True, I only have experience in riding with Bell-412, but that doesn't change anything(my posts) regarding this topic. Hey Tigershark, a very good idea discusing the new options it can bring to the game. I have one: In 2008 (supposedly) apaches will be upgraded to block III standard and the biggest novelty will be the control of UAV's, launched "externally" ie. not launched by the helicopter. That would be a pretty good tandem for OFP, and coupled with some uber-scripting would probably be a good stand-off platform. @shadow: The work you did seems like a good beginning, do try and get help for the proxy issues you have, it would be great if somehow the designator could get damaged and you'd have to shoot hellfire's "blind". You have black ones or camo'd ones? The ones in camo have AA missiles, unless you "destroyed" that part of config where it states weapon classes.

@ calm_terror High velocity gun...infantry support That doesn't compute. By definition high velocity guns are used as an anti tank weapon not as infantry support-guns with HE ammo are more suitable for that. IMO the M-60 would qualify today only as a tank hunter not a main battle tank @Miles Teg I'm almost certain that mortars are used as a ballistic solution on the merkava, but as I said I'm not sure but will check it out edit: ah yes I knew I was right: "The tank is fitted with 7.62mm machine guns and an internally operated 60mm mortar system developed by Soltam Ltd. The mortar can fire explosive and illumination rounds to a range of 2,700m." From I.weapons website reffering to merkava mk.4, but Im sure others have it too

Calm terror please post a pic showing the apache with 4 sidewinders on the tips of the wings! Stingers yes, sidewinders no, they're simply too large. And there's no such thing as sidewinder tubes-remember that-you mixed it up.

@ Miles Teg: Are you planning the Sabra too, or is your mod concentrating only on the 1950-1970 era? On a sidenote; I noticed on page 1 a screenshot showing a modified Sherman with a 60mm gun. Is/was this real? Cos 60mm was outdated long before the end of ww2. Could it be it is a 60mm mortar? Israelis have the habit of placing mortars onto armoured vehicles. Plus the calibre matches. And agm-122 is an anti radar missile-not much use for it in OFP, although you can probably shoot of an APC with it, but that's the 30mm cannon job. Honestly how many pics of apache with your loadout have you seen? And how many with FFAR and Hellfire combo?

I think the stingers are attached to both versions in the JSDF camo scheme. You also get two unmarked ones (black), they come without stingers btw that's the best apache this community has, at least from the released ones pool @ panzergrenadier did you change the camo too? Cos i really don't like the insignia on the left. If so you might give me a crash course on how i can do it too?

Regarding the black market issue. I had been offered an AK for a meagre price, i think calculated it would be 80 euros,TT pistol for 50, beretta for 150, Zolja launcher (similar to RPG) for 300 etc...all from the old JNA warehouses, well except berretas, they were imported by some of the Territorial guards just before the breakup. Well i think it's not going to happen too, but from my experience with Kosovo Albanians I find that they are a very resentful nation. They'll hold something against you for the rest of your life. And as my info (media info) goes there are very little Serbs in Kosovo right now, mainly by the border with Serbia. That opens up a vacuum which the Albanians would like to exploit. You shouldn't forget that neighboring Macedonia has a 40% ethnic Albanian population and their army has already been fighting "insurgents" from Albania who tried to capture grounds in the E part of the country. UCK is dormant, they're just waiting for a chance. btw you said you served in Kosovo. Wasn't there an "action" to collect all the weapons from civilians? Wanna take an uneducated guess how many didn't turn it in? The ones that have gave, gave Chinese AK's whilst still having a Steyr scout rifle @ home=>and that's an example of "gossip" reinforced by pics of my neighbour who went to visit the remainder of his family (Albanian families are big) to Kosovo last year.
