    I dont understand the poll. What will it matter the outcome? if most people think that its less realistic does that mean it will be? no, we wont know till we actually play it. We've been assured many many times through press releases that the game will indeed be more realistic.

    If thats the case, why not release incremental weapon packs. i.e m16 pack, m4 pack, sniper pack, mg pack etc etc. Maybe you thought of this maybe not, seems a hell of alot easier if your workin on it 1hr a week Just a thought

    Why this is a 12 page thread i dont know. It seems to be a "yes" or a "no" question to the Devs. I would guess such threads are not answered because: A: The Devs are extremely busy being a 15 member team working on a very advanced game. B: They choose not to answer as to do so would result in hundreds of questions/threads like "will there be a Vulcan?" "Will there be a SCUD?" "Will there be a T-90?" "will there be blow-up dolls?" Can we move on in other thread instead of doing the frankenstein on this thread by keeping it alive for way longer than it should. I say this because people are now discussing rifles for crying out loud.

    im no expert on modding but that looks like a AF problem. If your card supports it, put it up to 16x and take a look.

    ive been scanning through the posts looking for posts on the optics. The aimpoint model and optic are great. Just wanted to make a small request that you make the actuall red dot smaller and maybe more like a laser, transparant. m'kay... btw, what er your plans for armed assault? i can imagin the guns looking SO much better with normal maps for the fore grips and spec maps on the lense's . guess you'll have to see whats possible first right :P (do'h) lookin forward to the update.

    OFP vehicles always had counter parts. Since you KNOW for sure there is an AH-64 (cobra gunship) then there will be a mi-24. Even if there isnt, why are you concerned in the slightest? The community super hero addon makers will save the day.

    muffling what is already mostly a muffled sound? get outta here you crazy cat! EDIT: whoops, sorry for making requests/suggestions. I'll leave it up to you to delete or whatever. :\ I wonder if, this means not only radio talk but mouth to mouth talk too. (ala VC 1) where you may here enemys talking in the bushes at say 10meters away. oh and i'd like to see a feat that would mute other players in the squad while the team leader is talking. I play COOP and this is sometimes a big big problem on TS. Maybe this is offtopic, but in car radio for music would be badass. Servers could make some sort of playlist for all the vehicles. Think "apocolypes now",coming for attack and you here this music or even for just those long tedious journeys. (although it probably wont be so tedious with the now beautiful scenery.

    yah settle down kids and gather round. :P Nothing yet has been shown. BIS should start a small fire in their booth, that will get a few peoples attention From BIS website "Idea Games will demonstrate Armed Assault to publishers and jounalists at E3 2006 from 10th to 12th May 2006." Consoles are still taking the headlines for now, only a few (really previously unknown) pc games are making their way through atm. Im pretty sure i seen "alpha prime" on the gamespot.com website, but for the life of me i cant find it now. (if theres news on alpha prime, that means theres news on armed assualt soon seen as teh share booth/floor space.)

  13. Why the mix in low poly acog 4x and high poly? The low poly aimpoint and acog ruin the otherwise amazing guns. (not forgetting the elcan) The model of the eotech is fantastic but the 2d image is a real dissapointment. (edges are pixelated to hell) With such a huge weapon pack youve gone beyond the call of duty but, its very rushed overall. All the same, i hope your around making more great addons for armed assualt. Cant let someone with an obviously vast knowledge of special forces units and weapons dissapear Maybe incremental, polished realeases of weapon packs would be better. If i had to choose, id ask for a m14 sopmod pack thats the hottest gun ever.

    About grass. On low end machines the grass will most likely be there. It will just obviously not look as good nor have as much opacity has high detail grass. Low end machines will be at a dissadvantage. If youve read the rough min spec guide and youve had a heart attack about how much your needing to upgrade. Dont panic just yet. Wait till its on your computer, BIS are constantly optimizing. (go man go! With the new streaming tech, its allowed for grass, so welcome it with open arms About graphics in general. parallax mapping. (look it up if you dont know what it is) This is a pretty amazing graphical technology that works similar to bump mapping but does a better job. Its designed to desive the eye in thinking something is alot more high poly that it is. The bullet holes in "FEAR" are a perfect example. At first i thought it was a real model but when you look at it side on, you realise what it is. im not sure how useful this would be in armed assult, the normal maps on the brickwork look great as it is. The wow factor is already there. But for things like Iron sights, this would be a first that its used for that. Bullet holes in soldiers, tanks, walls, roads, ground and trees. on another point about graphics. I think native support widescreen should be addressed. I bought a nice wide screen lcd becuase i realised how instantly better it looked at nearly no hit in performance games looked. call of duty 2 feels very immersive as does the new Ghost recon. The field of view in widescreen is designed to simulate how a real person sees. And since you developers are in a quest for realisim (and fun) i dont think you can avoid this feature If you do decide this feature is worth having, please, please make sure the asspect ratio is correct for the iron sites/scopes. nothing worse than a oval scope and fat iron site Rant over. thanks for reading.

    Well they aint really gonna remove a feature thats already implemented. Personally this is an interesting feature for SP. I think they are just trying to throw in a bunch of new features and see which ones to keep. I guess its also to boost the idea that this isnt just a graphical improvement. its also chalk full of creative new ideas
  17. Maybe an original mission wouldnt show off all the improvements features but it would be cool to have a remake of the original demo of flashpoint. (not sure how many times i played through that demo till the game came out, was alot anyway ) Hmm, maybe its too early to be wishing for demos but, if it was a mission already made, it wouldnt take that much...would it? Screenshots finding there way to us from CZ mags aren't fueling the fire anymore. Movies of anything (and i mean anything) would get so much more attention -thanks

    So would i, but if a "simple" remake/conversion could be made a lot easier (and faster). That was the general idea but also, i love "ambush" it brings back good 'ol memories, just wonder if armed assualt will bring back those good times for re-living it
  19. As teamleader, selecting gear for your troops is a pain the ass. Im sorry but it is. I think whats needed is some inspiration from "Rainbow six" and "hidden & dangerous 2". certain features which can spead up the time and also at the same time, allow for more options. 1. Save load outs!!! this would save an incredilbe amount of time. (save markers on map too! 2. select for all (teammates), this could be for uniforms, weapons, armour, ammo. 3. presets ie - assualter, AT gunner, stealth commando (SF option only) 4. weight restrictions. IE 4 LAWS shouldnt weigh the same as 9 mags. 5. Team mates able to "request" weapons, armour, class. team leader can approve, edit, deny that request. 6. Real time update of equipment in MP. this is almost a must. I play alot of COOP and what happens more often than not, is that some one joins when your selecting gear, or the mission fails or the server crashes, all of the above means you have to go back to the briefing screen and remember who had what and its a very long and dull process. I must say though, the layout its very original, what i think needs done is the choosing of gear done on a nice gui which is then turned into handing writing on the "paper" form, that would look awsome. -thanks

    Those are some heavy posts i understand what your saying about roles of different classes. Playing coop, if im teamleader, i follow a set of some of my own rules. One of which is that if your a sniper with a sniper rifle you snipe, you dont pick up AT. If your MG you dont pickup AT. further more, our riflemen/operator scopes dont have powerful anymore (4x Acog), this further increases the need for a sniper and MG. It was also decided to ban HE rounds for sniper rifles because they although cool, lessend the need for AT and M203 guys. Stats should be made depending on CLASS you are. I think this would make for better teamplay.

    how can it be "less flexible" if im talking about expanding whats already there? Also i agree that missions are sometimes to be designed to have particular loadouts. In those cases i think the mission maker should be able to lock weapon loadouts.

    I think if you played as much coop as i do you wouldnt be saying "there are more important things that need fixing". This was just a few suggestions, not definitive ideas. The loadout screen really does need improving, its too slow, its got too few options and its too slow. As for the map (this could be a new thread) It would really really sweet if the team leader was able to draw on the map with a "paint burst), have sellectable icons/markers with GUI, and maybe a way to measure distances quickly. ie click points that link up on the map and calculate the distance.(like what naval people use at sea) All these ideas may seem unecessary to alot of you but i play in a very mature/serious community of coop players and the briefing screen is very, very important for planning.

    That may be. But im assuming you've actually played the original, you were able to select weapons for your team (or at least swap guns) . It would be insane to take this feature away, what im suggesting is improvement apon it. Ive also gathered that next gen will be more about puting you as a soldier in a war, so in that sense this doesnt count entirely. But as i have said, im keeping COOP in mind when i forward these suggestions. COOP for me (as well as the mods that we play COOP with) have stopped OFP collecting dust on the shelf.

    i think i'd want ragdoll in the game because when you have say 10 dead bodies in close proximity you can easily see that there is only a couple of death poses. Ragdoll would eliminate that. The 2nd reason is that hitting people in your car would make them bounce off the hood atm the mo, if you blow someone up, they take a static pose in teh air, it would be alot better if their limbs did move around and bounce when they hit the floor. I think in the end, Ragdoll is pretty much expected in any current FPS and allmost neccessary in next gen games. BTW isnt this a suggestion thread? :S lol post now before it gets locked (Which it probably should )
