    Server's choose respawn type

    I want a feature in the next patch of Flashpoint Resistance. This feature is the choice for server admins, or whoever is hosting the flashpoint server on a LAN, to be able to change the respawn type. If this is possible it would greatly enhance gameplay. This is why: when I play on a LAN cooperative many maps do not have a respawn type specified in a description.ext. Usually there are only 4 humans playing, but 8people total on the team so 4 are AI. I would like to have the server to be able to override the default respawn type so we could play with group respawn without having to decompress the pbo, add/edit the description.ext, and then recompress. Could one of the master coders for Flashpoint Resistance tell me if the game code can support this? This feature would be greatly appreciated in the community. Mark Wegner

    I can't control so many freelance mappers, but I can influence BIS to implement features that will only increase the quality of their game. It IS their job to make games, it was their choice to make a game. If they haven't thought of this feature, from a game developers point of view, I would be happy to spend the time to implement it. That is, if the code supports it. So how about getting some BIS guys to say if this is possible? I don't understand why these flashpoint players appear to be against adding features which will not reduce that quality and playablity of this game, but only enhance it and increase the audience range and appreciation.

    I am not talking about unlimited respawn. Group respawn specifically allows human players to take control of unused AI teamates when they die. This allows you to play a 12person coop stage with only 6 people and be able to play it the way it was intended, with the full use of 12 lives. It makes LAN play more pleasant, I just want to know if this is possible to implement with the current codebase and if it is BIS you should!

    I have a collection of 100 old cooperative maps, and most of these don't have a respawn type set. I'd like to be able to play these maps with my friends, and be able to use the remaining AI men if one of us dies. Group Respawn is the perfect type of respawn for Cooperative maps, and I having to change all the old maps to this type would be pointless if it is possible to make it a server configurable option. Any BIS guys have a comment about this?
