Hehehehe My record is 240 (according to the speedometer), a Fiat Coupe Turbo was responsible. And it wasn't mine, and our highways are let's say not up to the German standard. The speed limit is 130.

There's all this talk about islamic websites...does anyone have some links...I wanna check'em out a little, crash their system or something similar, surprised no one came up with that before, we should shut them down, there's no message from all sorts of Liberation armies I want to hear, neither do I want them having the satisfaction of a mission well done. And I'm not talking about Islamic sites in general, I'm talking about the ones that show decapitations and other crap in the name of "Islam". A little bit of good medieval torture would do them just fine.

Eurocopter's future heavy lift helicopter: the HTH
mr_rOk replied to Monkey Lib Front's topic in OFFTOPIC
True, 100k in optimum conditions! I've read that the rear "wings" of the adder do much for its maneuverability, the newer versions have "seek on" the whole time, unlike the old ones which were more semi-active and required the parent A/C to keep illuminating the target until the missile was about 30k off, then it's own radar would engage. -

No you're not stupid! Actually I dont know why they(FAS) didn't write down that the 100km(or 90, sources vary, again) version had more potent fuel onboard, or at least say that there is(was) a 50k and a 100k version. Infact I haven't noticed the chart, well I have but not the range remark where it says 50km, until you warned me about it. Sloppy work on their part, confusing people like that! -
Does anyone has an approximate figure how much "the war on terror" costs these days? In the crusade times whole kingdom would have to pay special tax! And about the 9/11 mentality. How many times did the US veto anything that wasn't up Israel's alley! I'm not taking sides here, don't get me wrong, but that has to leave a mark on the normal arab who reads in his daily newspaper "US puts a veto on a Palestinian attempt to condemn the wall...again!" etc No wonder so many decide to blow themselves up for the "greater good of islam"=>however perverted idea of islam they might have. But for the record, if I would be in Ariel Sharon's place the Palestinians would be transported in ox-wagons out of Israel!!! I would give them no land, land for which Israelis have fought at least twice. Of course this is not the solution 'cos there will always be this arab mentality that the Westerners and the Jews want to prevale. Which probably isn't far off the truth... But on a side note, there should be no room on this planet for people who abduct and decapitate other people. I wish i was Paul Bremmer=>there would be order or there would be death!!! @ denoir: I too couldn't help noticing the excessive patriotism that is being displayed over the the past few years. American people are slowly being brainwashed by the administration, the acceptance of the patriot act is a fine example=>in my country the government would probably fall if something like this happened, not in an election; the opposition would simply muster up enough votes for a referendum on accepting/refusal of the law, if the opposition would win a no trust vote would be passed through and suddenly people would be shifting sides trying to get to the best position before all the seats were taken. I remember reading an interview with an american journalist who said that this administration has kept them in the dark about almost everything, that they operate completely untransparently (Halliburton for example, how come a company which is owned by a democrat didn't get the deal) That's really not the point, the point is I was dreaming about Miami when I would be rusty and old, and as long as you have that moron in office Miami is off the list. I feel sorry for you Americans if you reelect GWB. All of you doubters should see the Michael Moore movie "Fahrenheit 9/11" or read the book by Craig Unger "Bushes court, Saud's court". The book especially is an eye opener!

You could apply your sarcasm to Portugal. They're the ones who you can make a joke of! btw, I took seriously only the remarks about the ref; that deal and about the pitch, I knew that that was crap.

The Greeks played it smart. They were the underdogs, they knew Portugal would be under pressure, and they just waited, got their chance and scored. Portugal is the one which played badly, players decided not to take responsability in going for the shot etc. Greeks deserved to win, they've been consistent throughout the whole championship, they even beat Portugal in the qualifying rounds, who was in their group. So they defeated them twice and you're still saying that Portugal was a better player?
-
Hooray for the Greeks. And Portugal got what it deserved, they saw themselves as the champions 90 mins before the end of the game. I actually won 100 euros on a betting game

OMFG That F3000 driver really went fast, a freakin nutter if you ask me. Somebody wondered if this was even legal. Of course it's legal it's called mountain rally cross, it's a championship probably present in most Euro countries. AFAIK, Germany has unlimited speed restrictions on some parts of their highways, at least that's how it was a couple of years back, haven't revisited to check though.

khmmm...bucketman, where on earth did you get that lousy piece of info? Check this out http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/missile/row/aa-12.htm http://www.wonderland.org.nz/raa.htm And that's just two of the numerous resources on the web that says so, if you want other links just feel free to negate me in your next post. btw-i knew this long before I got wired up, from magazines and stuff-you should read more, and the 50km version isn't even operational nowadays, it was more of an extended prototype series-a technology demonstrator for the real 100km missile which the Russians had planned to use on their new stealth fighter and which would be using a more powerful fuel=>this was all happening at the end of the cold war, so there's still no operational stealth fighter in the Russian AF, however the missile and the fuel made it through and are in service today Have fun oh and the new version with scramjet is supposed to have a 150 km range Is it possible you mixed things up, with let's say Alamo? -

Its basicly all the same if your plane has Adders or AMRAAM's AMRAAM=range ~50km AA-12=range ~100 km Is it really the same? I think Malaysia bought the adders with their batch of MiG-29's. Also India and China, possibly Vietnam with their Su-27's @ killagee Your right! -

Exactly, the Eurofighter consortium has been pushing EADS to develop it(meteor) as quickly as possible, 'cos they're afraid the Americans won't sell AMRAAM with the Eurofighter too. Ever heard of the Singapore case: They bought F-16 and AMRAAM and they have to have the AMRAAM's "safely" locked up in US air bases (N.America continent). The deal is that the Americans deliver the missiles only in an emergency. I feel sorry for the Singapore government, cos this is just plain old mocking in their face. Hope they learned their lesson and go with the Eurofighter next. Europe needs projects like the A-400M and this new chopper, because only this allows for good competition, developement of new technology, and none the least getting rid of american supremacy in arms sales. Airbus already defeated Boeing in the passenger aircraft business (by A/C sold in the last years), I don't see a good reason why the rest wouldn't fare just as well. Just another thing that jumped into my mind right now; MBB had a project called "lampyridae" in the 80's or (90's) if memory serves me right, it was an (aerodynamic) stealth jet with shape far beyond the basic stealth design of the F-117. American pressure on the German government at that time killed it off -

Finland bought the F-18 because USA wouldnt sell the AMRAAM missiles if it bought gripen. And the chopper looks cool, a sleek CH-53 stallion; makes you wonder if there are any Italian car designers on the project. -

Opf user mission creating competition...
mr_rOk replied to Placebo's topic in OFP : MISSION EDITING & SCRIPTING
Hello! First of all I apologize if this might sound a bit naive, but a couple of pages back i saw a post which stated that mission contestants have to get permission for the scripts they use from the owners. Don't scripts have the same legal status as addons? ie. free, submitted to public for use/scrutiny, in many it even says modify but give credit, etc... This would be just like e-mailing RHS or BAS or DKM saying can I use your addons?! Don't get me wrong, have no problem asking for permission, but what if the writer of a crucial script fails to answer for example or even denies the use-the hypocrite(being that as he/she published the script for everyone and now out of the blue he/she doesn't allow the public to use it anymore). This has been bugging me like for the past 2 days and replies would be appreciated. Bye
