Any suggestions which vignette would be best to start with? One has to remember that OFP has limitations even if they are fewer than 2001 . I'm thinking of using FDF and making co-op missions (in order to avoid too many problems with AI issues) marcus

Just a side question. If you use a tool like team speak, would it conflict with other communications programs like Skype? I normally close down all resident software when playing OFP but I guess there needs to be something running for microphones to work? marcus

What I meant acecombat was that; With E-ECP you already have most good addons. Which would sort of make additional downloads less necessary. If you use E-ECP as a base you still get alot of nice stuff. marcus

I've been wondering about the same thing. Though it was a long time since I did my service . Check my post about tactical vignettes(also top thread in this forum). I would be interested in attempting to emulate those in OFP terms. marcus

Why not use E-ECP? Most people already have those addons so it wouldn't require much downloading. marcus

You can play in your jogging dress or underwear  We have no dress code at CiA, but on a serious note you should have a faible for teamplay, don´t look at the killboard every two seconds and have the willingness to move within a group and operate within a group, even if that means that you can´t shoot everyone on sight or go wandering alone. Maybe you can get a peek tomorrow. Try to get the addons we use and just join us for a game or two. I'm no expert OFP player since I mostly use it to simulate various situations but I am most definatelly a team oriented person. The problem you described allways happens when I try a random server. Everyone runs in random directions and I end up alone without a clue where everyone is. That never happened in the army (unless we were drunk). marcus

Last (and only) time i was in a clan was when I played Infiltration in Unreal Tournament . That was before OFP of course. How casual can you be in these groups? marcus

I just recently found that thread (somehow missed it). What i wonder is whether anyone made an attempt to re-design those missions for an OFP island? I of course understand that a direct conversion is tough from a geographical point of view. If anyone is thinking about it I would be happy to help out. There's still too few missions like these around in my humble opinion. I want to see more realistic operations. PM me if interested. Additions: I downloaded them all now. I'll take that as a no then . I thought I'd give them a shot but they are pretty armor heavy, something OFP is less good at. Would be great with similar "vignettes" focusing on infantry/mechanized. marcus

This sounds promising. I hate those Rambo/Lone Wolf missions. This actually sounds like it will use proper military operations as a template. I real like missions where you feel that you are part of a grander scheme/operation. It's what OFP is all about to me. BM

May I offer one suggestion? The name Homeland sounds a tad generic for a stunning island like this. Would it be completelly ruled out to baptize it to something more, unique? And perhaps a flag as well . I like islands like Tonal where you feel that you are in a real country. marcus

Couldn't find a topic here about it but initially this seems like one of the most useful additions to OFP I have seen. ftp://www.gamezone.cz:8021/ofpd/utils/Flashpoint_template_maker.rar I am surprised at how easy it is to make mission templates with it. Even if you only get the raw makings of a missions it still gives you a head start. I think I have been looking for something like this all the time for OFP. Great initiative I must say. For those who have tinkered a bit with this. How do i add custom addon units to the options? I'd like to use VDV and USMC etc? I haven't ran through the data files yet. I've yet to find out how to add mortar support as well. The tutorial doesn't show how. marcus

I don't know if the creator follows these forums but a save/load function would be great. Just to modify some of the parameters etc. It's not so fun doing it all over again if you missed some details. marcus

I have an idea. Make a little competiton where everyone can submit a flag idea . What is the main insipiration for it? I'm thinking Alpes and that sort of terrain. Maybe southern Bavaria? Though since it's an island that would be a problem . Maybe a Carribbean/Latin American island, without the palm trees but still. BM

The most logical would be that FDF mod made those but so far none. Not knowing modelling, I wonder if there's some internal limitation which makes them impossible? My guess is that if there wasn't they would have been made long time ago. I'd love to see them for a Finnish Winter war mod or something like that. Or just modern mountaineer troops. Like the Swedish Arctic rangers for instance. BM

Havent checked the page yet but are there scheduled events as well? I would like something with a good dedicated squad leader where you can play a grunt of sorts . A bit like real military excersises. That's the optimal imho. Thanx btw. I will keep an eye out for next CIA schedule. marcus

This is hands down the most well designed island I've seen. It's simply stunning. The train has some problems here and there (angles) but the island itself is fantastic. Now we would need Phoenix Defence Forces as well . And a flag perhaps? BM
