    Hardware and settings for ArmA

Here are my specs of my 5 year old PC (hoping to get upgrade soon): Intel P4 2.4ghz running at 2.6 Asus P4PE mobo ATI 1600 Pro 512mb 1024 Mbs of DDR 333 ram Since I'm buying a new paintball marker soon, my cash flow is restricted and I cant get a new PC yet. Right now I need to run arma on pretty much the lowest settings (except the objects and texture settings which i do normal and low respectively since any lower = objects dont get rendered till they're in my face) to get decent framerates (25-35 if i'm really lucky) and in forests it all goes to hell. I'm wondering if upgrading to 2gbs of ram would help or is my computer really beyond help? I just want it to hold me over till I get a new PC but I still want to play arma at a good framerate. (top notch graphics at the moment are not the biggest concern, just playable framerates so like anything 20-25 or more fps is good)
  2. So, like I said, I'm new to ARMA. I've played many great mods from the Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2 games, and in all those cases mods were activated ingame and had alot more than say one tank or weapon or one simple function like sound changes and they worked online only when multiple clients had the same mod. Here in ARMA, I'm sifting through the mods list and I realize that many mods are basically simply weapon addons, and sometimes only one new weapon is in the addon. Will I be able to play these mods online? How does ARMA addons work? I'm very enthusiastic about trying all the great content i'm seeing but I'm just so confused. Please enlighten an ARMA newbie on how these addons and mods work in single and multiplay. Oh and while you're at it, suggest some good realism enhancement mods that are played online by sizable amounts of players please =)

    Sniper and Convoy

How do you do this mission? I get on the water tower, take careful aim (headshots) And go boom boom boom. One in like every 5 shots hits its target and sometimes i just end up with bullets taken by the AI's vest. So therefore on average its like 10 shots a kill. I used to play America's Army and I don't think the SPR in that game was even this inaccurate. What am I missing here? The bullets seem to have random spreads to them and never land at reticle =T....
