K7 master-s AMD northbridge 256mb's of ddr @266mhz sblive value (windows xp default drivers) Windows XP Home Radeon 8500 retail (latest drivers) using fraps i was getting about 26-28fps in the bomberman mission(just as it started, looking at the town and NOT moving the mouse) Thanks for any help,

..........just about everything. I reinstalled xp, tried disabling xp services, tweak programs, praying, used different drivers, hacked drivers, but no good. The problem is that the game is very slow fps wise, when theres only a few objects, its fine, but when things start moving or get close, the fps can go too far down for the strength of this card. My biggest gripe with this issue, is that the fps of my old geforce 1(256) was about equal to this card. Athlon 1.2 512 drr @266mhz Radeon 8500 XP home sblive value(latest xp drivers) Amd agp drivers Latest via southbridge drivers To developers: if you want more specifics then just say the word. Btw: many people on the Rage3d site are reporting the same thing. check it out: http://www.rage3d.com/board/ Thanks,

On the Anand-Tech forums they are raving about the fact that you can get ANY Ti200 to the same speeds as the Ti500 by overclocking, FYI.

I was runnin a geforce 1, the original (OG...:-)) On a side note: my system on win 98 w/ the Radeon (OEM) I got a 3D Mark 2001 score of 6072. Upgrading to Windows XP with the Radeon (RETAIL) got me a score of 5900. Ah well, i'll have to spend some more time tweaking i guess. Or maybe ATI will get some new drivers out.

My screen goes dark too. Thanks for the fix. win xp radeon 8500 retail sblive 1.2 gig 512 266
