Anybody else find they have to hit the B key a few times to activate the binoculars? (Before anyone asks, the key works fine in everything else) EDIT: It's happening with my reload key as well.

This sounds like a FADE item to me and not a bug. Did you install with a legal licensed CD from Codemasters or a copy of the game? If its not the original CD or if you are using a crack then this can happen its not a bug. Also if a user addon is not configured correctly this could happen. I suggest trying it without any outside addons and see if you get the same result or resinstall the game with a licensed cd if that was an issue. Yes it's a perfectly legal copy (Game Of The Year Edition) although the CD wasn't in the drive because you don't need it with the newer beta versions (Thank God, I hate CD swapping with a passion). As soon as I managed to get my hands on an AK74, aiming wasn't a problem. Does the game even still use FADE now that the CD checks have been removed? The first thing I do when testing bugs is make sure there are no mods loaded so I guess that answers your second question.

Much as I love this game trying to find a bug in it is like trying to find hay in a haystack. Here are some off the top of my head. During (at least) the first cutscene in Red Hammer, when people speak their queueing is all messed up, one person will go to speak before the other has finished. This doesn't seem to happen with Cold War Crisis and it's only happened once or twice with Resistance. I'm guessing there's some messed up path names in the code somewhere because my save directory has subdirectories like this: C:\Program Files\Codemasters\Operation Flashpoint\Users\meiso\Saved\Users\meiso. I don't know if these are bugs but I started playing Resistance to check the speech bug and during the first mission twice I stood right in front of an enemy soldier and fired with the shotgun and it completely missed them. During the second mission when the mines are supposed to go off, 2 out of 3 times none of them went off.

Cheap and cheerful VIA AC97 built into my motherboard. Cutscenes in the original game seem to play fine BTW.

Nope. I've tried starting over a few times now (having removed all mods just in case) and it always happens.

I just started playing Red Hammer using the 1.96 beta and the speech is all messed up. It seems to overlap, before one person has finished speaking another one starts.

Try reading the whole thread before posting, this was cleared up yesterday. The save system has already been explained twice, even if I didn't "get it" the first time.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Well I'm on Incursion at the moment and it annoyed me cause I'd spent ages making my way along the coastline and had found a nice recce spot in some bushes/trees overlooking Guba's house before saving. Lucky I saved there because when I came out the trees I found myself directly behind a patrolling infantry squad, needless to say I hit the deck pretty fast. Unluckily that save point later got overwritten. I hate (in a good way) doing the Black Ops missions all over again cause they're just so damn scary!

Yeah but the loaded game is at a point in time where the mission is as good as failed, because that's when I hit abort and called it a day. SpecOp9: Good idea, I was actually thinking about that earlier.
-
Yeah I know about this, but as soon as you abort the mission it saves over whatever save game you previously made.

This has to be one of the most annoying "features" i've ever seen in a game, especially when combined with only being able to save once a mission. Because the missions take so long, say if I've been playing for 30 minutes or something and I mess up (my position has been compromised or I've done something wrong tactically) I'll just hit ESC, Abort the mission and quit the game (Do BIS think people have nothing better to do than play OFP for hours at a time?). Later on I go to load up my save and find I'm back where I was just after I screwed up the mission, it's not nice. There must be a design reason behind it, it's just that for the life of me I can't imagine what it would be, does anyone else know? I really want to do all the missions without cheating but when you've played a mission for so long and then had all your work just swept away in one go the incentive to play through the whole thing again just goes out the window.

I'm not talking specifically about the the Guba and Angelina problem (as I haven't experienced it), but a while ago when I'd finished the mission that involves you retreating into the mountains to the rebel base, the cutscene that follows where you go to the top of the castle to meet the rebel leader, my character and his were invisible. I'm now on the mission where you have to sneak into the commie base and disable the SCUD launcher. I was sneaking around the perimeter when I suddenly got shot from out of nowhere, the camera then panned out and starting revolving around a look-out tower with nobody in it! Has anyone else experienced this?
